I can stomach some pretty gruesome stuff, both in violence and gore as in sexuality, but this is just sick to the core. It's not often that I just think the mix of violence and sex is only there to be edgy and disturbing, without having any other purpose. In light of that, there are things that are just plain stupid, but this is to me, in all honesty, just sick and I can't understand how people can read this and think "Oh she's cute" or something along those lines.

I'm beyond questioning some of the (especially the sexual) stuff the japanese put out, but this is beyond my understanding, so can anyone please explain the appeal of this manga to me?

I've looked into some of the author's other manga and to be honest, Tomodachi Game is a pretty interesting read and Gun X Clover just seems like the generic highschool Ecchi thingy. So where the heck did this even come from?

Thank you for your time

Appeal is completely subjective to the reader, so while you find this manga 'sick', some of us (me among them) actually manage to enjoy the depravity.

Does that make us sick? I don't see why, I'd say someone who gets hard from scat and toddlercon hentai is far far more perverted and in dire need of counseling.

Personally, I admit I don't mind the ecchi of this manga, but I also find the whole point of the story refreshing - these are the infamous fifteen minutes of fame, brought to their logical extreme.

You see people shoving firecrackers up their butts on Youtube, or other idiotic crap, yet those videos still manage to get much more views than, say, someone practicing singing or skateboarding.

In that regard, I'd say this manga, while an exaggeration, does address something pretty common - that greed and desire of recognition can bring people to do even the silliest things.

Is it fcked up? Yes. Are there worse things? Definitely. Besides you ask where is the appeal, there is a market for snuff stuff ie. movies, mangas like this (but honestly this is pretty much tame), some hentai that i stumbled upon and was curious...oh god....or even 4chan /b/ there are some fcked up things i tell ya remembering them makes me cringe. So just like previous user said it's completely subjective, just like s&m or any other things, so you while you have the right to be disgusted by it, you can't really say that nobody likes this or just because they like it they should drop dead or something like that.

> Wait. How is this sick?
This is hilarious.

> This manga is meant for sadists and the such.

> Appeal is purely subjective...

It's subjective.

But basically, if you read up when given the chance, it's a form of curiosity or diligence.

The former being more common than the latter.

Is there anything other than these two terms? Maybe.

But I mean, who's going to read and follow this manga every chapter unless they love it?

I see it as a satire...a no holds, gory, perverted & psychological form of criticism of our social media.

We take pictures & film the stupidest/most idiotic/pointless things and throw them on the net for the "lolz" just to be noticed. DeadTube is literally YouTube, Twitter, Snapchat, Facebook etc. but dialed up to 11. Popular channels/producers become famous worldwide & monetarily endorsed while the unpopular ones are ousted and left struggling for a living. Content creators are at the mercy of the followers/watchers for livelihood & the entire system. Hell DeadTube has more similarities to real life then there are differences, and that's scarier than any gore, blood and death shown in this series.

I could be overthinking here, but as a critical thinker who generally hates the term 'turning off your brain' as a response to these series, that's how I look at it.
