REAVER

Bynn the Breaker

Reaver snarled. Regeneration. On one hand, it would prolong the suffering of a victim. On the other she had more than enough to go around and this would drag things out annoyingly long. To make matters worse, the frog had something called Toxic Skin. Apparently when taking a hit they poison the attacker. Meaning this was not a fight that could be dragged out. Worst of all - neither frogs had seemed in a hurry to fight back. Meaning one of two things. Either they only made devour-style attacks or they were content to let their poison and regeneration do their work.

Of course, Reaver wouldn't go down without a fight. Hit the thing enough times and her bleed would overwhelm it's regeneration. She might die but she'd see this thing broken at her feet before she did.

It would be better if she could take this thing out WITHOUT dying, however. Which meant she would have to go poking around for critical spots. With one slash she aimed at the circular spot frogs had on the side of their head - the ear? - and finished with a jab at the frogs lower side. She still wanted to avoid being in front of it's mouth. If anything, that is where the danger was.

dotMaria

Part Two: Paralysis sucks, but I feel like this also happened in a shitty anime…

It would seem the fates were to go against the goddess today – MARIA saw stars as the bottle landed right on her head, striking right on the top of her glorious blonde hair. The pain felt like it went right through the association cortex and down to the medulla oblongata: she was probably exaggerating, but to MARIA, this was what it was like to have your head split open.

Paralyzed on the ground, MARIA couldn’t even sniffle at the embarrassment that had just occurred to her – she was brought down by Newton, and she cursed the day that the man discovered gravity, because if it weren’t for that, the game would have never bothered replicating such a bothersome rule for the sake of “realism”. In her heart, she began to curse the many physicists who the world praise to be geniuses: no, if it weren’t for them, and their stupid formulas, and their dumb laws, then the game developers would have had no idea how to mathematically create gravity in their cyber world.

They would have to give up, and praise be if they did – but MARIA’s luck was not kind to her, and now she had to wait for someone else to give her a remedy.

And luckily, one came! MARIA wondered if the kind girl pouring the bitter drink down her throat was the one who had managed to hit MARIA in the head, but the goddess shall forgive this girl – after all, it was the fault of Newton, not this nice and worried woman.

In a moment, the paralysis disappeared, and MARIA pushed off her back and jumped into the air, landing square on her feet. With a deep breath, MARIA ran straight back to the cliff, and began ascending it once more, intent on catching up to Mikazuchi and get to Blue – MARIA had a sword, and a swordsman wins on higher ground…well, she wouldn’t be able to slash at the enemy anyways.
