I think that Shingi's character and Ranma are basically the same. The only things lacking are that there is no engagement and that Shingi is a weak ass character in the beginning as compared to Ranma who starts out strong. Thoughts?

Remember that Ranma takes after his father Genma(Panda dude) in that they are completely self seeking. Ranma and Shingi lack a mother figure for most of their series (We'll see with Shingi whether the manhwa-ka decides to bring the mother in). Shingi takes after his father in the self-seeking and pervertedness characteristics. Ranma is desperately sought after by many females as is Shingi. There are other parallels as well. Let's see if anyone else can spot 'em out!

I am the process of read Ranma 1/2 for like 6 months now i can never get past chapter 120 because it got too repetitive for me to read the happen with most of the older manga i read. but i dont see the similarities ranma was already a martial artist before this and kang doesnt change sex he just cross-dresses and ranma is like a harem

If you read further, you'll get to an episode where Ranma...
Spoiler
He is commonly insulted as a cross dresser throughout the series.
A harem requires 1 dude to have multiple female followers living with him. Ranma lives at the Tendo's with 3 Tendo girls and their Father as well as his own Father.
Spoiler

I mentioned the difference about the two of  them in terms of martial arts strength.

I don't find them that similar,Shingi's the purrffect boy under the public's eyes and has godly skills in everything except for martial arts(beginning) and lacks moral. While Ranma isn't an asshole like Shingi and tries to get along with Akane and he doesn't have a fake personality.Shingi's just faking everything to make everyone else that gets in his way to look bad on purpose while Ranma's just.

Shingi=Pretends to be humble, gentle, has a good academic,is a bug compared to Sung-Hae when it comes to fighting though.Extremely narcissist.

Ranma=Great martial art skills,is about on par with Akane when it comes to fighting.Only more of a narcissist when he's a girl.

I agree with everything you just said, except that Ranma is a much stronger martial artist than Akane.

Haha yeah,it's been a long time since I've read it after all...

Even though Akane beats Ranma every time,it's probably he was off guard or underestimates her as a girl...While Shingi acknowledges that Sung-Hae's a monster.

Wait, she doesn't beat Ranma all the time. Heck I can't recall a time when she does beat him in a fair contest. For instance, the first time they meet Akane challenges Ranma(girl) to a fight. Ranma easily trounces her by throwing her into a wall. He doesn't even break a sweat.

The only time Ranma gets beaten is through trickery or if Akane overreacts and attacks without Ranma expecting it (like her throwing large objects at Ranma because she thought he was being a lecher or immoral). Even then Ranma dodges it half the time. His weakness is when he starts to gloat about his strength, then Karma comes in and kicks him in the ass.

Also consider this: Both Shin-Gi and Ranma have fathers who try and teach their sons horrible self serving ethics. Both fathers are insanely selfish to the point of ignoring familial bonds. Both use their sons as tools. Both sons are not unwilling to incapacitate their fathers for fear of their immoral nature.
