This is a guess, but from what I can see the small Japanzai watermarks are still on there (whereas the clean version Japanzai upload don't even have those) so I would imagine MF are getting it by someone who disagrees/disapproves of the way Japanzai are doing things; ripping them off this site or from Japanzai, removing the watermarks, and then uploading them there in an act of defiance at some group trying to tell them what browser they are "allowed" to use.
Personally, I can see what they're saying, people have a browser they like, and extensions they trust - they don't want to change their browsing habits for 1 silly thing (not that I condone what they are doing, but I do understand their reasons).
However, I'm more worried about the damage these watermarks are doing to Batoto - the great thing about these on-line readers is that it's a one stop shop for reading all of your favourite series, however what if an on-line reader required you to install a new browser or be unable to read a series (even if it's one of several) you like? That ease of use suddenly vanishes.
Would you go somewhere else to read that one series? Probably.
Would you, when you see it also has all your other favourites on this other site, still use Batoto and only go to that "other site" for the one you can't read? I don't think so - if it's easier to read all your series in one place, on the other site, then the appeal is there rather than here.
My worry is that the goal Batoto set out with (supporting the scanlation groups, and helping combat those "other" sites) is being irreparably damaged by the very groups it's trying to help.
That people are now being turned away to those other readers because of this action, which is essentially extortion. I don't know how many series/scanlators are going with these watermark tactics so it might only be a marginal loss of support to the other sites, but a loss is a loss.
