In recent days, every time I visit batoto, something causes the page to freeze up. I wonder if this is a recent thing or not, because I never encountered something like this before and I haven't done anything different from my usual routine or downloaded anything new that I think could have caused this. Here's an image of what comes up:

And it says:
"A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, open the script in the debugger, or let the script continue.

Script:

Edit: so the script url isnt clickable.

It doesn't look like anything on batotos end.....
Looks more like an unknown script /plug-in or something
That have been installed/enabled in your browser.

Did you try other browser ? Does it do the same?
Before anythin, you should always try it on different browsers/devices.

Recommend you to disable any unknown plugin/remove scripts unknown..
Clear your browser cookies/cache. Close and restart browser. Dont save
Any tabs you are on... see if it still occurs when you visit the site.

Fairly sure it's ad space-related.

Can't tell if it's a spam-ad detection thingy some ad networks use as the site seems to claim or a mask for a data-mining company or both.

I haven't downloaded or updated any add-ons recently, no. I actually did clear my cookies and cache, however, but the problem is still occurring. Lastly, no, I haven't tried it on any other browsers/devices yet. I'll see if it's the same or not some time, then.

Yea, been having that issue as well, using Firefox. If it helps, the issue , at least for me, seems to only occur on the "main" manga pages, as well as the homepage for Batato. Doesn't seam to appear (at least so far) while reading the manga itself. Also, tested with AdBlock+, and it still occured with and without it active.

Added: Just tested the above idea  with the YesScript, but so far, haven't had a "pause" last long enough to pop the non-respondsive script window.

I think I may have solved it, at least for me Someone else might test it if they also have this issue. Solution was uninstalling and then reinstalling the VLC player. Not sure if it was a VLC or mozilla update that was specifically causing it, but I suspect that the error was being caused by an glitch/error with how VLC was playing or interacting with the advertisements. I only realized the possible connection when I decided to listen to some music while reading and had my player going all out of whack while online, and on sites not even involving batoto, but was much worse while on the batoto site. This was occuring despite the use of an ad blocker when testing so still not quite sure how it was happening (maybe the ads still send info to the video player despite the blocking?), but by uninstalling the VLC, restarting system and then reinstalling seems to have completely cleared the issue.

Good luck.

Edit: Well... that is blown. The problem is still occurring, on the main pages, and the homepage. Just not the actually reading pages of the mangas. And the player is not having issues so I gues they are not related. Not sure why it had cleared up for a time though, then started again.

The issue still persists in Firefox and Edge (don't know about Chrome). Hopefully, someone has an idea how to fix this cause it's a real pain to have the entire browser freeze when you're refreshing the Batoto homepage or opening a comic main page (not reader).

Not sure it it was related, but the other day Bata.to was down, or at least I couldn't access it. Since it came back, I have not had any issues with the "freezing".

Edit: Not sure if it's the same issue, but some Batoto comic pages freeze for me on my mobile browser (nothing happens for 10-15s or so), though it has always been perfectly fine on my laptop. I was under the impression that was an ad related thingy. In fact I'm pretty sure it is related to ads on the page. Also this only happens on some particular comics' homepages. The forums load smoothly as ever.
