I hate death games tragedy porn genre.  But lets set that aside a moment.

He didn't commit suicide! Getting yourself killed trying to save someone is not suicide. And this implies a god, so why would god be allowing some clown to do this? For that matter I never did believe the bible says you go to hell for suicide. The reasoning is that because ten commandments say "Thou shall not kill" and killing yourself is killing meant, and you can't ask for forgiveness after killing yourself. But that's just assumptions.

Contradictions.

Chapter 1 page 42

This page has two contradictions in itself. He's pleased in the top panel, and not pleased in the panel below it.

I won't kill/I will crush this game without killing or being killed.

"Who should I kill."

Then latter, he indicated he didn't want to kill her, even though he somehow figured out she was lying. So he will kill everyone else except for her which he thinks is a liar? Or not kill anyone, which is it?!?

Another point.

Enforced glass would be hard to talk through, it is a rather effective sound barrier.  There is a reason speakers are put in visiting booths in prison and service person protected booths even with openings at the bottom of the divider to pass items.  They would need to be shouting their conversations trying to convince each other with alot of "what did you say!?! Speak up!" Why not just say there is a magical barrier that prevents the lions from crossing over. This genre type, the runner of the game always has endless nonsensical power, so magical barrier would make more sense.

Well I think Ill follow so I can see what kind of explanation it gives, if it makes any sense at all in chapter 2. But not a good start.

One thing about this comic, perhaps these folks aren't dead. Perhaps they were brought to a hospital and someone kidnapped em, faking their deaths with insane political pull. Not saying that is likely considering the genre, death game genre, the ones running the games have unmatched power, so might as well make it about a being that can kill people already dead.

Read Kakegurui. It did get better after first part. But only a bit. And it also confirms my fears. Even in the setting where it's just insane political power, and not the ability to set up death matches with people against their will who have already died, Kakegurui goes overboard, like with the "life plan". The "life plan" part of Kakegurui suggests that Purgatory  will be typical bad death game genre.

1. It's not contradiction, people emotion change in a second.
So, it's normal for MC to change from pleased to not pleased in a second, moreover in this kind of situation.

2. He said he won't kill, not neccessary means he'll stop other to kill another person.
His original plan was to let him vs hana ended up as draw then let the last 2 survivor kill each other.

3. About enforced glass it actualy simple. Either they use microphone or there are few small hole for sounds to go through.
Or even simple solution : this is purgatory realm anyway, not every science law can be applied here.

The only weak point is the manga play death game on people who already want to die (suicide)
Where is the risk? They already died so why bother to not die again

seihanda, seems you are one of those people who reply to stuff without really reading what they are replying to. My point was, why use something as mundane as reenforced glass yet ignore it's properties instead of simply just saying the lions can't cross because of a magical barrier or just because.

People generally don't go switching back between not only emotions but objectives over and over without any new input.

With this new game. chapter 3 page 12

"We are all resurrected unless everyones annihilated so anyone who wants to live is a obstacle."

A obstacle to what? You mean those who want out of the game by final death?

"I want to live!"  "what? does everyone want to die then?"

Huh?

"We got a idiot" "She's definitely going to be targeted by everyone"

So he's assuming everyone in the game wants a final death exit out of the game, that only he wants to win?

One big issue is, why would the killer kill everyone? I mean assuming the killer wanted to gain the most kills and remain in the game to get their wish, assuming the killer wasn't suicidal, then they would want to lose. They'd want to kill all but one or two people.  That way no chance of everyone dying thus no one resurrects scenario. If the killer valued only their own self and not anyone else, that still could mean the last kill could be a mutual kill where both die attacking each other, and then everyones dead and noone resurrects. But if the killer kills all but one or two, would still keep their kill number, but no risk.  So really, anyone who is not the killer who wanted to win would simply avoid those who wanted to die. And if the killer happened to be someone who wanted to live/win, they would play to not kill everyone.
