I normally read manga using my pad and it really feels different, more comfortable. I use an app called MangaStorm but unfortunately it takes its manga from NOEZ's websites, MF, etc...
My idea was for batoto to take some ideas from this app's mechanics and create your own, truly pro translator batoto reading app. I bet there are some readers here that would be glad to help you. I do know its free to post apps on android, unfortunately i do not now if the same happens with apple store, but i will leave those details for others.
Best of luck,
Kishuy

But I am aware that there are android app that does work with batoto. Though, we officially endorse none of them, just saying there are.

Mangastorm is free to use, but if you want to save more than 3 favorite so it will update and u don't have to browse too much info you have to upgrade the app and that will cost you 2,30euros. That also takes out adds.
I was wondering if you could do something similar, have adds to make it free, then just pay 0,79 if you want to remove them. It will certainly take some of the finance pressure from having it there and who know, maybe some profit. I leave the rest to you
On another note, I urge you to endorse those type of apps. I do not own any android system so i can't check it out but you will discover a nice new community that way. Also is more visibility for the website

However, Grumpy, one thing that would be awesome to create apps for is the "My Following" (or whatever you chose to name it). But still need a private/public API access...
And, ofc, this can also be done with RSS, so dunno if there is much of a point.

I don't own any apple products, so hard to say how anything works over there.

But why don't you make an official app? (Not you specifically, but you know what I mean) Android users are fairly used to free apps having ads in them. You could make a free Batoto reader and the ad revenues could help the scanlators in the same way the ad revenues for this site do.

There's nothing bad about your having and idea and voicing it that's what the forum is for.I have the idea because o really like the app i use. It also alows me to download content inside the app therefore i do not need to have a internet connection all times. Another thing is the app resizes everything to the diveces size, which is very confortable.

I know what you mean about Crazy's post, though it all depends on points of view.
You say you "really dislike" what he said, but it seems you missed why he said it. You aren't a native English speaker so you probably didn't notice the subliminal message that God Ginrai post carries. It might not have been intentional though, but reading the message it gets across to us as "We want one, go make one!"
So whenever we as moderators see something like this we get a bit upset from the lack of consideration towards Grumpy, be it intentional or not.
I hope you understand why Crazy said what he did a bit better now.
Making the applilcation can probably be done very quickly. But just making something doesn't cut it. It will need to be maintained.I don't own any apple products, so hard to say how anything works over there.

"not you specifically" doesn't really mean anything here since for an app to be official it has to be made by Grumpy. He's the only one who maintains and develops Batoto. Yes, he does use IPB software and Invision skins, but that has problems of its own.
I can't say this often enough, Grumpy is working as a full time empolyee of a company and is investing a lot to all of his free time in Batoto. Most of the time why he doesn't do something that was suggested is because of his priorities
You may ask, why doesn't he get somebody to help him then?
There is simply nobody with the necessary skills that Grumpy trusts enough to let him/her work on Batoto. As for the trust issue, you can read this. (happened to mangastream just recently)
I'm not saying that there won't be an app. In fact Grumpy probably thought about pros and cons of making it, but it will all depend on how much time he has to spare.

Let me lay out why an official Batoto app will not be forthcoming, at least in the near-term:
- Batoto's developer staff consists of one person (Grumpy)
- Grumpy has a full-time job, and Batoto is a "side-project"
- Grumpy lacks the resources to program Android/iOS apps (e.g., he would need to buy an iPhone and learn how Apple programming works)
- There would probably be significant problems deploying our unique ad structure. Android probably has an ad API, though I'm not sure if it can do what we want. I'm pretty sure iOS can't do what we need it to.
- Batoto is not a downloading site. It's an online reader. This requires an internet connection. By downloading all the manga to your device, you're breaking the concept that Batoto isn't a downloader (also, the same function could probably be utilized in a fashion as to download massive amounts of manga). Also, by downloading everything, you will be bypassing our ads.
