Chapter 1: The Struggle for Existence

Day 1
As a young goblin opens their eyes for the first time, they see the face of one of the elders of their kind. Wrinkles sprinkle her face and she smiles down on the newborns.

"This generation looks strong." She says with a light smile.

The older goblin picks one of the younglings up and examines it. She begins dipping her thumb in a paint-like substance as she christens each one with their names. This is where you were born. This is where your legend begins.

Day 3

Rays of light made its way into the cavern where over a dozen young goblins had just awoken. With their bodies drastically changed, most were already up and about,  familiarizing and adapting themselves to their matured physiques. Although similar to a school-aged child in appearance, these monsters were more than capable of fending for themselves.

A few hours had passed and most of the young goblins were more than accustomed to their new selves. Their attention was no redirected towards the dilemma their instincts were telling them about. Echoes of rumbling stomachs were heard throughout their lair; hunger had finally struck their famished bodies.

Some were unsure on how to address this problem. Patch was a perfect example. With no means of feeding himself, he proceeded to hit the cave walls with his fists. Certain areas were quite brittle and practically eroded, resulting in several fist-sized holes and an ample amount of ruble. Seeing the product of his temperamental behavior, Patch smiled,  grabbed a handful of rocks, and devoured them. He was desperate, ignorant, and sort of idiotic; it was an honest mistake. Coughing out the inedible and flavorless debris, Patch was left even more furious than before.

Close to him was Mu. She had been following Patch for as long as the day had started. Sadly, everything Patch had did, she had exactly followed. In the end, she was left with a mouth full of rocks, an empty stomach, and aching fists.

Some goblins such as Zeru did not let himself get distracted by his hunger just yet as he spent most of his morning actively running and jumping around the cave, interacting with every single thing that breathed, moved or he thought could move. The rest, on the other hand, had yet to get used to the sudden change their bodies had underwent. A prime example was probably Jiji. The number of he had fell over due to no apparent reason other than what seemed like poor motor skills, was excessive to say the least.

A select few remained cautious, such as Jin and Rin. Quiet and aloof, they simply kept on looking around, probably observing their surroundings and silently judging the behavior of the other goblins around them. Among all from their generation, Jin and Rin were likely to be the most logical ones. Sadly, neither knew one was aware of this just yet. Maybe if they became more acquainted with each other, but that's a story for another day.

Patch

Morning was hungry and Patch was rocks. Or his stomach was rocks. Or ate rocks. Whatever the case, Patch decided he didn't like rocks. Never again would he befoul his mouth with rocks. One more insult from the rocks and he would refuse to let them touch his skin at all too. It might make living in a cave difficult, but Patch didn't think that far ahead.

In a fury he put his fist through the time-weakend surface of the cave wall once more, roaring out in anger. Something that, from a three day old Goblin didn't actually sound all that impressive. He stamped his feet as he looked around, hungry, angry and looking for something to kill. All he saw was other Goblins. He couldn't eat those, could he? Probably not. After all he was a goblin, and he couldn't eat himself. So surely he couldn't eat other goblins. This annoyed him. All he saw was Goblins and his new mortal enemy, rocks...

And then he saw the cave entrance.

Maybe there was something that was... not in the cave? Was there a not-cave place? It seemed mad. Insane. It seemed just crazy enough that he should maybe try eating rocks again and double check he hadn't imagined them not working for food. But he wouldn't try again. Never again. He had sworn vengeance against the rocks many long seconds ago. They would get no second chance.

He muttered and grumbled something about killing rocks and not-caves as he walked across the large room he had never yet left. It was time. Time to find out if he was just crazy. Time to find out if there was such a thing as a not-cave place! Time for food! "FOOOOD!" He roared as loudly as he could and ran full speed out of the cave.

Jin

3 days old and he's already aware he's in a cave full of dumb smelly goblins, even counting himself among them. Well, maybe he's not aware but I sure am! You'd think as a narrator you'd be attached to some valiant and noble hero, that can at least form a proper sentence. But noooooo, a goddamn newborn goblin!! Anyways, back to the 'story'. Jin felt the need to sit back and away from the rest of the cave and observe, whether or not the other dumb goblins are worthy of following. That's where his limited attention span was directed in the direction of a certain rock eating goblin who was hungry. Upon hearing, and glaring at, his stomach growl, he too was hungry.

After hearing said goblin shout food, he quietly confirmed to himself that he too likes food and thought he'd be a good one to follow. As he got up to leave and follow after him, he noticed another goblin who was sitting and staring like him. Concluding she must like food, he walked over to Rin to recruit her. He considered smashing her head with a rock and dragging her along but then he'll be assisting the rocks and he just couldn't have that. So he decided on a new sales pitch. "Ugly.Hunt." he grunted as he pointed towards Patch, not really giving her time to answer. Having left Rin, now given the affectionate nick name of Ugly, and upon kicking quite the amount of dirt in her face as he passed her, he followed after Patch and that other weird goblin.

Having caught up to patch, he offered his services. "Like.Food.Too." he grunted as the birth to a new and outright stupid partnership was born.

Rin

Having spent literally her entire life (which is still only 3 days long, may I remind you) amongst her stupid and ugly kin, Rin was convinced that she's the most beautiful, and the most intelligent creature in the known universe. See that rock-eating goblin with uneven coloration right there? Dumb and ugly. Rin would not eat rocks. No, she knew better than that. The rock is too big and too hard to eat. Instead, you eat dirt. Yes, DIRT! It's soft, it's colored in rich brown, and you can literally take a small pinch of it at one time, so you would not choke on it! See, Rin is far more wise than the rest of the lot.

With this brilliant plan in her mind, she decided to show other gobs how it's done and grabbed a small handful of soft, succulent soil and gave it a little tasting. And boy oh boy, does it taste BAD! Rock is bad. Dirt is bad. Thus Rin concludes that unmoving things that's laying around the cave are simply bad things that you cannot eat. See, this is why Rin is different from other goblin. She is WISE. She learns from the past mistakes; she takes all the information in and moves on to a better direction. How wonderful is that?

Which is why she quickly agrees to this other gob's idea, who so kindly called her 'ugly' (which must be a wonderful word to describe her immaculate self, she thought) to follow the Patchy gob's footsteps and set their foot outside the misbegotten cave.

"After you. Fugly," Rin responded to Jin. How kind of her, right? She even made up a nickname that's a step higher than 'ugly' for her new friend.

Day 3 - Patch, Jin, and Rin

Thwarted by the sinister and unappetizing flavor of rocks and dirt, the young goblins made their way to the outside world. Ankle-deep in the brackish waters of the Vasyugan Marsh, they were left with no choice but to traverse wetlands, in hopes of acquiring food that was actually worth eating.

With clenched fists and a slanderous mouth, Patch sullenly led the way. Hidden by his savage behavior and raw goblin bravado, it was obvious that Patch was some sort of leader in the making. With his fists full of anger and nothing but the thought of satisfying his hunger on his mind, he was definitely destined for greatness.

Jin and Rin allowed Patch to do as he pleased as they slowly and nonchalantly followed him from behind. Although not that fond of each other that much, the two were apparently similar in certain ways. It may have not been obvious, but a dynamic duo was probably being born. However, before they were given the chance to get to know each other, Patch had ran towards them, pushing both goblins to the ground.

Such unruliness was unreasonable, but before the two could utter a word, they saw Patch gesturing them to keep quiet and look up ahead. Exuding an extremely potent sweet scent was a Mushroom Crab. It remained idle and non-moving, but was releasing a rather putrid aroma that was only masked by the malodorous scent of its surroundings. Most creatures would be cautious when approaching something so foul-smelling.

Were the three goblins, who were laying in wait, like most creatures or were they willing to take the risk?

Jin

Upon consolidating their new partnership bound by the promise of food... quite big words for a story about goblins, huh? Errrrr continuing, now where was I...Oh Yeaa, Bound by the promise of food, they made their way out of the caves and marched throw wet slimey stuff as they tried to find some food. It felt weird at first, but Jin thought the squishing between his wasn't bad so he allowed it.

He was still wrapping his head around, more like wrapping something around his head, his hand, as he was thinking about having been called something strange and dumb sounding back in the cave, Jin's body seemed to move own it's own for some reason, upon remember the name, as he tripped Rin and kicked dirt in her face, along with actually kicking her in the face as he followed after Patch, who was now strangely running right towards them. Not really getting it he and Rin, who was in the process of getting back off the ground, was pushed into the ground.

Before they had time to respond, Patch motioned for them to be quiet and pointed to something potentially yummy. Given it's potent smell, the strange purple things on its shell and the way nothing was coming near it, it was obviously suspicious. No one would be stupid enou----Obviously not listening to the Narrator, Jin was in the process of picking up a number of rocks off the ground. The Narrator, having put up with Jin's stupid actions in the 2 previous incarnations of this story, simply gave up with a resounding face palm.

Pointing to the crab and doing some air motions with the rocks, he looked back at the others. "Throw," dropping the rocks then motioning with his fists, "Smash?" Jin thought it was a brilliant plan, if he knew what the words brilliant and plan meant that is.

Patch

Patch climbed off the two other Goblins whom he'd pushed to the floor, made a 'shhh' gesture. Though Patch's idea of a 'shhh' gesture was slapping his hands over peoples mouths. He realized suddenly just then that he didn't know the two Goblin's names. That could be a problem he thought. Not knowing names makes it hard to talk to Goblins who have names. Because they don't know who you are talking about. And that might be a problem whilst looking for food. As a solution he decided to call them both 'You' to avoid confusion. "You and You," Patch said, "look." He removed his hands from their mouths and gestured to the strange something he had found. He didn't know what it was. He didn't even have the slightest idea. But it was definitely alive. And it was definitely not a Goblin or a Rock, the two things Patch had recently discovered to be un-eatable. That must mean that this thing, whatever it was, was, "Food."

Now, Patch wasn't aware of how well You, or indeed You, could smell. Or, as it may be, how well they couldn't smell in comparison to himself. He wasn't aware that he himself had been born with senses that were on the high-end of the sensitivity scale. So he didn't feel the need to explain anything about how this thing smelled. Or how nothing else that was living was getting anywhere near it. Well, it was partly because he assumed You and You would already have known this stuff. But mostly it was because he didn't care. He wasn't going to miss out on food when he was this hungry.

About now You began collecting rocks. Patch had no idea why he or she would do such a thing, but he decided to wait around and find out. After all, maybe it had something to do with getting the food. But, he decided, if You suggested eating the rocks he was going to punch You in the face and not share his food with them. Luckily You didn't seem to be wanting to eat the rocks. That was good for You. Patch had made that mistake before. And never again would he fall for the rock's dirty tricks.

Shortly after all of Patch's deep thought, You went on to detail a very long and elaborate plan that Patch didn't quite follow. Mainly, Patch didn't understand why they would team up with the rocks. Rocks were his mortal enemy. He would not do such a thing. Instead he leapt out of the bushes and straight at the food-thing he'd found. If he was successful at closing the gap he sound scratch and bite and punch the food until it was, hopefully, much less alive and much more willing to be eaten.

Mu

It had been three days since Mu graced this reality, she was a weird existence. Stupid beyond what should be permissible, it seems that grey cells were something that just looked grey to her. As she had gotten up she had seen a rampaging goblin much like herself but he had strange patches all over his himself. Perhaps that meant that he was the special one. The one worthy of her servitude.

As he began pummeling the walls with his bare fists, Mu energetically followed him and started doing the same. After he had collected some fairly decent sized chunks of whatever they were hitting, he put them in his mouth. Mu proceeded to do the same. It was tasteless or a bit loamy. The texture was unappetizing and thus Mu didn't dare to swallow it she felt the pain throb in her fists.

She looked around for someone more capable from this goblin and noticed a sharp looking goblin like herself. Already have procured something like a stick and sucking on something squishy.which looked really tasty. She also had a few more near her. Mu quickly went to the girl and sat down next to her, her eyes filled with hopeful tears and her face distorted from the stuffed rocks, drool seemed to have found a way to seep out.

She just sneakily tried to grab one of the squishy things as she smiled at the other girl. The rocks suddenly shifted in her mouth and fell out. She fumbled a request by picking the beetle at holding it in front of the girl.

"Mu eat?" she said to Mi.

Rin / Ugly / You

A brisk walk later, the uncanny trio stumbled upon a curious looking creature. It's like rock, but seems more squishy. A bit like dirt, but it can hold its shape like a rock. Curious indeed.

For the short while the trio examined the creature, it does not seem to move. And since it doesn't move, Rin concludes that the thing is bad, just like rock or dirt. Before she managed to convince the other two gobs to find better food, however, she saw the thing twitching slightly from the corner of her eyes.

"Sneaky," Rin muttered as she continued watching the thing a bit longer, completely oblivious to Fugly's whole-hearted, passionate tactical meeting.

Then, a few seconds later Patch jumped out of his hiding and towards the half-inanimate-half-animate thingy while Fugly throws some rocks at it. Seeing that the two of 'em have all the bases covered, Rin decided to take two of the relatively jagged rocks and climbed one of the nearby tree.

The plan she had in mind was simple. Dive on top of the curious thingy with a sharp rock on each hand and get it done with. Or, you know, watch the other two gobs do all the dirty work while she sits lazily on top of the tree. It all boils down to how the situation progresses, really.

Jiji

Day 1
Much like any other day, except it's the first. You know that, don't you? Don't you? What do you know, anyway?

You are alive.

At the moment, that was the thought that Jiji had came to. Or felt. No. It was, perhaps, suggested? Jiji was unable to follow this thought. The simple fact that he was breathing was enough for him, and it alone allowed him to remain still throughout the remainder of the night. Or was it morning? He couldn't make out much of the scenery, anyway. What with that shadow looming over him, ridding his ears with the absence of silence. And yet, these words were still unclear to him, muffled and indistinct towards what would be considered fellow kin and language. What was language, anyway? Jiji passed it off and simply fell back into sleep.

"This generation looks strong."

But did they, though?

Day 3
Yes, you are alive. You are also hungry. You want to eat, don't you?

By now, Jiji had grown accustomed to the passage of time, much like the others. No. It was fair to say that he had his own perception of time, and simply believed the others had followed along to his tune. He didn't think on it much. He didn't have the need to. The rays that occasionally spilled through the cave was enough, and detailed a simplistic image for him. Yes, just being here was truly enough. But was it really? It had seemed that his own perception of things, and the general perception of things simply did not add up. For instance, the other Goblins, for some reason, decided to walk upright... and on their feet, of all things! Jiji could not comprehend. Was walking on all fours not enough? And again, in another instance, these very same Goblins had even decided to band together and rough house, wrestling amongst each other in an awkward display of gestures in antics. Weren't their four feet used for walking? Jiji really could not comprehend.

You've been quiet for some time now. Why don't you speak up, introduce yourself to the class?

It had never dawned in him that those words he had heard in previous days were of meaning to him. They were words, right? Noise? A different kind of silence. Sound? Just how were they doing that, anyway? Jiji thought it to be a pain. Simply trying to practice, he lifted his jaw, poorly mimicking the gestures made by his kin, and ended up biting into his own tongue. If there were any language in more dire need of a translation, it was the one coming from him, as he reeled back and forth, groaning out in his own displeasure. Did we even begin to mention, that at the time, Jiji had even tried to do that "two-legged" walk thing? Yes, he was even upright, too. But balance was not a friend to Jiji, at the time, and so, stumbling into the other Goblins was a more suitable thing for him. Not that he would feel it. Not that he would care for it, rather. But maybe someone else would? Goblin Tok might not be so accepting to the idea, or maybe he would? After all, he did just finish wrestling with the other Goblins, Kaga, Lo and Bob.

Awa

Awa rolled onto his belly, feeling the cold floor of his nursery against his sternum and navel. He laid there for several moments, slowly working out the kinky and cramps in his arms and legs. Awa pulled his face up from the ground, eyes still closed, and let out a sound that was neither a moan, nor grunt, nor groan, nor a yell. Just a sound, audible like most. Opening his eyes for the first time, or what he felt was the first time, Awa saw a sea of green limb, and green bodies, and green heads shuffling about him. Looking at his own body as he rolled to the side Awa realized that he too was green. Those around him were just like him, or maybe he was like they. Either way, they were all the same to a degree. Awa picked himself up off the floor in the lethargic way that only a person with no purpose nor sense would. He just did it because he was clearly meant to stand when not sleeping, walk at times even. Indeed, Awa had very little sense of what to do. All he felt was a deep, primal desire. Less want, more need. An urge. Hunger, he would soon some to call it. Awa rubbed his stomach briefly, he knew by instinct alone that he needed to eat. To consume something. He just wasn't sure what. Awa looked around. One of his kin attempted to eat the nursery and promptly regurgitated the grey and brown debris. So that wasn't food. That goblin then left with a few others to somewhere else. It then dawned on Awa that there was more... space. Other places existed besides the dark, cold cave. Maybe it was just more cave, maybe it was something else entirely. Awa decided to go there, maybe food would be there he thought. Mimicking the trio he saw leave, Awa approached Mi and Sen. "Hungry? Want food? Lets hungry for food there", said Awa, pointing to the exit of the cave.

Day 3 - Mu, Mi, Awa, and Sen

“Uhm, no thanks.” Said Mi in the most polite manner she could think way. Sadly, she still appeared condescending. At this point, Mi had already accepted the fact that everyone around her was a slobbering fool who only thought with the stomachs. She was more than prepared on how to handle these sorts of goblins.

Teary-eyed and drool-laden with a face distorted by what seemed to be rocks, Mu seemed to be a lost cause waiting to happen. However, Mi had noticed that despite her apparent stupidity, Mu had quite the body. Compared to the rest of her kind, Mu’s physique was a bit for defined and robust. Behind this mass of muscle was probably a significant amount of strength. Mi knew that she could use this to her advantage.

Being on a whole other caliber when it came to intelligence didn’t mean that Mi was excused from the lowly troubles that most young goblins struggle from; she too was hungry. She had already understood the concept of hunting for food, but she was well aware of her inability to do so. Mi was a thinker, not a fighter, but luckily for her, she had met someone who could do all those things for her.

“I am Goblin Mi” said Mi as she smiled towards Mu.

“Insects are too small.” Mi said as she was gesturing with her hands on how tiny the beetle Mu offered her was.

“We should find bigger things to eat outside. They will taste amazing.” Spreading arms wide apart before rubbing her belly, she had hoped that Mu would understand what she was trying to say.

“Let’s go”

The moment they left, two other goblins joined their group; Sen and Awa. Considering herself to be the unspoken leader, Mi disliked the idea of travelling in large groups. It would attract more attention and could lead to unfavorable situations, but this time was an exemption. Sen seemed like the type who thought before he acted; was this due to his cool-head or was he just afraid? Mi was certain. Awa on the otherhand was quiet and gave of the same vibe that Mi did; this gave her some reasurrance.

The four ventured into the depths of the Vasyugan Marsh; filled with various creatures, it was a dangerous place to be even for a monster. Mu was fortunate that she was with Mi, Awa, and Sen; being her ever cautious and calm self, she had managed to avoid getting into troublesome situations.

USXOYJH.jpg

They had encountered a Swamp Moose earlier, but considering the difference in size and strength, she knew that hunting such a creature would be a waste of time and could prove to be too perilous. They eventually stumbled upon a clearing free of any forms of water; it was just various plants and rocks, in the center, were nests of eggs as large as their goblin-sized heads. It was unfortunate that two Angler Frogs had gotten there before they had.

qweJhT7.jpg?1

The group of goblins were obviously noticed by the feasting Angler Frogs. Egg shells and what remained of their insides were scattered across the clearing as they continued to veraciously consume their meal. Although only half the size of goblins, these creatures were known for their ferociousness and fearlessness even when facing larger foes.

Zeru

The cave was nice. However outside was better, it was something Zeru felt at a very intrinsic level in his little being. Though his instincts disagreed, they claimed that outside was dangerous. Outside was full of scary large goblin eating things. It had lightning and fire, none of which were particularly goblin friendly. However he was at that point in goblin developement, where they stop drinking that gunk called  Gobu Milk. So for the first time in a long time, he felt a rumble in his tummy. He ignored it and contunued galavanting about the cave, stuck in between the motions of running away and jumping out onto the wilderness.

It was after sometime that hunger came back, only this time came back with much more force and smacked him in the back of the head. Thereby activating a new set of instincts, these smothered all the other instincts. Theses ones cajoled him with smell of blood, the taste of fresh meat and the adrenaline within the hun. These were the instincts of a predator, they also told him that he would need a pack to hunt, a lone goblin was a mostly dead goblin.

So Zeru srambled to stop, sliding a good few feet before stopping fully. He made his way to a rock, it was big and it put him on a pedestal. He took in a deep breath and made the customary call for a pack. "I Zeru! Who Hungry! Who want food! Come to Zeru! Zeru help! Zeru Hunt!"

Day 3 - Tok, Kaga, Lo, Bob, Jiji, and Zeru

Unlike those who had left their cave to hunt for food, a few goblins had stayed behind. Not as physically adept as the others, Jiji, Bob and Kaga spent their morning fooling around; this was perfectly acceptable behaviour given that they were only a few days old.

Along with them was Lo. She was stern in comparison to the three she was with and had no interest in the buffoonery that was going on in front of her. Sighs and rolling of her eyes were all she could do as she sat in silence. She was beginning to question herself on why she decided to stay inside the cave. Another goblin had passed her, it was Tok. Similar to her, he also gave off an expression of seriousness. He was distant from the rest of his kind and left their home alone. He would have left sooner, but it took him a while to get used to his matured body.

Seeing how independent Tok was, Lo felt ashamed. Being too passive and simply waiting for something to happen wasn’t going to ge ther anywhere. Quickly getting up, she followed Tok without saying a word. Without a word or a second thought, she left Jiji, Bob, and Kaga.

The three continued to wrestle and were left clueless as number of goblins in their cave started to dwindle. Suddenly, a hunger-filled scream, that echoed their home, grabbed their attention.

"I Zeru! Who Hungry! Who want food! Come to Zeru! Zeru help! Zeru Hunt!"

Jiji’s initial blank stare turned to that of awe as his inner goblin had realized that he was a predator. He knew that predators needed prey, and prey meant food. Kaga remained oblivious to everything and just started to gnaw on a rock he had found on the floor. Bob reaction to the loud noise he had heard was fright. His cowardly personality erupted as he hid behind Jiji.

With nothing but hunting and eating on his mind, Jiji dragged both Bob and Kaga along and approached Zeru. A brief exchange of names had taken place and was followed by the creation of another four-goblin group.

Day 3 - Patch, Jin, and Rin

Meticulous and carefulness planning along with a cool head were what it took to survive in the wilderness. Jin knew that all too well as he devised a well thought of strategy on how to take down the Mushroom Crab. Throwing and smashing were key fundamentals of any hunter, basics that all had to master. Jin was one step ahead of them, as he explained to his fellow goblins, in the best way he could, the rationale for the tactics he came up with.

It was unfortunate, but Patch was five steps ahead of him, or at least that was the number of steps he took as he leapt out from the bushes, recklessly charging towards the Mushroom Crab. Riled up by Patch’s actions, Rin and Jin joined him, haphazardly flinging rocks towards their target. The Mushroom Crab was hit, but remained unphased as only its mushroom-like shell was hit. Most missed its mark and some had hit Patch in the process, but these had only grazed the ravenous goblin; measly rocks weren’t enough to stop Patch.

As Jin continued his rock-filled onslaught, Rin had other plans. She was either foolish or ingenious; it would depend on what results she would get. Albeit having a few scratches, Patch had reached his prey and begun assaulting it with all his pent up rage. And from above him was Rin, who had successfully mounted the Mushroom Crab.

The hunt was easier than expected, or so they thought. Although delayed, the Mushroom Crab let loose a shriek, releasing a spore-like mist in its wake, as it attempted to run away. Patch and Rin’s begun to cough and their eyes started to water. They were unaware whether they were poisoned or not, but one thing was certain, the pungent odor that came from the Mushroom Crab had worsened.

Victory was within their grasp, but leaving the hunt unscathed was unlikely. At least for Rin and Patch.

OOC: Rin and Patch's visions are blurred, nostrils are runny, and are continuously coughing; think of it as a gradually worsening allergic reaction.

Mu

As expected the other Goblin was strong. Not physically, she looked much like everyone else apart from Mu who was bigger than anyone else but something else. She suggested that there was even better food outside the cave they were in. Mu's eyes widened in wonder as she just bowed down to the divine presence that was before her.

"Mu is Mu." she said too naive to form good sentences. She saw Mi put a hand on her face and shake her head but it seemed she was still happy to be Mu's master.

Seein or rather feeling her power two others had also decided to tag along. They were two males, Sen and Awa. They both exuded an aura like Mi but were perhaps a bit weaker than her. The four goblin party wandered into the swamp, searching for tasty food that Mi had promised and soon they came upon something big. Though Mu wasn't intimidated, the others quickly hid from the creature as it just looked at them non-chalantly. Perhaps she was to act like Mi who was superior to her but Mu felt no fear. Maybe that's what is called Fool's courage.

Mi convinced the party to look for some other food and soon they came upon a nest. Tasty eggs lay in there, as large as their heads. Mu drooled so much that the thick branch that she had been given courtesy of Mi had been completely soaked. Just then they saw two frogs attempt to steal their food. Mu was angry and hungry but Mi brought everyone together and formed a vague plan.

Mu understood nothing of it but she was explained in simpler terms. She was to go in the clearing and gather their attention while the other three goblins will surround them from three sides. Just as they'll charge Mu, the goblins will attack them from the back. Mi wasa confident that Mu could atleast understand this much. Just as security, she gave her a serious stare and nodded. Mu was drooling cluelessly at this whole thing, seemed to straighten up at this gesture and nodded back.

Perhaps, there was a bit redemption for this poor soul, Mi thought to herself as Sen, Awa and Mi began spreading out while Mu walked by herself into the clearing.

She banged the floor heavily with her branch, growling at the frogs that seemed to enjoy eating the yolks of the eggs. Their mouth was lined with vicious teeth but like before Mu wasn't afraid. She had full faith that the great Mi had made a wonderful plan. Thus, beating her chest she urged them to attack her ad her grip tighten on the log.

Her plan was to swipe hard at them as they lunged in for a strike.

As the three goblins approached him and exchanged name. Zeru began to feel elated. He was on his first step to go Outside. He was now part of a pack. Now all that needed to be done was go outside and hunt.

So he picked up a rock, a good amateur bludgeoning weapon for the beginner hunter. "We Pack Now! Now we find eats, then we eat it." He exclaimed, gesturing for the other goblins to follow him as he made his way out of the cave.

Patch

Things were going well for Patch. He was punching and scratching at this food-thing. He even thought he was dealing damage. He was certainly connecting with the big... Head? On the things back. Things were going great. The food-thing even screamed and started to run.

This was when Patch knew he was winning.

And then suddenly things were rushing into his eyes. What it was, he wasn't too sure. But it made him very angry. He was so angry he was coughing in outrage. His nose was running, which was probably from all that anger. And his eyes were stinging, his vision blurry, from all those Rage tears. That's right, he wasn't wounded. This food-thing hadn't surprised him. This was just a classic case of Rage tears. And did he need his eyes to kill this thing?

Pfft.

No.

Who needed eyes?! Patch coughed out defiantly. Patch didn't need eyes, Patch needed food!

He coughed again and focused on his other senses instead. He had keen senses. He knew roughly where the food-thing was anyway because he'd been punching it moments ago. But now he focused and he could hear it. Hear it move. Hear it click and scream. He could feel it trying to run. And he wasn't going to let that happen. Eyes be damned. He charged in and this time he tried a different tactic. This thing had a big soft spongy head on it's back, that was what Patch had been wailing on. And it didn't seem to care. So instead, this time, he was going to attack the... not-head parts. That would show this food-thing who's boss. And it's Patch. Patch is boss.

Jin

Just when things seemed to be going well, the wiggly moving yummy? thing let loose a loud battle cry errr well, maybe it was just a scream, kind like when a girl screams upon seeing a pervert looking at her as she's bathing or something. Though, Jin wouldn't know of such things until he becomes less....well....stupid. And the suffering of the narrator continues!!! While the narrator cries but his unfortunate fate of getting stuck with horrible jobs, Jin worries over the fate of his comrades!!

Upon seeing the mist and the noises coming from it, Jin takes action!! Which is in the form of.....more rocks!!! Picking up more and more rocks, he began hurling them into the mist in an effort to hit that moving food thing and free his comrades. Given how he's hearing loud thumps, evidence his attacks are working but didn't seem to be working as he can hear Patch moaning. Knowing it isn't enough, he found heavier stones and moved in and continued hurling them. No good, Patch's moaning got louder! This crawly thing is crafty!!

He then froze upon a further revelation, the rocks betrayed them again. No, you're the one hitting Patch. The crawly thing has conspired with the rocks! It was a trap!!!! I'm telling you no, it's your fault damnit!!! Well, jin can't understand big words but at least he felt something like it. As the thing was about to leave, he found a big rock poking out of the swamp. Before tearing the rock out, he crouched down and began whispering to it. "You.Work.Me.Now.No Funny." he glared at it with some heavy murderous intent as he began threatening the rock, probably intending to say 'dont get any funny ideas' but whatever.

Using his stupid strength to draw the rock out, he picked it up and went after the crawly yummy thing, managing to get in front of it, he unknowingly kicks the swamp water into the creatures eyes and charged at the crab, unleashing his battle cry as he started slamming the rock where the things head was supposed to be.

Gobu-Rin (a.k.a. Ugly / You)

Having successfully mounted the squishy-rock-food-thingy (which is a lot less inanimate now), Rin began carving the poor fellow using her two jagged rocks. Things were looking really good until the thing.. Farted? It must be fart, yep. Y'know, since it's so revoltingly vile and all. The fart was in fact so foul that Rin quickly started choking on her own breath. Her eyes started tearing and her nose starting to clog up with thick mucus.

At first the fart was shocking enough that Rin released her grasp on the squishy rock thingy, but her instinct and indeed, her hunger, quickly dictates her to grasp at the food once again as she fell from it. And so she did. She frantically tried to grasp on the prey that was about to got away. And her hands managed to get a grip on something. The thing is, what she grabbed felt quite different from the squishy thingy before.

From the movement and the clicking sound it made, Rin was sure that it's still a part of the food thingy. Yet unlike the squishy part that Rin mounted before, this part feels a lot harder. And it moves a lot more as well. Using her sense of touch, she could also feel that next to it were another set of hard, moving parts. If only she could see clearer, she'd realize that they're the Mushroom Crab's legs, but because she's limited to grope-errr-touching to make sense of anything, Rin is having trouble imagining what she's clinging on to.

In her frustration, she decided to just tear the things away from the food-thingy for further investigation later. How to do that, you ask? Well, since her arms are not as strong as either Fugly or Patchy, she was having trouble prying the things apart. But do not worry, for Rin's got an INGENIOUS plan to work out. See, if hands alone were not enough, then all she need to do was to use her feet as well.

How you ask? Well, first, she grabbed onto both cylindrical thingies firm with her hands. Then, putting herself into a squatting position between the two hard organs, she kicked as hard as she can, as if to jump away from the thingy's main body. That's pure goblin genious right there. If you think for a second that You/Ugly's got inferior brains to Patchy or even Fugly, we now dare to attest that you are WRONG! Mwahahahaha!!

Awa

Awa quickly got the sense that Mi was smarter then everyone else. Not because she made a plan, but from the way she talked. She spoke much more fluently then any other goblin he knew, and said things that sometimes confused him. Awa followed Mi and Sen into the surrounding bush and took up a position on Mu's right side, following her. The plan was easier to understand and execute than Awa anticipated. Follow Mu, then attack the Angler Frogs when they attack Mu. Easy. Awa's stealthy gait was almost a four limbed crawl within the thick shrubbery.

Awa came to a halt as Mu began smashing her stick into the ground and making lots of noise to attract the Frogs. Awa was on edge, oddly excited by the whole ordeal. His pupils dilated and his muscles tightened. As the frogs began to hobble other towards Mu, Awa readied himself, grabbing onto the branches surrounding him. As soon as they were close enough to Mu for them to lunge out at her Awa charged, ripping the leaves off the branches he previously gripped. Closing in on them, Awa threw the leaves at the one closest to him to blind it before attempting to pounce on top of it and biting down on the first bit of flesh he could find.
