Dear Readers,

Some of you may have anticipated this development after the recent events at Mangastream, but we are sad to report that Red Hawk Scanlations has received a DMCA notice of copyright infringement from Shueisha with regard to the Bakuman and Beelzebub series. We have no desire to pick legal battles, so we have removed the series in question from our servers and will no longer be providing access to them via our site effective immediately.

However, aggregate sites will undoubtedly continue to distribute material as they please, independent of our actions here. The act of editing manga itself is not illegal, and we have no control over what is distributed on other servers. Meanwhile the Red Hawk site will continue to serve as a hub for updates and discussion as we continue to pursue our passions without engaging in the illegal distribution of these series.

In short, these series are not dropped, but they will not be found on our servers.

Ey, I`m not part of the Red Hawk Team or anything and just wanted to drop a few questions on that topic.

Does this mean Red Hawk Scans will continue to scanlate these and simply stop hosting those files with their reader?
Will Red Hawk stop offering download solutions?
Or does the "not dropped" refer to it simply being picked up by another group and thus it not being dropped in general?

This may just made me sound pretty dumb or paranoid or whatever but I like to be as clear as possible about these things.

They will continue to scanlate them, but wont provide links or any kind of access to the chapters on their server. But ninja uploaders will find a way to the secret and forbidden archive and upload the chapters to the online readers and other aggregator sites.
So fear not, you will get your fix. ^^

I like Red Hawk's approach. Kudos. Sooner or later it seems like all the scanlators are gonna have to move their servers outside the US to avoid this DMCA crud, eh?

Well since the DMCA was from Shueisha, being in the US or not doesn't really matter.

@powha It's more likely some mysterious "Myster X" will hack their P.C.s, steal the chapters and upload them somewhere on the 'net.
Without them knowing, of course
