So after reading the latest chapter, i have one question......

 

How common is this lazy ass type of censorship?

 

 

Now I do not mind the normal white/blank type of censorship because that one at least implies that the artist did not PAINT/DRAW the smut. this type however indicate that the artist DID and i feel cheated and the work cheapened at this type of censorship where stickers were basically just plastered over the naughty parts.

 

So the questions i am posing to you are the following:

 

 

Why do people censor in this cheap way? i mean i understand animes doing it for their television version and then removes the censorship in the DvD launch.

 

How common is this in mangas? Because to me this seems rare.

 

What are your thoughts on this type of censorship?

One, all "censorship" is added afterwards, be they bars, mosaics, just big ol' globs of white........yeah, all of it is added after the artist has drawn everything........I mean, you didn't seriously think artist only drew parts of stuff and, like, allowed for censorship covering certain parts up so they didn't bother to draw them, did you?

 

Two, what you've got in this case isn't really "censorship" at all.......it's a joke, you know? It's not even a hard core hentai work to begin with, that's just the author's way of doing something (I'd have thought everybody would've got it) cute and funny with the scene.

I am just not a fan of it being done so blatantly. I would have preferred if the Author had done something different instead, like draw the main character in the way of the naughty parts or maybe just not done it instead of us getting this annoying type of censorship.

Alright i would for the sake of it have taken black bars, not mosaic as that alludes to actual hentai. I wanted some tasteful or minimal censorship. This type of censorship to me at least, feels cheap, low effort and it obscures the rest of the picture.

 

I mean monster musume is also not hentai, but you don't see them use this kind of censorship. Then again they do not censor the nipples. But when it comes to the more perverted scenes they change the view point or obscure the area with the environment. 

 

So in short i am not angry that they did censor it, i am angry at how they did it.

Dude it's a joke done by the artist poking fun at the censorship laws in Japan. This isn't fucking high art this is one of literally hundreds of "isekai power fantasy rpg harems", coincidentally this WN is also notoriously bad so don't expect the manga to last that long just like the many other isekai adaptations. There's a sort of inside joke among otaku in japan that they're currently in the "dark age" manga right now with publishers literally pulling these stories and cancelling trying to desperately find a hit.

Funny how they take the censorship away the next chapter:

 

For all i cared they can have all the shine and the chain go over her nipples to use as censorship, at least i feel like an effort is put in then.

I don't know if you watched all those ecchi fantasy anime like Shinmai Maou, that's pretty much the same kind of censorship that takes 80% of the screen.

 

You could also say it's a bait for people that care a bit too much about seeing nipples to buy the tankoubon and get an erection while reading something that isn't too good. Then again if you want something explicit you probably shouldn't hang around Japanese media because almost everything is black-barred or mosaic-ed.

 

As long as you don't see a nipple or any genitals, it's considered censored for Japan.

I watched Shinmai Moau, and boy did i hate the censorship in that, because i knew they had drawn the thing underneath..... also those "stickers" there filled up a whole lot.

 

And again, the original intent of this topic is to discuss how lazy they did the censorship in the 2nd chapter. Mosaic-ed means they put in some effort to censor it. Black bars means they only are censoring the minimal. But those stickers..... that is either because they are uncertain what they can show and rather censor it all or they are too lazy to do a decent job censoring in my book.

Actually there actually have been more effort done with the drawings because he had to actually draw a chibi version of a character, while mosaic is just selecting a zone with the mouse and choose a tool in photoshop.

There are graphic programs that does mosaics with just a click it is rather easy and coding for it mostly given as homework at graphical design or image processing courses in the first few weeks.

 

For op's question. No it is not lazy infact it is harder to do it this way since like it was mentioned before he needed to draw a chibi version of a character putting bars or mosaincs are far easier and can be done by anyone with a 10 min tutorial.

What people don't seem to realise is that this isn't by the author. This is a thing with the translators because they do the exact same in other mangas r=that they translate. So all the "It's a witty commentary on the state of cencorship in manga" people, no. Not in the slightest. It's just a shitty way of censoring it.
