So we know that SIU is an avid fan of football (what with all the characters he's named after players etc.) and it dawned on me several weeks ago that there are 11 Slayers positions in FUG and 11 members that make up Zahard & the 10 Great Warriors. Football is an 11-a-side sport with two teams... sooooooooo...

The greatest football match in the history of the Tower !!

 

 

So, my question to you is:

If you were the manager of one of these teams (either FUG 11 or Zahard 11), which 11 characters would you pick to play in your team, what football positions would you put them in and why (if you can be asked hahaha) ?

Obviously, characters that have been affiliated with FUG at any part of the story can only play for the FUG 11 (yes that includes Baam) and characters that are members of the 10 Great Families or the Zahard Family can only pay for the Zahard 11 (I don't care if Jinsung and Hoaqin are from Great Families, they're FUG 11 players !!). Characters not affiliated to either can kick either way... hmmm I suppose you could have a Wolhaiksong 11 if you wanted...

 

My Team: FUG 11 (4-3-3)

GK - Hwa Ryun: she's a Guide, great for shot stopping and saving penalties !

RWB - Angel: needed someone to play right wingback and I wasn't picking Reflejo...

RCB - Varagarv: strong defensive capabilities, he'll be the brute in my defence !

LCB - Augusgus: looks cool as a cucumber to pair with the Mad Dog.

LWB - Karaka: needed someone to play left wingback and I wasn't picking Reflejo...

CDM - Yu Han Sung: the playmaker and mastermind to orchestrate my team's play !!

RCM - Grace Mirchea Luslec: the captain of the squad !

LCM - Ha Jinsung: need a physical powerhouse to fill my midfield !

RW - Buelsar Elliot: attack, attack, attack !

LW - Jyu Viole Grace: the youngster with world-class potential, if he's on his game he'll be my match winner !

ST - Hoaqin/White: something about him just screams, "striker of your team"; he's the poacher that'll score all my goals !

I remember when I had made a funny comment about football and ToG once.

But apparently, the ensuing madness and derailment that occured prompted 101010 to delete every single comment on the subject, so I never got to see any of it in the first place.

To this day, I still wonder what the thread was like and what everybody did to derail the thread to the extend they did.

Football + ToG + Batoto Forums = Shitstorm ? 

Well, back in the day, when the Company was still scanlating and they made the coke-to-bubbles ratio just right -now it being either too much coke or too many bubbles-, there were a lot more of us and while things were strict (at least stricter than nowadays) and more grammatically upright, sometimes a gem or two would spawn that would derail a thread a little faster than a train without rails. 

Mostly because we needed to wait for entire hours and sometimes days for scanlations to come, our only information coming from either translators that chose not to join the Company, like LaFa and later the bird, Random Webtoon Fan the First, or trying to find all the little details that we may or may not have missed during our first read. Hell, back then it was sometimes even a game to find out what SIU was referencing, be it with Emile and the legend of the bell, or which football player inspired the new character's name.

(Admittedly, it didn't take long for us to figure out that tights keep disappearing when Baam leaves from a scene or a female character leaves from Baam's vicinity... Even Novick lost a pair of shorts once, but hey, it's Novick we are talking about. He has a fine ass.) But overall, those were simpler, yet different times, when topics like Rachel's ambiguity were still fresh and harem jokes were just about as tasteful as a sandwich is without bread.

Nowadays, you could regard this entire ToG forum as dead.

I mean, it kind of is, since all of the old regulars are gone and the newcomers don't stay around all that long to begin with...

...Sigh...

...Also, Hwa Ryun as a goalie?

The one character with a certified lack of depth perception?

You might as well have an empty goal.

Ahhhhhh I see. I came late to the ToG party in general, only started reading it at the very end of 2013. I'm actually surprised I never joined Batoto earlier (especially considering I used to read ToG here before LINE came along). But yeah I know the feeling of being one of the last ones left... T-T

I assume you and 101010 are the only Rankers left in this Tower we call Batoto's Tower of God forums ?

 

Oh and as for Hwa Ryun being my goalie, who needs depth perception when you can read and accurately predict the path the ball is going to go  (would've picked Evan over her but he ain't FUG).
