Yeah I agree. The finale wasn't that good. It lacked in animation department and it feels like nothing much happened.
Though Dark Yang was interesting to see. You think she knows Abyss and Dark Link?

It felt a bit rushed, I guess? Since the final battle lasted only like 5 minutes or sth.
And we didn't really get to see any awesome moves like from when team rwby fought the mecha.
The fight was kinda all over the place. The only part I really liked was that giant dude with the blade, but that part was mostly cool only cause of the soundtrack.

And am I the only one thinking the masked character might be Yang's mom? .-.

NO! Yang and her mother are not twins. It's Yang's sister or something who lived with her mom probably.

Well, I guess it depends on how you look at it.

IMO, Yang and her mother having really similar faces isn't weird at all, especially so given RT's animation. Quite a few characters would look similar if you ignore the eyes and hair.

So yeah, I'd rather assume her to be Yang's mom --someone whom we know exists-- than a long lost twin >.>

Yang would have reacted a lot more differently if she know who that was. But seeing herself is something tha would even leave your face expresionless.
HOWEVER! If you still plan on chasing the "Yang's mother" theory, the scene looked very dreamlike and solitary, so it might be a projection of her younger self. One Yang remembers.

Finally caught up on the last four episodes or so.

Real shame Episode 11 had much better choreography and general tension than the finale. Finale was a bit of fairly awful fighting followed by Glynda (and company) swooping in and THE DAY IS SAVED. Good next season hook though, I suppose, with edgelord red katanas galore.

Life needs more Penny (and Nora) though.

Just read the news myself. Monty was the driving force behind everything good with rwby. RIP
