Hi,

 

Since Batoto is no longer an online manga reader site, maybe it is possible to update the site so that scanlator groups can update the manga list/data base and then readers can go to their respective website or recommended online manga reader for their manga project.

Dude, c'mon, let's be realistic here, the current climate is to shut the site down entirely, so I think about the only "suggestion" that might have even a glimmer of hope to it is "suggesting" that everybody beg Grumpy on bended knee to at least keep the forums alive.

seeing as baka-updates already does a decent job at this already, why try and compete with them. Makes no sense.

Basically what Ponies and Spark had already said.

 

Batoto isn't in a state of reforming right now, the main aspect of the website has already been closed; the idea behind Vatoto is just to not have the community ties cut completely on such short notice. It isn't meant to be any type of reboot of the site. That, alongside what Spark stated, basically. Baka-Updates is a long-standing community, consisting of staff that has worked in their respective aspect for a long time. They are doing a great job. Us copying them would be meaningless as our staff and community would probably have much less experience on the matter, making us just a worse copy, which I doubt anyone really wants.

 

We have had a purpose and there are no plans to reboot the site with a new one altogether.

Leaving aside the fact that it's not even on the table, and addressing the idea on it's merits...

 

Much as I prefer batoto's release page over Baka's in terms of readability and quick information access (due perhaps to batoto being a much newer site), having two such sites to divide attention of people posting release bulletins would be pretty much the last thing we need, I think.

I remember, when onemanga closed, they also have this kind of idea, in fact they try to do it, but i can't remember how it end...

I may be wrong but I recall onemanga was shut down because of some license/policy issue. Someone else took over months after though but it wasn't the same anymore.

 

 

But back to topic, Mangaupdates is more of a simpler format of pretty much anything about the comic. Batoto/Vatoto isn't that. It's more so a uploader place than a updater place.
