Name: Gabriel Derosa
Sex: Male. If you cannot tell that much, I am afraid you have poor eyes
Age: 16
Biography:
Greetings, PanStar Corporation representative. I believe you are here to collect my personal data. Well, what do you need?
[Date and Place of Birth]
I was born in Opheus-10, subsector Eureka. Yep, you’re right: the darkest, coldest planet currently inhabited by humankind. Heck, that place made Paulus-6 looks like a tropical paradise. Probably. I have never been on Paulus-6, but I dare to bet it's no worse than Opheus-10. Well, anyway, I was born on September 3rd 2167. So I guess that makes me 16 by now.
[Previous Employment]
Like 90% of the people of Opheus-10, I was born a slave. My employment requires me to put my life on the line in defense of my master’s precious “Moonflower” garden. You know, that place where we plant the rare specimen said to have the ability to extend your Telomere, therefore giving you prolonged youth and semi-immortality.
It was hellish, that job. I was taught to handle weaponries from an early age, and was forced to dance with death on a daily basis. The hungry native fauna would often raid the garden, but the main problem was the slaves from neighbouring gardens. Everyday was a battlefield back then. If there’s anything positive from that experience, I’d say it’s the interest to Biology that I developed thanks to the constant exposure to endemic flora and fauna.
Of course, everything changes once the Government came to liberate the planet. They closed down the gardens and freed all the slaves. Or whatever remained of them, at least. The liberation was not exactly peaceful, you see. Many died trying to defend their greedy master’s land that day.
Now, I work for the government. If you could call it that, that is. Basically the contract I signed back then stated that the government will provide me with my education and daily needs, in exchange of my full obedience. Everything I have, and will have in the future, will be handed over as government’s property. That includes but not limited to: any discovery I have and will find, literatures, and even my body after I died. Or before, if they deem it necessary.
In short, I have now degraded from a slave to a property; a government’s pet, so to say. Though, for official purposes such as this application paper, I’d rather call myself a “state biologist in training”. As for my reason for transfer to prosperity, it is to perform a detailed study on your newly rediscovered colony’s biosphere. You know the drill; consumer safety stuff.
[Families and Promoters]
The government is my promoter. Every liability I may impose on your corporation on my stay in Prosperity will be compensated in full by the government. Though of course, harming me will be considered a destruction of government’s property and they’ll force you to pay the fines.. By force. So please keep that in mind.
Emergency contact? I have none. The only family member I have ever had was a brother, and he’s dead. He was a part of the Chesire Cats, special division specializing on espionage. Went missing on a mission some 8 years ago. They said he rebelled and they were forced to terminate him. Not that I really care, though. I can barely remember his face.
So.. Anything else I need to fill in?
