Hi,

So I downloaded a manga reader app for Android today (Tachiyomi) and in order to use Batoto I have to sync my account. However, I did not have a Batoto account yet. Therefore, I created one and in a lazy effort to save some time I decided to use my Twitter account.

I later realised that I could not log into Batoto in the application using my Twitter account and tried to create a new account. On trying to do so, however, I was informed that both my e-mail address as well as my username were already in use. I also tried disassociating my Twitter account from my Batoto account but all that did is prevent me being able to log in. I would then sign in using my Twitter account once more, and "connect to an existing forum account".

It looks like Batoto seems to think I have an account, but it does not allow me to use it since I first used my Twitter account to log in.

I realise this is probably my own faulty, but I would still appreciate If you could delete my information (username and e-mail) from your databases to allow me to make a new account. Obviously, I can't share that information here, so it would be nice if I could be pointed in the direction of an e-mail address I could send my query to.

Thanks for reading; I hope I can start using this awesome site for manga soon.

Hey,

This problem is solved. I'm the one who had asked this. For anyone who was stupid like I was, here's what I did.

Since the reason I couldn't make a new account was that I had already used my username and e-mail address via twitter, all I had to do was change my "Display name" and my e-mail address in the options of the account I no longer wanted to use; i.e. the one connected to my twitter. I then simply created a new account since the e-mail address and Display name I wanted to use were no longer active.

Have you considered, like, simply using password recovery to get a password for your account after dissociation?

I guess the account initially using twitter to register causes an exception from the rule, because normally names you register with are taken for logging in purposes and any "display name" changes do not affect your account/login name.

For the record, account deletion = email one of admins with the email you used for that account (iirc there's a handy list of admin emails in the warning appeal guidelines thread)

Yup, I had tried that multiple times, but every time I used the username and password they sent me I still couldn't log in.

I didn't know that. If that's the case then maybe the reason I could use the account name was because after changing the e-mail address, I didn't verify the new one. So maybe the account is not considered to "exist".

Thanks for the information! Hopefully, from now on, I won't need it, but it's good to know, regardless.
