I skipped most of the chapters, I kept following mostly to see how it would end.

Did everyone who died in borderland die in real life, and everyone who was still alive, live in real life?

Everyone who died in borderlands died, everyone who got injured got injured in real life and everyone who was fine got released after a few days with no significant wounds. The only thing they remember is the resolve they made in the borderlands and can feel a little bit of the ties they had with the people they met in the borderlands. People who have found their way in life in the borderlands kept that when they went back to the normal world.

What happened with the two that wanted to take over as citizens because they liked killing?

Of course, they died. Though not explicitly explained, anyone who didn't left the Borderland died so I assume those two also died. Well, I really hate to say this but they deserved it. Those who left including Niragi and Chishiya lived since they had "somewhat" learned their lessons and repented.

The weird part is that since Mira and her group were in the border lands months before Arisu arrived, but were in the same cataclysm as everyone, we know that time is not perceived linearly by the borderlands. So our two newly instated citizens most likely completed a full cycle themselves and were either defeated by the next wave of players to be sent in.

With 2000 people that died and 25,000 injured people; and I would roughly assume that each group of borderlanders numbered in the hundreds, we don't know how many consecutive series were ran in the span of that 60 seconds where people's hearts were stopped. Kind of terrifying when you think about it.

Yeah. Very terrifying. But to those who have won, it is a reward for them even if they've experienced the most terrifying scenes of their life, just like how terrifying life can be, but will also be rewarding at the end if you will be one of the faithful ones who will be saved (based on the Bible). It is really like what is stated in the Bible, let's say Arisu and his group won, they've "died" or "freed themselves" from the Borderlands, since if we also die in real life we won't really be sent directly to Heaven or Hell (we would still be waiting in our graves until Judgment Day comes because the dead will be asleep until they will be waken by God after His Only Son comes down again to Earth).

So Arisu and his group has been "asleep" the whole time during the next waves together with the "winners" of the previous waves. What's terrifying is to those who have agreed to become a Citizen, they've literally experienced Hell in disguise of "Freedom, Love, Enjoyment, and etc." I'm specially sad to the Lawyer Citizen for choosing the wrong decision, at the end he was even like "Now I understand, but it's too late".

So many memorable moments and characters. The story is also very well written, too bad the author has been on hiatus for a very long time now. Aso Haro-san, please write more great mangas, onegai!
