If he resolves the magic, won't the kids disappear? In a sense, he'd be killing the kids. You might say they aren't real, but the magics made them real enough. He should ask what happens to the kids if he resolves her issue.

 

And additional tragic, if the kids do disappear, she will forget them. Everyone will forget them except MC I think.  To simply disappear and be forgotten by nearly everyone, including she you call mother...

If I'm reading this correctly, Metata says that the fake memories created by the magic chocolate would go away, but memories made after that wouldn't. So while it's possible the kids could disappear Lin Yuan and everyone else will still remember them. I don't think the kids will disappear, though. While there's a certain amount of angst that could be wrung out of them having never been real, having them persist after the resolution of Lin Yuan's initial arc would offer far more opportunities to embarrass Hao Yi and set up more coincidental situation comedy with the rest of his unexpected harem.

 

Unless of course this manhua contracts cerebus syndrome and decides that the angst is the better plot thread. It really depends on how long it's going to run.
