While 200 is not the overall RP limit, is it the limit for the starting CS (I would assume spawning into the city we're all pretty close to human)?

I don' think it would matter either way. I mean, we are already exhibiting inhuman traits, albeit minor. Besides, even if someone tryed to cheese it and took 50 in every stat so that they could pump one stat with 650 points, they would be grossly underpowered.

It has more to do with character for me. If we can go over I probably will in some areas, but it changes how I play the first few posts if my guy suddenly has abilities that go beyond what a human being would even remotely be capable of.

There's no cap. You are free to do with your points whatever you want, though your character doesn't necessarily be aware from the get go that his attributes are above human's.

How'd I end up here? I don't know where here is, but if you're asking about my death I'll tell you all about it.

 

I love guns. You may think that's not much of an explanation, but I love guns. People love each other, an artist loves their paintings, a starving man loves food, a hedonist loves pleasure. Put it all together and it wouldn't stack against my love for guns. The first time I saw someone get shot in a cheesy action movie I was hooked. I got BB guns for every holiday I could, and I played paintball so often that I wound up king of the course, or something like that, I was more interested in the new gun that came with the plaque than what it said.

 

But it wasn't enough. I formed a gang in high school, not to sell drugs or own territory, just so I could have an excuse to shoot people. I'm no psycho killer or anything like that, but those who ran or fought with their life on the line made for the trickiest shots. That's what I was searching for, the hardest shot. I couldn't be satisfied with being the best on the range or in the paintball field when I knew that there was a harder shot to make somewhere, an even greater challenge to test my guns against.

 

Not surprising I ended up in the military right? It was either that or get arrested, and I wouldn't do well in prison. Shivs aren't my style. The recruiters always said they could use more marines, and I had a hunger inside me that only a sleek M-16 could fill. So there I was, out on the frontlines.

 

Now those were some real challenges, they had the homefield advantage and had no shame in flaunting it. I made some of the best shots of my life out there and there wasn't a single person around to call me murderer. So long as I saved a guy in my colors I got drinks and cheers when I came back to base, it was a pretty good life. But the funny thing about challenging yourself is that eventually you lose. When you fail an honors math test or get rejected from some highbrow program it can light a fire in your chest, when you fail a shot it can also light a fire in your chest. Only in this case it lit a fire in my heart where the bullet passed through it, or at least I think it was my heart. Can't say I was conscious enough to keep track at the time.

 

And here I am, on the midnight train to Georgia or something. Say, where is this train headed?

~ History: So you want to know who I am? I bet you’re just curious about how I died, well that will come with time. In order to properly tell you my story, I need to go way way back to when my parents met obviously. The myths get it all wrong anyway, just so you know, I’m not pissed off about that, mortals will believe ANYTHING you tell them to.

My father, Hades, was one of the most depressed dudes you could ever have the poor fortune to meet. I mean sure, he was running the underworld, but that is a life of murder, blood, and darkness and wine weren’t helping neither. So here he is, mid immortality crisis, and he does what most mortal men do when they start feeling the crushing weight of their mortality, only it was his infinity, and he goes and pops down to Earth to find himself a lady.

So he’s strollin’ about in this forest (everyone knows the best girls are found there) and howdy doody doo, he comes upon this young lass, Persephone. Only Persephone is like twelve or something and even for a God that is in bad taste. But he’s so taken with how pretty she is, cuz she was a real looker even then, that he goes to her and they have a tea party. Persephone, was a pretty shy and her mum was a real helicopter mummy you know? So having this gentleman to play tea with her was really the first friend she ever had. And so at the end of the day she gives him a kiss on the lips because that was how she’d seen her mum thanking men that pleased her. (Don’t get your knickers in a twist, it was totally chaste and beautiful you know? Hades was all cool about it and totally didn’t go home and touch his lips, or so he told me.) He made up his mind he wouldn’t be a stalker and the rest, would let her have her life.

And better yet, he was happy for a long time because seeing such beauty and life in the world helped make his day job pass quicker, you know how it is. But these things in the universe have a way of working themselves out and it wasn’t long until Hades starts to get depressed again. Look, I’m not saying my old man wasn’t bipolar and crazy, clearly as you will see he was, but his job wasn’t exactly a tea party. So he goes back to the forest in the winter and lucky that he did, because there are these thugs attacking a beautiful woman with less than noble intentions (you know, they weren’t just going to take her purse if you catch my drift).

And so Hades chases them off and goes upon the unconscious woman only to realize it is Persephone. And all Disney and shit she wakes up to see her old one time tea party friend having saved her and is totally smitten cuz not only was she a looker, but my dad once you got past the whole gothic vampire look was also pretty good looking and she’s twenty now so that sort of thing matters. So they do the stupid thing and get married immediately.

Now obviously, the myths were pretty accurate about Persephone’s mum not really liking her marriage. That woman was a real, well you know, that c word. She’d make it snow more often on the poor mortals just to be passive aggressive over her daughter’s husband. Granny wasn’t much nicer to me and Dad actually forbid her from calling on us after she made mum and me cry for the millionth time. Anyway, so they are happily married and then that leads to sex which gives you me, Lucien Sorin Hades, Prince of the Underworld and Overworld the only child my parents ever wanted or needed.

Yeah, I had a pretty awesome life you know, playing soccer with skulls, dancing with the nymphs, stealing souls and the like. I got all the best schooling, all the best food, just basically if it was the best, I had it. Only here’s the thing all this time I got these feelings developing for other dudes as well as girls. Can you blame me - I had the hottest guys on the planet lined up to be my best friend in school? So here I am, Prince of the Underworld and Overworld and my dad is all wanting me to stop doing drugs, stop going about with mortals of both sexes, just a real downer. So I bring home this guy with me and tell him that me and this guy are getting married and going to do as many drugs and things as I want and that I’m not finishing high school.

First Dad throws me out and forbids my mum to even look at me. That lasted all of a month, my mum was really good at thawing him with her tears and some other bits of herself. By then I’d broken it off with that guy and my Dad agrees I can come back so long as I marry this bint he picked out from me from the souls of the damned. So I lie and say “sure pop, I’d love to marry some slag you picked.”

Wedding day comes, I’m looking fine in a suit, and then they let me see this bride. She was like…the worst creature I’d ever put my eyes on, and I’d done some things I’m not proud of. So I do the only sensible thing you can do, I murdered her right then and there before the vows. Only whoopsie, she’s Zeus’ causin’s daughter three times removed so her mum is pissed at me.

And my dad is so furious because now Zeus wants my head that he hit me so hard it snapped my neck. I bet mum is really giving it to him for that one. Anyway, that’s why I’m here. But don’t you worry, I will be king of this place in no time.


Weakness: Although he is unaware of this, Lucien like most demonic creatures is unable to enter a home without being invited and to do so is to invite excruciating pain capable of rendering him unconscious. He is also due to his forest creature heritage weak to iron, though due to the duality of his nature neither of these things is inherently capable of killing him. Although it is certain that if combined they would be.

Advantages: As the RP progresses you will gain certain perks, either by buying or simply as a reward for something you’ve done and they are listed here. At the start this field is empty.

The story is narrated from his perspective and due to the incredibly low will stat, I had him written as being either crazy, delusional, or just simply enjoying lying about his past as much as possible even when it isn't necessary.   It was supposed to show personality and history I thought, his personality would be to create a monster huge lie that includes just enough smattering of the truth in it to come off as potentially accurate to people already between heaven and hell.

 I changed the CS somewhat. Instead of using stat system which I just copy-pasted in a hurry from my old RP I decided to make a new one. Sort of.

Appearance: Picture of how your character looks like. At the start his appearance should have one inhuman trait, be it horns, wings, tail, weird eyes, fangs, stuff like that. As you gain more and more points (and your character gets more powerful) his appearance will become more and more monstrous.
Theme Song: Everyone needs one.
Name: This is your mortal name, the one you had back on Earth. During the course of the RP if you use some alias often enough you will be allowed to change your name to that alias.
Gender: Male/Female. As you become less human things can get quite weird in this section.
Age of Death: Citizens of the City don’t age. Natives stop aging at some point while Neverborn look the age they were at the moment of their death eternally… or until their power changes them.
Background: This is both history and personality section combined into one.

Talents:
Stuff you are carrying over from your previous life, such as knowledge, skills, training, etc. There’s no limit, though you should keep it within reason.

Weakness: A supernatural weakness. Keep it in tune with your powers.
Stockpiled Souls: The amount of unspent souls you currently possess.  You start RP with 800 unspent souls and you don’t have to spend them all on attributes.

Attributes: You must have rank in each attribute. You use the souls you have stockpiled to buy ranks. Rank E is average for a human, rank C is top a human can achieve. At rank S you are Superman.

Strength- hitting power in melee and general athletic ability.
Endurance- ability to withstand damage, resistance to toxins and diseases.
Accuracy- how easily you can hit and parry stuff.
Reflexes- reaction time and dodge.
Energy- magic juice, how much you can use your powers as well as resistance to mind-control and illusions.
Power- strength of your supernatural abilities, each rank gives you one.
Luck- in a city full of monsters you’ll need tons of it.

E- 50pts
D-100pts
C- 200pts
B- 500pts
A- 800pts
S- 1200pts

Abilities:
Supernatural abilities you gained through your rebirth into the City. The power of all your abilities is determined by your Power stat (go figure). Also, every rank in Power gives you one ability (so at rank E you have one, at D you have two, etc.).  All abilities must follow the same theme (so you can’t have blood magic and earth-bending… unless you manage to convince me it fits some theme).  As your Power stat gets higher I’ll also allow more powerful abilities, so something I refused at rank E or D I may allow at rank A or S.

Advantages:
Various perks you’ll get as you go through the RP will be listed here, either by earning them or buying them. At the start the field is empty.

Equipment:
Things you have on your person. At the start this field is empty.

 

Also, seeing as how there's little activity in OOC, I just want to say that I did not bail on this. I'm still interested in starting this RP, just waiting for CSs.
