Lorcan
Day 3: Cave Daria
Despite the fortune of his hunting group, Lorcan was still wary of the large creature lying in its own pool of blood. His instincts warned him to tread lightly even when he and the others were at an advantage. Lorcan decided to heed his instincts. He didn’t want to die out on his first hunt, after all.
Lorcan turned to the other goblins to gauge their reactions. Fera and Ros looked calm and appeared the most trustworthy to carry out the plan that was starting to form in his head. Rae and Woll looked worried, but perhaps a word of encouragement and having them trust him would ease their fears somewhat. The wolf couldn’t move, but he didn’t want to take his chances.
“Follow my plan,” Lorcan whispered to the other goblins in the underbrush, a toothy smirk forming once again.
The plan was simple. He noticed Fera was a very sneaky goblin and he gave her to task to circle around the wolf with a big rock using the bushes and trees as cover. Once she got close unnoticed, she would drop the heavy rock on top of the wolf’s head. Meanwhile, as a diversion, he, Rae, and Woll would walk out of the underbrush and approach the Alpha Spiked Wolf carefully. Rae and Woll carried branches as clubs, and Lorcan told them to strike at the spots where the wolf was bleeding if it was necessary. He carried a sharp rock, but he didn’t plan on attacking. He was the leader, after all. He gave Ros the job to throw rocks and other stuff at the wolf if it started moving towards the diversionary group and then move to another spot if he still wasn’t spotted.
Lorcan expected Fera and Ros to understand the plan, but he wasn’t too sure with Rae and Woll. He chose them because they looked like the type that would easily follow him. He signaled to Fera to start the plan. Meanwhile, he placed his hands on Rae and Woll’s shoulders, smiling at them reassuringly. Then he urged them to leave the brush with him as they both cautiously approached the Alpha Spiked Wolf with a predatory gleam in his eyes.
Lorcan kept himself a pace in front of Rae and Woll. He was the leader (and he knew he could run faster than them anyway and can leave them behind if the situation warranted it).
