I think it's been within the past 1 to 2 weeks that I've noticed this odd behavior.  If I open a series' main page, or return to it after finishing the most recent chapter, the page automatically scrolls down to the last comments just above the field for creating a comment of my own.  I don't know if this is new site behavior, or something strange on my end.  I tried deleting cache and cookies, but the behavior persists.  I've just now seen that it will do the same thing in forum topics, where the page will scroll down automatically to the reply box.

Sounds very weird.........no, I've not seen anything like that myself.

I've noticed this behavior on Firefox only. My investigations have narrowed it down to "inline scripts" on the comic page and have notified Grumpy about the issue a while ago, but haven't seen a fix yet.

 

Unfortunately, blocking all inline scripts disables most of the features of the site.

After viewing last page and returning to Manga main page the page jumps to the bottom.

Since this includes the comment section this is pretty far down.

Happens to me as well, on FF Nightly. Filtering the text editor with uBlock Origin stops the scrolling:

Of course, this also breaks the text editor. For example, I had to disable uBlock to use fancy code features in this post. Since I don't usually comment, this is enough for me and might also be the case for somebody else.

Indeed, simply using the element picker to remove the comment box has fixed the issue for me. Greatly helpful as it only gets more annoying as time goes on, and I don't normally comment.

Thanks for the information Daktyl and Foras. Used Adblock element hiding to stop it.

so basically i have to block said element above to prevent the comment going all the way to the first comment everytime  i post a comment on a manga's page?

 

FYI i've had this problem from the beginning, so for a preety long time ( at least a year, can't exactly remember). i'm using chrome.

That's a separate issue. That comes from the fact that IP.Board (the underlying software) shows the oldest comments by default. Grumpy reversed the order so that it shows the newest comments first, but when you post a new comment it takes you to where your comment would be, if Grumpy hadn't reversed the order.

I was sure I wasn't the only one, went to the forum and found this thread. Thank you, saved me from having to figure out the responsible script on my own, so I don't have to block all bato.to scripts.
