Scanlation work/Official Scans.

Batoto will only allow content, that is
1) classified as valid work of scanlation, or
2) uploaded/approved directly by the respective copyright holder (self-publishing with Batoto as a medium)

Direct scans are not allowed unless they fall under rule 2).

This rule here is a bit confusing...
This is mainly concerning about Manga-Sketchbook, cause there are cases where Batoto staff or Contributors are uploading a whole series and they avoid Manga-Sketchbook's official english scans.
Yet there are series like Shamo, where large amount of volumes of official scans are uploaded by Batoto staff or Contributors.
I want to fill in the missing volumes of a few series here on batoto and the only available source is manga-sketchbook's scans...so wtf am I suppose to do here? I can't exactly ask those official scan publishers...

I also would like to use this chance to talk about this series; Otoyomegatari. Looking at the comment section, I went to check out Scantily Clad's site and found nothing regarding it. Plus their version isn't a official scan, it's a valid scanlation, so I dunno if I'm allow to fill the missing chapters on that too...

Aren't the Shamo volumes scans of French publications? Could you point out which ones are English scans?

Official scans are not allowed. Everything that is up has been overlooked.

As long as it's valid scanlation work and the group allows us to host it (and it doesn't go against batoto's policies) you are good to go and upload.

To be clear, the ones that we've taken down from Manga-Sketchbook are DIRECT ENGLISH SCANS, not scanlations. The ones that are up of Shamo use French raws, but they are scanlations (or at least purport to be).

As for Otoyomegatari, Scantily Clad does not want licensed manga to be posted.
