Nod to MarkTheJester.
She's cute, but Midoriya has the brains and the brawn.
"Yes, I'm a professional. I've been in three plane accidents, and survived them all."
Midoriya's better because he has more to overcome and he's pretty damn knowledgeable about logical shit for a shonen protagonist. That's always a nice breath of air.
If you mean make Tsuyu the main love interest instead of Infinity Girl, I'm fine with that. Or have them both fight over Deku when the story progresses. I wouldn't mind seeing them fight over the protaginist and he's confused like all hell.
Well, the fun fact is that the quirks aren´t a hereditary/genetic thing (like the mermaids and fishman in one piece) so I know Asui isn´t Toad's daughter. Altough the surname was a more obvious indicative. At least I'm curious to what point she can extend the concept of "everything a toad can do". The personality is ok, if the story gives her a good finisher, we have a deal!

I don't think he meant make her the main character, I think he meant have her take gravity-girl's role

That makes more sense. Still, there is no "main heroine", just Midoriya who is the MC, the rest all have equivalent roles. At least so far.

I love Tsuyu lots, but I think it is too early to decidedly mark how central she will be in the story going forward.
She appears to be very popular, though, being the character with the most fanart on Pixiv, more than any other character. I imagine the author may show her some love, even if he didn't plan to.
I see no reason to set her up against Uraraka, though.
I'll have my cake and eat it too.
Something tells me that its going to be a love triangle in the future with clueless Deku nut guy.
It always happens in Shounen.

I agree with BrainBlow Think its abit too early to decide need more character development. But personally so far I am finding Tysuyu a more interesting character.
One of the most bad-ass blocks in anime

To be honest though, I think that Midoriya is more focused on becoming a hero than he is other people.

Only in harem series and some romances, which I doubt this will be.

I won't petition Tsuyu becoming the main character.
But I would petition her becoming the main love interest...

Tsuyu + Grapeboy is my ship. Pls no bully.

Grapeboy? His powers remind me of those weird sticky ball things from the Incredibles, actually. The ones that stuck to Mr. Incredible and grew bigger until he couldn't move anymore?

Heroine doesn't automatically mean love interest.
In shounen especially there's the main character and then there's also usually a heroine. almost always. so there'd be a cute girl for the reader boys to drool over and the female readers to identify with (maybe? idc). The heroine isn't always super central but she'd usually be most important among the female cast? For example, Mamori is the heroine of Eyeshield 21 and not Sena's love interest. Kana was initially the heroine in Nurarihyon no Mago until Tsurara took the crown. I can see something like that happen in this manga too, actually <'D
Uraraka is cute but I liked Tsuyu ever since I first saw her and the screentime has only helped me like her more. I hope Uraraka shows more than being just really sweet (which is a great quality but not all that popularity-grabbing in a world that loves sass)
I used "heroine" rather than "love interest" in order to leave it vague. As you say, heroine can mean love interest even if it isn't automatically the same thing; there's no romance in this manga yet but Uraraka has a pretty solid heroine status.
