It is somewhat well known that much of what are in british museums was stolen from other nations when they had conquered and ruled many nations (otherwise known as colonialism). Not only that, it's filled with corpses, not only from beasts they killed (like that rare butterfly in chapter 1) mounted or in a jar of formaldehyde but also remains of humans grave robbed. Not only the obvious examples, like mummies, but regular every day human corpses were dug up and bones put on display. There has been calls for them to return stuff and return remains for reburial.

There is a much better way to display wild beasts nowadays, with pictures and videos. And no one need go to a museum to access either of those things, Museums are not the best way to experience new information most of the time thanks to modern technology. Another fancy new place to gain knowledge, libraries.

While the most of the story is a who done it mystery of the chapter type thing where the setup is largely irrelevant. Ignoring that a "museum" kid is acting like a PI for hire (and charging absurd prices for little work based on expecting that rare butterfly corpse that was obviously expensive since it was essentially killed for). It's not even really a museum. He clearly has no interest in visitors, no matter how much he may act otherwise. No attempts to advertise, a entrance that is ludicrous for elderly, little kids, and crippled people to use. (yeah, try getting through that tree window entrance when wheelchair bound)

Despite it mostly not being about this ludicrous setup, it's worth talking about, especially as it keeps coming back to it, like the "smarts" (not really all that smart) of the boy acting like PI for hire supposedly comes from "museum" So a nation of thieves, grave robbers and corpse robbers consolidate their stolen loot  and dead bodies to show off, and call this place of showing off stolen loot and dead bodies "a museum". Then some lady by merits of her bloodline alone (called queen) gathers three people who work at museums (since museum=wisdom in this comic) And charges them to guard the places of stolen loot and dead bodies, and gives them rings to symbolize their promise to protect the stolen loot and dead bodies from people who might want it back. All this was done in secret but lots of people know of it anyway.
