Today, while I was rereading the first chapter, I noticed this: 

 

(Ch. 1, p. 7)

 

"About 3 years and 3 months ago"? If you read the few previous pages you will realise that Hinata is the narrator who tells the story of his time at Karasuno~ And even more important - Haikyuu!! is gonna last throughout the three years of high school! (Possibly.)

 

I don't know about you but I am super excited about this now. 

 

Edit:

Seems like there's a mistake in translation and it should be "3 years and 3 months later". It's correct in the anime. Sorry for the confusion.

Oh man, totally forgot about this. Maybe Hinata's just retelling his 3rd year in Junior High - 1st year in High School days? That moment in his life is the initial peak of his craze for v-ball.
