Just like the name of the topic. I got this ideas when I read manga at EasyGoingScans manga reader, but I had forgoten until yesterday when the manga Kagami no Kuni no Harisugawa had webtoon format for some reason.

I prefer waiting a few minutes for all pages to load to waiting fifteen seconds every page (yeah, my internet kinda sucks).

And I'm sorry if similar topic has already been made (I only looked through the first page of this thread).

hmm kinda interesting reading mangas in webtoon style.. just like webtoons strip in page by page format

but there are many mangas here than webtoons.. maybe an "experiment stage" would be required and apply it on manga with available webtoon format like Kagami no Kuni no Harisugawa

At this point, Grumpy has given readers the option of viewing webtoons in a page by page format, but so far has not provided the option to be able to read printed comics as webtoons. This is something that may become a feature of Batoto, but we shall see. Thank you for your suggestion KilluaX90!

There have beens server suggestions about preloding pages as well, maybe there'll be an option to preload more than the one page that is preloaded currenly.

I don't think Grumpy will enable manga to be read in webtoon format for advertising reasons.

Also, slightly unrelated, but he can't simply "enable" it to be read in webtoons. Manga pages need white space in between each page, because they are meant to be read as pages, not top-down. It's a relatively minor change, but just an FYI (manga makes ZERO sense if read in true webtoon format)

That's true. It's kindof awkward reading it in webtoon format.

Well, just like how some folks like to read webtoon in page-by-page format, I think there would be some people like me, who prefer to read manga in a long stripe. I mean, the default reading style for manga should be page-by-page, but if someone prefers to read in a long stripe, they can choose webtoon-style. I think it's always good to have more options to choose from.

Personally, I don't find it awkward reading manga in webtoon format (if you want, you can try it at http://readonline.egscans.com/). I am actually using a Firefox addon to open multiple pages in a long stripe to read manga.

I know this suggestion post is a bit old, but upon searching it was exactly what I wanted to suggest as well.

Regarding the problems with advertising, I don't know about the feasibility of it, but would it be possible to add more ads along the side of the page as you scroll down?

For example currently it is:

[-banner ad-]

[----------------]     [----------]

[-----page-----]      [long ad]

[----------------]     [----------]

and if they were in a strip it would be perhaps like this:

[-banner ad-]

[----------------]     [-----------]

[----page1----]      [long ad1]

[----------------]     [-----------]

[----------------]     [-----------]

[----page2----]      [long ad2]

[----------------]     [-----------]

[----------------]     [-----------]

[----page3----]      [long ad3]

[----------------]     [-----------]

There would be one ad per page missing (the top banner ad), but I personally wouldn't mind if there was another banner ad between the pages (although it would look more cluttered).

The reason I'm keen to support this is because like Killua said, I'd much prefer to wait longer for a webpage for one chapter to load, rather than having to click and wait ~10 seconds for each page to load (I have slow internet as well). At least if it can load in one go, I can open it and leave it to load while doing something else.

Right now during peak hour Optus traffic, I'll go through and click open a new webpage for each chapter page and leave all the tabs to load.

Again I don't know the difficulties with implementing it, but it would be nice to have the option.

A way to solve Killua issue(with the loading) would be to add the option to load all page at once but just no to show them at once. (kinda like spoilers) So that you'd only change to an other already loaded image instead of loading the whole page!

I think I've seen something like this on a scanlators site(forgot which) and I found that quite convenient even if my connection is good.

The reader already loads the next image ahead of time (so if you're reading page 5, it loads page 6 in advance) but it only loads that one image. There was talk a while ago of increasing it to ~3 images, which would slow down the first page's loading by quite a lot but make loading the rest of the pages quite easy.

My words are my own, and do not represent Batoto in any way, shape, or form unless otherwise stated in the post itself ^.^
