Anyone who saw the anime knows where this is going. However, the end of the anime didn't leave us with any real conclusion. Will we find out how things turn out before the next anime...if there is one?

Well, you could always read the light novel. It covers a great deal of stuff after the anime ended, and it's currently being translated. It'll be a while until the manga catches up to that, and there still isn't enough material to make another anime out of it, so reading the light novel is really your best best for now.
