Hi.

With GMail, you can have as many dots in the first part of email address (before @gmail.com) as you like, and it will still point to the same inbox, e.g. [email protected] actually points to [email protected].

However, after I've registered a while ago with my @gmail email address with an extra dot in it, I haven't received a verification email. Then my account was deleted, obviously, the I re-registered again with a dot in email address and haven't got a verification email still.

But then I tried to change email address to the version with dots stripped, and it worked and I was able to receive a verification email and verificate myself.

So, it seems like a bug?

Did some gmail registration tests and all went fine once I finally got past that "but thou hast to confirm your phone number" gmail thing. Putting m.u.l.t.i.p.l.e periods in, adding the +something part, etc.; the only issue seemed to be with mul...tiple periods in a row, but this problem seeems to lie on gmail side (didn't receive any emails sent to na..me@ from my other e-mail addresses either). Taking a look at a few registration periods, there are many validated gmail-with-periods accounts, too.

In regards to manual validation requests, there doesn't seem to be any rule to them (they come from various sources, and in case of google ones only some have bonus symbols).

Thanks for the report nonetheless~
