Thank you so much for translating this manhua! It is one of the best new series I've found in years!

 

Seeing that you know chinese, I believe you are the best person to ask the following question to.

 

While searching for information on Hua's story, I have came across this webpage:

Is what I suppose this website say trure? Is All Hail Empress Her Majesty really going to become an animated series, animated by MadHouse no less?

I intend to explain this problem later in my translation, but since you raised the question, I'll answer it here.

 

The first video is an official PV made by the copyright holder, u17.com.

The second video is a thesis project of the author, he was still in graduate school when he started drawing the comic.

The above two are the only official video releases so far. The third one seems to be fan creation.

 

As for the ultimate answer...NO. Although it seemed like it would be animated (hell, they had an official PV), the project is suspended. We can only hope in the future it will be restarted.

 

The author explained in tieba, a famous Chinese forum, that there are many problems which made it impossible to produce any quality animation now, including but not limited to money, graphic design, script writing, CVs, etc. The author does not want a lame animation and concluded that there would not be any progress within this year at least. Edit: You mentioned Madhouse..I had never heard nor seen any linkage between this comic and Madhouse. And I personally do not want Madhouse to have anything to do with it, given how they ruined Ichigo 100%. Also, I think it would be too expensive for a Chinese private-owned website to hire a Japanese studio for animation. Most of the work got outsourced to China anyway, so why not find a Chinese studio directly.

I respect an author who doesn't want to make a half-assed anime adaptation. The author knows the state of things in China more than we ever will, so we can't really complain, can we?
