Is there really a limit for ads? In my young times on the internet before adblock, they seemed to be infinitely spawned from a mysterious ad gate out of hell. Still, I don't think a new reader is needed, just do normal manga chapters like manhwa chapters.
While there IS a limit to the number of ads on a page (per ad company), the real problem with a JavaScript reader is that you can't reload new ads on that same page from the same ad company.
E.g. right now, two new ads are loaded for each page you move to. If there was a JavaScript reader that downloaded all images and changed pages client-side, you would have to "reload" those ads, which is not allowed and can get you banned.
To read in a strip format, you'd have to put in potentially 100 ads on a single page (depending on the length of the manga) to get the same revenue. And yes, 100/page is definitely outside of the "you can only use this many ads per page" limit.
HOWEVER, Grumpy has stated before that he has thoughts of including a new reader (or new reading modes) for those that have donated, since they don't have to deal with ads anyway.
That being said, I'd much rather him finish refactoring the follows and Comic Search before he touches the reader :/
