Lorcan

Day 3: Cave Daria

Despite the fortune of his hunting group, Lorcan was still wary of the large creature lying in its own pool of blood. His instincts warned him to tread lightly even when he and the others were at an advantage. Lorcan decided to heed his instincts. He didn’t want to die out on his first hunt, after all.

Lorcan turned to the other goblins to gauge their reactions. Fera and Ros looked calm and appeared the most trustworthy to carry out the plan that was starting to form in his head. Rae and Woll looked worried, but perhaps a word of encouragement and having them trust him would ease their fears somewhat. The wolf couldn’t move, but he didn’t want to take his chances.

“Follow my plan,” Lorcan whispered to the other goblins in the underbrush, a toothy smirk forming once again.

The plan was simple. He noticed Fera was a very sneaky goblin and he gave her to task to circle around the wolf with a big rock using the bushes and trees as cover. Once she got close unnoticed, she would drop the heavy rock on top of the wolf’s head. Meanwhile, as a diversion, he, Rae, and Woll would walk out of the underbrush and approach the Alpha Spiked Wolf carefully. Rae and Woll carried branches as clubs, and Lorcan told them to strike at the spots where the wolf was bleeding if it was necessary. He carried a sharp rock, but he didn’t plan on attacking. He was the leader, after all. He gave Ros the job to throw rocks and other stuff at the wolf if it started moving towards the diversionary group and then move to another spot if he still wasn’t spotted.

Lorcan expected Fera and Ros to understand the plan, but he wasn’t too sure with Rae and Woll. He chose them because they looked like the type that would easily follow him. He signaled to Fera to start the plan. Meanwhile, he placed his hands on Rae and Woll’s shoulders, smiling at them reassuringly. Then he urged them to leave the brush with him as they both cautiously approached the Alpha Spiked Wolf with a predatory gleam in his eyes.

Lorcan kept himself a pace in front of Rae and Woll. He was the leader (and he knew he could run faster than them anyway and can leave them behind if the situation warranted it).

Cave Axl- Day 3

Sen and his party headed out quickly, the rumbling in their bellies pressing them onward. They were an eclectic group, all of different temperaments and appearances, but they made good time all the same. I've never seen an even group that looked so odd. Sen did his best to stifle the laugh that threatened to burst out at his hilarious joke, food was a serious thing and he didn't want to hear what noises his stomach made after the tame growls from earlier. Eventually Fhul spotted movement in the trees, meaning food was nearby. The group followed her to a clearing, and Sen stalked right up to the edge to find it filled with crabs.

Sen had heard about them from Rhan, hard, cowardly things with soft meat in the middle. They'd run if given the opportunity and keep their meat to themselves. Sen wouldn't allow that to happen, and the size of his group gave him an idea. Sen crept back to the group and beckoned them all close to him. "Buncha crabs in that clearing. Circle 'round them so they can't run, cept for Din. You wait outside the clearing and catch any we miss. Yang, find a small rock and throw it at em, we'll pounce the crabs then." Talk of rocks reminded Sen of something, "Find some sharp rocks on the way. Crabs are hard."

With his master plan laid out before him Sen crept back through the brush to the other side of the clearing, taking a rock that looked a bit pointier than the others on the way. With tasty crab meat closet at hand, Sen tensed as he waited for the rock to drop into the clearing.

Pip

Cave Axl

Day 3

Pip stood still for a second, but only a second, for he knew he might not have a chance this good again, but if he didn't want to die he would need a plan(or something close to one). He noticed that the snake hadn't seen him yet so he had a better chance to kill it now than later, but damn if those other vines didn't look theatening.

Pip looked around for a pointy stick and a rock. After finding them he went through his plan in his head and hope it was a good one(The plan not his head). First he would throw the rock at a tree behind the snake to make a sound on the other side of the snake and distract it even more. Hopefully that would not only distract the snake that was killing the little animal but it would make any other snakes look over there and if they did then Pip would see them and know he should hunt elsewhere.

But.... If there were no other snakes then Pip was going to use his pointy stick to kill the tasty looking snake. Looking at his stick he thought maybe it wouldn't be enough, so he looked at the ground and saw another rock to pick up after he throw the first one.

Pip looked up at the snake and smiled through his nerves. He was ready. He was so f***ing ready.(Just not in those words.)

Goblin Rot - Cave Daria

Day 3

More goblins had flocked after him.  Which was weird.  Was he actually super popular?  Hopefully, he looked back at some of the others only to watch them stop in their tracks and look around awkwardly.  Rot's little heart broke into so many pieces that they could fit through the head of needle.  He was, in fact, not popular at all.  What a crushing realization for the young goblin.  Be might of been moved to tears if not for the fact that his eyes literally seemed incapable of doing anything but leer.  It was a real problem that nobody took seriously.  He tried to point this out to the extremely feminine Char but they didn't see the problem.  Char was popular though so of course they wouldn't understand the woes of not even being able to curl up and cry.  Stupidly curvy Char!

Whatever.  Rot was over it.  They could follow as he wandered aimlessly through the forest if they wanted.  Maybe with their help he could kill something big?  Which he could then bring back to the cave and share?  Everyone would love him then right? He'd be super popular.  Yeah.  Rot could see it now.  They would love him forever.  Mmm.  This was a good plan.  The unpopular goblin picked up his pace as he continued to dream of day where everyone liked him.  Yeah, nothing could break his stride now!  Except for things like roots, twigs, his own feet, and oddly shaped rocks.  The rock hurt the most.  He snubbed his foot on it and...well he didn't curse.  He probably would of if he had known any but he didn't so he settled for what sounded like a menacing growl which caused some of his companions to flinch.  The fact that Rot scooped up the rock to show them why he made the noise did nothing to assuage them.  In fact, he was pretty sure they were worried that he was going to beat them with it.

Rot held on to the rock.  Not to hit them with but to hit other things.  Like this orc they stumbled across that was limping about like he was kind of cool guy with a deep and interesting history.  Little did that fat meat sack know, he was little more than the first stepping stone of Rot's road to becoming accepted.  Rot charged out from the foliage behind and to the right of its flank and without ceremony attempted to use his hurt rock to bludgeon the orc's brains out.

SNARF

Cave Daria

As they progressed Snarf encountered several rocks, each better than the last. Her current rock was best rock. Smooth and shiny. The shiny made it stronger.

She also picked up a large stick that the Wakener insisted on sharpening. Yes. This was team work. She would throw him at the prey last, to increase his survival time. Such was his reward for excellent help.

They ended up finding an orc. It was like a larger, fatter goblin. Snarf marvelled at his size. One day she would tower above lesser goblins and then they would know their place. Snarf watched her prey and calculated possible moves. Her incredible mind worked with the force of a thousand banging rocks. An idea came to her and she grabbed Crey, moving further ahead to where the orc was travelling

The disguise was as complex as it was simple. Snarf was sitting on the shoulders of Crey who struggled to move them down the path towards the incoming orc at a casual pace. The ox pelt covered them so it would look like a single person! Snarf's incredibly intellect won again. Now she was as tall as the orc and her features were hidden so he wouldn't suspect a thing.

The stupid animal would think she was another one of them! Snarf would blend perfectly in. Once they got close she would stab him with her stick. The plan was magnificent.

Lorcan

Day 3: Cave Daria

He felt proud.

It didn’t matter if the Alpha Spiked Wolf was going to die anyway. His plan worked and now they were going to curb their hunger. Lorcan looked at the excited goblins that were part of his entourage and mentally patted himself on the back. Clearly he deserved to be the leader. This proved it.

“Eat up, everyone!” Lorcan commanded them, using his sharp rock to remove the wolf pelt and cutting up the meat into equal portions except his. His portion was slightly larger than everyone else’s, but it was a subtle gesture to show that he was the one in charge. Once that was settled, he dug in.

Lorcan felt stronger than ever before after eating the meat!

He was the first one to finish eating. The others were still eating their portion of the meat, and Lorcan used this time to collect the other materials from the wolf. He used his new skill to sniff out scents and quickly memorized the smell of the thing that damaged the Alpha Spiked Wolf. He was going to definitely avoid that monster.

Once everyone finished eating, Lorcan gave them all a toothy smirk. “We’re going to hunt more. Bring more meat back to the goblins. We’ll be the leaders.”

He told them to follow him and to keep their steps light but also quick. Lorcan also gave them their roles. Lorcan was leader and would serve to act any role that’s necessary. Rae and Woll would attack from the front. Ros would attack from the back, throwing rocks. Fera would be sneaky and always attack behind the enemy.

Lorcan used his new skill to follow a scent that was in the area. If there had been a battle earlier, maybe he could find another injured animal that managed to escape the confrontation.

Kor

Their first hunt was quite simple. This was because a stoat did it for them. Kor saw the benefit in this, and kept track of the stoat limping away. Thinking quickly, he told Nih "Catch that! No kill! Kor explain later."

If they (and by they, Kor meant he) had the stoat as their own pet, they could hunt as many rabbits as they wanted, all without even trying. It would be terribly convenient. And so Kor devised a plan to route the creature with the help of is stupidest and more loyal companion. Giving the rabbit to Kie, Nih ran off to capture the stoat; Kor told Kie to beat the rabbit against a tree until it died, then ran to help Nih.

The two goblins surrounded the wounded stoat and tried to grab hold of it.

Nana

With a hearty, but quiet, cackle Nana surveyed the meal before him. His simple brain could already grasp the smorgasbord before them, and the plan to put both of them in his belly. Almost dancing in place, he pointed to the branches that danced tantalizingly close to the one that the Spiderants occupied, motioning for Ques to go after the spiderant nest as a whole and then drop it soundly on the Spiderant-Eater's funny face. With a nod, Ques began to sneak his way towards his goal as best he could, fearful of scaring away their score. Nana then turned his attention to Kars, directing him to follow him around the clearing to section of vine that hung from the trees. He searched around briefly, finding a solid looking stick and handing it to Kars.

"You strongest," Nana said, flexing pitifully in demonstration, "you take stick, I take vine. I catch, you smash." With a happy nod and a less pitiful flex in return, Kars took the proffered stick, while Nana bit his way through what he thought to be a good length of vine. With their makeshift weaponry ready and in hand, they began slowly creeping their way towards the climbing Spider-ant Eater even as Ques made his way up into the trees and closer to his own goal.

Kor -- Cave Daria

The stoat seemed to give up once Kor got hold of it, which made things easier. He motioned for his posse to follow him, away from the large pile of blood which might attract predators. He began to explain his plans for the stoat once they began walking.

"We use to hunt rabbits," he said. "This can hunt for us and bring it back, I train it."

The other goblins seemed to agree with his proposal, so no one asked to eat it, even if they thought it looked a little tasty. The split up the rabbit meat amongst themselves, and Kor gave some of his to the stoat to begin earning its trust. The continued walking through the forest looking for more food. Noticing that the stoat was beginning to get restless, he asked the goblins if they had any idea how to build a cage for the stoat. Bren and Kie seemed to have some ideas, but it would take some time gathering materials and formulating plans for it to amount to anything. Kor decided they could walk at a more leisurely pace, looking for both food and the proper sticks for building a cage.

Lorcan

Day 3: Cave Daria

They found a fawn of a Crowned Stag!

Lorcan was pleased. His ideas were working well. He made sure to memorize this smell as well. It didn’t look as dangerous as the wolf earlier, but Lorcan wasn’t about to underestimate the creature. They had to kill it quick too. His instincts were telling him that its loud cries may attract the attention of something worse if they didn’t hurry.

He turned to the goblins, mentally noting their behavior. He wondered what Ros and Woll was doing with their hands, but he’ll ask about it later. Lorcan told Fera to hide and strike from the back just in case. He knew she was strong, but he didn’t rely too much on her.  Lorcan told Rae and Woll to spread out and surround the fawn. Rae went left, and Woll went left. Ros was to stay behind and throw rocks if it tired anything while keeping a lookout for anything suspicious.

Once everyone was in position, Lorcan charged forward at the fawn of a Crowned Stag, his eyes focused on it to watch for any actions that may be dangerous. With his left hand, he threw a rock at it to distract it, but as he came closer he used the sharp rock he was using as a dagger to stab the improvised weapon into its jugular to end its life quickly. However, just in case that didn’t happen, he signaled Rae and Woll to move in and attack.

Day 3 - Talky

Shaytan Cave 4 Lyfe

(kidding someone kill me now)

“Rap. Wat u doin' here?” Talky asked groggily as he woke up. Then he remembered the eagerness with which the two of them had worked on Talky's latest project. Stone spear points, in preparation for today's hunt. He was clearly excited and looking forward to put to use their new toy. The excitement was contagious as Talky jolted to full awareness, only to almost regret the sudden movement as quickly as it caught the attention of Clash. He came barelling fast, like a retard. For a young goblin, Clash was already pretty big.

Fucking Clash.

If Talky could talk the talk, Clash could TALK THE TALK. Too bad all he had to say was DUMB SHIT. And he knew Lightning Magic. The combination of the power of lignting and the brain the size of a walnut was a lethal combination, a perfect storm of bullshit. His favourite trick, which Talky had indulged him yesterday out of fear of reprisal had been “HEY HOLD MY HAND'' and then he shocked you. And laughed at his own cleverness. What a dick.

Fucking Clash.

Anyway... he grabbed him and Fang, electroshock free today, and declared his intention to go hunt. This was not how Talky had envisioned spending his day. With Clang around there was no way he and Rap could pull the stunts they had in mind. On the other hand, he did not want to make Clang angry. Life is hard. Poor Rap didn't seem to understand the rammifications of this development and continued to smile.

Yeah no, fuck Clash. He didn't need him. He could totally do this on his own. He'll show him. One day, he'll be bigger than the big lightning lug.

“Nah. It's coo. Ima gonna go do my own excursion today with Rap and some other people?”

“YOU CURSING ME TALKY?”

“NO. No. Excursion. To go out. To go hunt. To walk. Ex-cureeee-sionnnnn”

“OH. DON'T USE BIG WORDS LIKE DAT. CONFUDDLES CLASH. “

“Yeah. I know. Whatever.” Talky said as he walked off with Rap. Groups were being made and leaving the caves. It's like the goblin equivalent of dodgeball. Talky is the kind that gets picked last. Rap too. There were just a lot of losers left.

Well okay, Yosh wasn't such a big loser. Let's go talk to him.

“Hey Yosh. How's the morning?” Talky asked as he approached the chillin' goblin.

“Not much. Playing. Water.” Yosh motioned as he played with water in a puddle, practicing his magicks.

“Playing with water.” Talky corrected.

“Yeah. That.”

“Anyway. Wanna go hunt? We got Rap her and we got stuff we want to try.” Talky cut to the chase.

“Sure. Yosh like hunting.”

“Cool. Good. Okay. One more.” Talky said to himself as he scanned the cave. Sai and Trush were talking. And kind of the only ones left. Great. Sai was an asshole, a fact he managed to establish despite being only 3 days old. He's a lying piece of shit that almost got them killed yesterday. He didn't want him on his team, but he was friend with Trush and Trush was useful. A dumbass, but a useful, skillful dumbass. Way too eager to die for Talky's taste, but hey – that has some use out there.

“Hey. You guys want to go hunt?” Talky asked he, Rap and Yosh got nearer.

“No.” Sai responded, the lying piece of shit. They were clearly planning to head out. Talky decided to play on the appeal of new toys.

“Me and Rap came up with cool hunting tools.” he said, showing the spears. “But we only share with people hunting with us.”

They looked at him, puzzled. Too many words, he concluded.

“Spears. Hunt. Us.” he said, gesticulating the rest. They understood then, and Trush's face lightened up.

And so the group of 5 goblins, Talky in lead, spears in hand, left through the graveyard and into the wilds beyond. Talky had a plan. Sort of. He wanted to find a good watering hole. Then they would ambush a creature – anything would do, and push it toward the water, where Yosh could use some of that sweet magic. If everything went well, they could bag a pretty big prey no problems.

Dang, Talky, you're such a genius.  He thought to himself as they got near the spot he had in mind.

Goblin Rot - Cave Daria

Day 3

Rot was feeling pretty darn happy with himself.  Honestly, he had half expected to fail utterly and get saved by the others.  Yet here he was standing over the orc as he bled out onto the ground like some kind of idiot.  That's not where blood goes.  Even Rot knew that much.  So it spilling out like that probably was a good sign for him.  He looked up expecting to see all his fellows rushing out to raise him up onto their shoulders like he was some kinda big hero but instead all he saw was Snarf in some ridiculous outfit pointing a pointy stick.  Admittedly, that was super intimidating for him for here he was without a stick.  Had he even needed to do anything at all he wondered?

Who knows.  He did though.  Rot killed him with the hurt rock which was now the red rock of hurt.  Pretty impressive title for a rock he thought.  Still, what was the black thing the orc had been holding?  The cruel eyed goblin gave it a tentative kick and jumped back a step just in case it snapped at him.  It didn't and he kind of felt like an idiot.  He hoped nobody saw that.  Ohh wait, everybody saw that.  He pushed on like a trooper and heroically opened the box.  A shiny white stone thing?  Must be important.  Could he eat it?  Rot gave it a good lick to test.  The test proved nothing.  He ate it anyway.  Rot was very hungry after all.

Nothing happened.  He blinked a few times and looked around expecting something.  Instead, he just felt kinda gassy.  He felt it coming up and didn't fight it as he let out a burp that turned out to be a good deal more..smokey that he expected.    A puff of dark smoke poured out his mouth and floated uneasily in the air in front of him.  He poked it gingerly and when his hand didn't melt decided to disregard it for the moment.

Rot was very hungry and here was this freshly dead orc.

Jasper

Cave Ruok

Jasper was having a pretty nice dream. He dreamed that he was running through a nice, warm forest full of slow, easy to kill little rodents that he could just pluck off the ground, eat, and grow stronger. But then one of the rodents got big. With muscles. And teeth. Hulk Rodent turned around, picked Jasper up, and started shaking him, shake shake shake shake shake shake shake-

"Wake up!"

Shake shake shake shake SHAKE

"Yipes! Okay! Up, up! Stop shake!"

Grait finally stopped jarring him about and dropped him to the floor before lumbering off to wake up someone else. He was up and alert... back in a cold, un-warm non-forest completely devoid of slow, fat rodents. It sucked. Jasper looked behind him and noticed his bunkmate still sleeping, somehow missing Grait's rude awakening. That wasn't cool with Jasper, who picked up some rocks and started throwing them at Fark until he woke up.

"Come on. Need food."

Scarcely waiting for Fark to get up and follow him, Jasper began to make his way out of the cave and into the cold. Some tracks gave away that three of the other goblins had just left. Jasper took off after them, quickly catching up because Jasper was quick. Fark came a little behind them, and Jasper took him off a little ways. More spread searching meant more chances to find food after all.

Cave Shaytan. Day 3

Fang was already noting who was the most useful of their group and right now, Goblin Seli was well in the lead with her trackingness. And then they came upon a Camel toad, water, meat, it had everything! Except the crocodile.

Now water was tempting but Fang wasn’t no idiot. Sand hill + sand croc = no hope. “Let’s go before croc comes back for goblin snacks” Nope, she wasn’t getting into that fight. She knew her limits and that exceeded them so much. "Find easier prey. One not likely to eat us." Oh it was good to be smart enough to not jump into that kind of stuff.

Awa

Cave Shaytan: Day 3

Awa was surprised that his friend Goblin Seli managed to track down such a fat and juicy toad. Awa salivated just looking at his victim. Awa patted Goblin Seli on the shoulder "Good. Very nice!", but just as he finished praising her a large, crocodile-like creature popped out of the sand and dragged their toad below. "Ugh. Tough..." Awa didn't know much, but he knew that shit was horrifying. He stepped forward a few steps, but then thought that that could happen to him. Awa, a little scared, turned back to his group with a worried face. Luckily, Goblin Fang had a novel idea. "Hmm. More prey? Yes. Good thought, Thang." Awa began to look around for anything. Prey, water, something he could wield to whack prey with. Awa was putting effort into this looking for stuff idea.

SNARF
Cave Daria

Snarf picked up the box of stones while the goblin chowed down on the orc. She was glad her brilliant plan worked. The orc was so enamoured by an approaching ally he didn't notice the goblin who attacked from the back. Her mighty intellect was the thing of legends.

Eating a white stone had made the goblin breath smoke. Therefore, logically, eating the red stone would make a goblin breathe red smoke. Interesting.

Snarf chewed on the orc a little while she pondered.

Eventually she decided that more experimentation was to be done. She grabbed goblin Char and dragged her mercilessly over to the box. Snarf kept a hand over Char's eyes so she couldn't see and pushed her hand into the box. When Char removed it, she held two stones - a green and a blue one. Snarf smacked her hand and make her drop them. Greedy. She pushed her hand in again and this time she brought out a single red stone. Under Snarf's watchful eye she ate it and coughed fire. Interesting

She repeated the experiment again. This time with the goblin Crey and the green stone. He sighed after eating and it blew a gust of wind into Snarf's face. Goblin Crey had clearly gained the bad breath ability. Interesting

Next was goblin Mel, who received the blue stone. She seemed to drool more. Or maybe it was water. INTERESTING

Snarf was about to bring over Archi when she realized there was only a single stone left. This would not do. She didn't have enough experiment data to understand how they worked, no one was that smart. She would need to save it for later.

For now, the hunger was returning. Snarf needed food. She gathered her weaklings and began the next hunt
