I've read the manga a while ago so I might have forgotten about a few things in it. I clearly remember that Guts' child is mutated/melted into Griffith when Griffith emerges into his newer form, therefore we might assume that the kid died, however the kid's affection towards Caska and Guts seems to deny this. They state later however that the kid might be some form of the unwritably named elf king. So has the elf king actually helped the demon child during Griffith's 2nd ritual, therefore it's Guts' child or is he just a fairy in a human form?

Femto used the demon child as his infant for his reincarnation. But all of this backfired at him, basically the motions of the demon child still remained in his Body prroven in Volume 22. Even femto himself noticed it. Not volumes later (Volume 28) a black haired child as you said appears. And it is heavily hinted at that he is the child of Guts and Casca, so now we have the question in our Head. How did this kid come back, if he was in Femto's Body ? As we know magicall beings get very powerful on a full moon, hence the child is called moonlight boy.

It basically says that Griffith=Moonlight Boy, but they are the same time 2 different entity's. Once the moon goes full moon the boy takes control over Femtos body and zodd makes sure that nothing happens to him. Overall this set ups alot of things for the future of the Series. With this Miura can give the cured Casca a goal, like instead of focusing on killing femto rather then that she will try to resucue her child. At the end it will be a very hard moment for Guts & Casca at the end they will want to kill femto but at the same time their child is in him. It will create an bittersweeet effect.
