[Wandering Rogue]

Age: 19

Gender: Female

 

Personality: Quiet, steady of heart and steady of mind. Forceful when she needs to be, but is oft never one to immediately reveal her train of mind nor intention. Still waters run deep, and she is not far from such a notion in the least. She is not one to draw close to another nor to be intimate, as such things come at a horrific cost.

 

Biography: I do not remember much about my past life, with the mere fragments of glimpses into what could have been. Illusory, a trick of the mind or otherwise, anything that I could consider possibly a memory I take with a grain of salt. They very well could be the shards of dreams, of false realities and the like. However, that does not mean I still search for my memories, to try and truly grasp an understanding of who I truly am. Or perhaps even what I am.

 

Perhaps it is foolish, but what I think might be the fragments of memory tell me that in ages past, I was once a priestess for the God of the Underworld, of Death. A wicked, cruel trickster that goes by the name of Hades. In his temple, I remember seeing the truest desperation of humanity when faced with their mortality. And the scent of incense assaulting my senses.

 

Power: What is most frightening about me, when I discovered this world, is my sudden need to wear gloves, full sleeve garments which look so strange, and shoes upon my feet. For, with my touch, the living rapidly wither and die. For many days, I meandered these strange lands, and Death followed me. Flowers wilted, grass and trees died and turned to ash, animals howled and growled in fear of me. As if perhaps Hades decided to stand at my side.

Let me know what you think of that power, Rogue.

The power is good but a bit strong.  Toning it down so that it isn't rapid.  Weakening and the loss of color would happen rapidly but death would take prolonged exposure.  That level can be reached in time but not at the start.  Also poor Hades.  He was the best of his brothers but everyone given him no love.

I remember in high school, when we were doing a unit on Greek and Roman mythological literature, like the Iliad for instance, one of our big project was to put together a tabloid with stories based in mythology. And I remember it fondly because my headline story was "Odysseus sues Homer, claims Odyssey is a lie" and it was all about how Odysseus was not lost at sea for 10 years, he and his crew just took a little 10 week vacation and everything that homer talked about in the poem is all a giant misunderstanding. It was great.

She's the catalyst for an apocalyptic nightmare world.

 

The sky shatters and she transforms into an indescribable horror.

What game is that?

Drakengard.

 

It's a hack-and-slash where you can stop wading through hordes of enemies to ride on the back of a dragon and rain fiery death from above. The plot makes no sense and the characters are rather...odd, but it was a fun time.

Seriously though. It was my second M-rated game, I think I was eleven when I first played it through to the end(s).

I had a similar experience. 

 

It was a weird experience. Random rental from the very limited options at the shop. 

And then I never thought about it again until Nier.

Drakengard's ending was great. Its like they dropped all pretenses of normality and gave everyone a clear heads-up that there were no breaks on this train.

 

Nier was comfy if repetitive. I never played Drakengard two or three, though.

Those endings scared me when I was a kid, or at least the Furiae ones did.

 

Drakengard 2 was pretty fun,n it's more of the same with new weapons and cool dragon abilities. it also has Caim as the second to last boss and that made me fangasm a lot.

 

Haven't played 3 but it's on my list.
