from what i have seen so far all the children from the main characters orphanage are really strong or have some type of ability

Nanohana House, the orphanage, is nothing special. Kaya is nothing more than a simple spell caster, Mio is your standard genius and Kazuki, in spite of apparently being very strong, isn't all that amazing really. (he's more powerful against opponents that lack of experience)

 

Kazuki is only in magika because of his mother. If not for that, he'd be just another sword student with his sister hitting on him constantly, possibly Kaguya as well, but none of the other girls (other than Mio) would give a damn about him.

A not entirely correct spoiler, having read all of volume 9 of the light novel.

His mom was the previous contractor of Lemegeton. Lemegeton was the one who made the decision to contract with Kazuki, having watched him grow up from a baby.
