Actually we've already seen Toda as a girl, Nakano, in Chapter 63 where Toda fantasized himself as a woman having sex with you.

Then they should enforce them across the board instead of at random when they feel like it.  I mean ffs the Tomo comment section is at least as bad as this one was.  I'd love to see them poke the bear and close that comment section.  Maybe they'll figure out that catering to 56k users isn't really necessary in 2017.

That's where you're wrong, kiddo. Bato is successful because of the community. The administrators can cut off their face to spite their nose, but they'll only be hurting themselves in the long run. Without people using the site and helping to generator ad revenue and support, there won't be a reason to keep it going.
 
It's also just good PR to not tell, y'know, the people you support on to go pound sand and do as they're told. Shocking.
 

I ask myself that same question, and the answer is "not much of one." As a lurker or a commentator I avoid the forums for many reasons. Namely they're either months/years old, or there's a bunch of threads/topics with only a post or two each (even for popular comics) and I don't feel like going through a dozen threads just to read to see if they're even worth reading/contributing to. Seems I'm not alone, otherwise we wouldn't have series that have 300+ pages of comments with less than a dozen forum posts in the last year. Combine the comments being recent and in general more open and easier to peruse quickly at your leisure and they're just more useful. Period.

 
Lol, yes Batoto wants visitors and members. But we dont want those who causes trouble. All sites have rules. I have to say our rules are fair.
First I like to remind you that you Are a New Sprout here. So you dont know what Batoto have been dealing what the last few years when it 
was more active than now. I must say I like how more peaceful it is now compare to then.

 

I have to disgaree with you on that part... If you have check  the members who donated to our sites, they donate as they support

our site. They do follow the rules for most part yet to see any one of them causing trouble... I dont see any who have any problem with our rules.

 

maybe if you donate to the site, the admins may make changes to our site but you are just still a sprout yet to be a potato/ shrugs

 
Even many of our old Potatoes respects the rules more than the many dozens new Sprouts that like to sprout reasons as to why it is 
unfair to _____ when they dont really contribute much.  Not saying all new ones are like that ^
 
You guys do know that as soon as you registered as a member, you accept to the terms/rules/conditions. I dont see the reason why 
it is unfair in anyway for any of us staffs to do our parts in moderation on Batoto if it is need.And if it is necessary, we do ban the ones
who ignore our warnings though of course that is our last option.  It wont be our first or our last [not that I like to see it happen].
 
If Anyone have a problem with the rules, you are freely to move to other sites. I guarantee you, we wont miss you.
If Anyone wants to report something, I do suggest that you do follow the right way of do so. 
 
We do have a Longer version of the comment section rules but that wont be fun to read and that wont be nice to rain more water on you than you need, rite?
The rules are guidelines but those guidelines is also rules.  confusing? Because the rules arent that specific, it is to let members have 
some freedom of expression but not to an certain extent. It is up to the moderators to assess which actions are necessary AS stated in the General Rules 
The exact application of the rules are at the discretion of the moderators and will be interpreted, adjusted, and modified as needed to fit new situations.

Also, if there's some sort of bribery etiquette, I'm pretty sure I'm supposed to offer you the bribe, not the way around. That said, I have no intentions of doing anything of the sort to attempt to influence the owners of the site. Frankly, I find the argument that enough of a problem is being caused to warrant a re-visit to the rules and looking into bylaws to be a more persuasive argument for change than supporters pushing for their sacred cow issues with money. If the rules worked, the comment section wouldn't have been shut down and still be so a month later and something that isn't working should be fixed - or at least reviewed to see if anything should/can be fixed.

 

That doesn't mean I have anything against donating to the site, but I also do it by means of supporting by visiting your guys' advertisement links and clicking on ads. Sure, that might be peanuts each time, but it adds up. And it means no conflict of interest on my behalf.

Hello everyone, first post of mine, sorry it's about this, but this is exact the same problem that happened on the comment section right? This was all about latest chapter, and I wanna see posts about that, not the rights or wrongs of rules, at least not here . It's happening all over again, the level of off-topicness is off the charts...(may be kinda hypocryte of me to say so but whatever, at least I finally said it)

I like this site for the community, the follow function (even though most sites alreayd have thhs), lack of ads and its respect to authors and translators combined. I still dislike the bugs in the website. It seemed more stable when i first joined, as if some kid accidentally made a few gibberish errors on his dad's computer and he had to fix it up or something. To be honest, FoolRulz released a pretty widespread reader application a few years back when their scanlation works sort of died off. Why not use it?

some bugs to mention:
-mobile mode tends to screw up on the forum and manga description pages
-reader fails to reset to the top of the page when going back, and then forward to the pages already visited

-when the reader resets to the top, it doesn't really reset to a desirable positon (since there aren't any ads, just reset to the top of the image or "press Z to zoom" hint, not to the top of the page list since its annoying to have to scroll on small pages that could be viewed in one go)
-Webcomic view sometimes has an oversized but not corrected image that isn't scaled properly. Usually happens on the scanlator's recruit or credit pages when they are sometimes ridiculously high definition..

-I'd like to have an option for webcomic view for all pages, especially if the third point isn't approved regardless if the fourth point may be considered to be fixed or not. The reason why i actually like kissmanga for series that aren't approved for batoto as a preference is simply because it has the optimal reader style. Of course, the foolrulz reader style doesn't support tihs, but batoto already supports the feature, so why not. If the website doesn't have ads per-page, then just load the whole chapter at once since having to request a new page every manga page is like telling someone to mop the house but only the living room, then only the kitchen, then only the hallways etc. rather than just telling them to mop the house..

Seriously, agreed with many of the people here who just want to read comments of the chapter, and not the drama of what's right and what's wrong about Batoto itself.  If you got issues about the system that is Batoto, bring it to Suggestions, Support, or even General Discussion.  This is NOT the place for all that.

 

As for the actual chapter - I think I'd be pretty freaked out if someone only really likes me just because I resemble a porn star.  It explains why Toda is always focused on the physical attributes of Nakano and all his sexual fantasies of her - but it also begs the question of how much does Toda actually know about Nakano (beyond his belief of the size of particular attributes).   As it stands, I feel that the fourth wheel Yashima knows more about Nakano than her two crushes combined.

Uhhh....you missed the point. I'm kind of getting tired of ppl thinking Toda is nothing but a despicable pervert. The sister said "his tastes CHANGED" in high school. And that Nanako is WHY. He fell in love with Nanako, and then became attracted to ppl who looked like her. This and the batoto argument is pretty annoying as well...

Yes, and that is exactly why locking the comment section, seemingly indefinitely, (we're almost at a full month now) rather than dealing with particular troublesome posts directly hinders our freedom of expression that you say these vague guidelines are supposed to promote.

You are right that it is up to the discretion of the moderators to interpret the rules. We also have every right to claim your interpretation in this particular instance is harsh and unwarranted. The fact that you won't explain your reasoning for locking the section makes it seem all the more like prejudice rather than moderation.

A moderator's job is to keep the peace. Intentionally riling them up by saying they won't be missed and suggesting that they should give money if they want to be taken seriously is completely counter to that idea. You mentioned that we should report issues with the comment section. This also applies to forum posts, and I can guarantee you that I have quoted yours in a pm to Grumpy, mhh, and seyrine.

Color me reactionary, but I think post after post (yours is the third so far this page) of people saying this and not-so-casually bringing up the topic when it could have died is just as - if not more so - annoying and derailing than the actual disagreement on the matter (at least that's constructive).

 

It's akin to someone complaining about two parties fighting long after fists have stopped flying. At some point you're just as guilty as instigating as the other parties.
