I've been getting notices from various users about fake Batoto sites that's out there.

It looks exactly like us (pretty sure direct copy of everything), but with their own ads.

 

DO NOT LOGIN UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE on the fake site. They're stealing your id/passwords. If you end up on that site for any reason, LEAVE IMMEDIATELY.

If you ever logged in to one of those sites before, change your password on EVERY SITE that uses the same password, not just here.

 

Our domain is bato.to. Anything else is fake.

Well...this is awkward.

 

I actually created this spoof account with the link Loki posted above and I actually landed on the legit Batoto page :/

 

Watch out folks, this is a pretty good fake.

Also you can't read comics with that link that loki gave. you click a manga chapter and it just says loading...

the annoying thing is when i google "manga title batoto" (thats how i usually serach for mangas online) the fake one comes up at the top of search results...

From what I see, it updates about two hours after this site.  It even has the fake bato.to warning.

I see little gain from anyone posing phishing attempts towards the Batoto community, so I really don't know why they are doing this.

Seems like its a chineese hosting company that provides ID Protection (Whois Shield) for the domain, so you cant see actually the registrant information, only the registrar. Just send email to ICANN and ask for domain name block, because 99% sure that the hosting company (the registrar you see) will not give a crap. Also, you can try contacting Cloudflare to block the NS records.

I recommend adding warnings to WOT for this and any other site found, Unfortunately you need several reviews before is validated but if every Batoto user did it it will be quickly flagged as a scam by the WOT extension.  https://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/cpoe.xyz
