I've found this has happened twice at least for some reason.

I've been uploading Freezing, and while a 4-12 hour wait to me is reasonable, knowing its volunteers that moderate chapters the last two weeks I had my upload approved, then suddenly it wasn't.

I didn't believe some of our readers at first, until I saw it myself. Comments referring to the latest chapter on batoto, without the chapter showing up. (Without being logged in).

Today I refreshed the feed, saw the series and thought cool, it was approved first thing this morning. 20 minutes later I refresh and it's gone.. Check the series page and (and see the little red x to delete the chapter is gone where it was present before) it's no longer 'approved'.

Just wondering what's happening in these instances.

As far as I can tell you have unapproved the chapter yourself. Have you perhaps clicked on the little ?

Hmm, not to my knowledge.

I do have a tendency to leave pages loaded on the iPad and desktop, so maybe a page refresh somewhere with an errant touch did so without my noticing.

Thanks mhh... I think it's gotta be related to my leaving the page open on my iPad.. When I came back this morning the page refreshed and boom, the latest chapter I uploaded had been unapproved (again....). Closing out that page is gonna be annoying, but I might have no choice at least til I see if it's indeed that which is causing it.

And again it's done it. It was ok for about three-four hours after, took a nap and woke up to it being "gone"...

Checking the moderation log, it states that you unapproved the chapter yourself at this time: 2015-08-21 07:57:52 (that's server time, so EST/EDT I believe)

Interesting as I was sound asleep at the time.

Note, I edited the title shortly after it was reapproved and shortly after it was again "unapproved". I've been careful to not linger on the page since this started (at least on the iPad) in case it was safari doing it unintentionally.

Does this happen on chapters uploaded/edited with your desktop/laptop? Have you tried other browsers on the iPad (Chrome/etc)?

Yea, it happened with the others. I up.oad with the desktop however. The iPad the second or third time it happened I started making sure the manga page was not left to idle as safari and chrome boy tend to automatically refresh the page, also with scrolling I was concerned fingers on screen might have accidentally touched the red x.
Today however I didn't have the page loaded, Chrome was logged out, and I was sound asleep both times it happened. Which seemed odd.

The only thing I can think of is the desktop. I might have left that in the "add chapter" page when I finished last night. Far as I can tell it's either.

...so now a mod has to upload it for me so most of the stuff doesn't get unapproved later.
Meanwhile it's odd other items/series are perfectly fine like unbreakable machine doll http://vatoto.com/comic/_/comics/unbreakable-machine-doll-r523but freezing, sekirei, end constantly pop up needing to be reapporved by mods. Happened again today with Adam in puberty.

Should I try creating a new account to see if that fixes it? I mean it's almost worth it to see if the problem duplicates again on my end...

Are you using any kind of extensions that may be crawling the links as you visit them? Because it might be hitting the unapprove.

No, and I generally don't install extentions as a rule.

 

I have a adblock, something for gmail and dropbox, enable right click, google cast, and google docs offline.  Thats it.

 

The ipad, well, chrome doesnt support extentions.

 

The laptop, it doesnt visit bato much if at all.

 

That said, there is something else I've found.  When I uploaded sekirei the other day, it was a relatively small package.  Less then 10MB vs the larger 13MB+ size I've seen with Sekirei, Adam, Freezing etc.

 

Unbreakable Machine Doll never unapproves itself (again 5-8 page chapters)

Sekirei hasn't this last chapter, but the previous two did.

Freezing seems to do it every week.

Adam in Puberty has also.

 

Most of those are 20+ pages, over 13MB.  UMB, and the last sekirei where less then 20 pages (5-14 pages)

 

Thats the ONLY sort of 'sense' I can make out of it.  I place files in a folder, name them, all jpg and png-8 saved, and zip them up from the lower folder area. (not within, but I did it previously from within and there was no difference)

 

Not sure if this is to much info, but as its annoying for me, I'm sure its annoying to mods.

 

I almost wanted to test it by making a separate account and using that to upload as contributor status, to see if that solves it.
