What I know in the Komodo dragon saliva is more than 28 Gram-negative and Gram-positive 29 have been isolated. These bacteria cause septicemia in their victims. If the dragon bites do not directly kill the prey and the prey can escape, generally unlucky prey will die within a week of infection. The most deadly bacteria in Komodo dragon saliva Pasteurella multocida bacteria.

PS: Sorry if my english bad and if there is something wrong please justified :D

Why do people wanna argue with the new facts just because they're so used to what they've been told? More and more lizards are actually being found to posess forms of venom. The ones that do have venom glands in their gums and unlike snakes do not inject venom, but actually just maim and secrete venom into the wounds.

That actually makes sense with the story, remember at the first it took a while for Taira's wound to clot and form a scab.

Damn lizards have tons of bad microorganisms in their mouth, and their salvia prevents proper regeneration and immunity procedures from happening. No poison. Imagine sort of AIDS in bitten limb. You just can deal with it by spilling vodka and some clean bandages(because you don't want to catch something nasty again). But it helps only if small amount of time have passed. If bacterias allready coursing through your veins, you'd better go and take some antibiotics. Allso stupid animals cannot into lifesaving booze.
