Actually, they aren't. 

 

If you converted to Islam, you would receive a name like Alia, Muhammad, Mehmet or such (I'm using names of the top of my head). If you converted to Orthodox Christianity, depending on the country were you did it you would get a name that's Russian, Romanian, Greek, Armenian...

 

One of the more famous historical examples is the Russian Empress Katarina the Great. Name "Katarina" she got when she converted to Orthodox Christianity. Her birth name was Sophie.

 

Ottoman Empire required you to be muslim to get anywhere beyond a simple serf and this entailed getting Muslim or Turkish name. Mehmet Pasha Sokolović, one of the most powerful grand vezirs in Ottoman history, was born as Bajica Nenadić, a christian boy taken as a blood tax and converted to Islam.

History:

 

Riley had always been 'one of the guys' growing up. As a child, she only played with the boys, for the simple fact that the stuff they did was a lot more fun than what the girls did. The girls giggled incessantly and played with dolls, while the boys went off exploring and competing against one another. To Riley, it was clear which group was more enjoyable to be with.

 

Minus some teasing from the girls, all was well and good. The boys treated her just like they treated each other, as she had proven time and again that she was just as good (if not better) as them at everything they did.

 

It was fine until a new boy joined the circle of friends when they were all around 10 years old. A few weeks passed and the boy became a good friend of Riley's. He was even crazier than the rest, and was always up for any competition and dare. Every day, Riley found herself looking forward to seeing him, and she realized that she liked him. Not "like" like but "like" like, as she explained to her older sister when she went to her for advice. Riley's sister told her to let the boy know how she felt, so she prepared herself to do just that.

 

The very next day she pulled him aside and told him. His response was to stare at her, bewildered. "But we're both boys," he said in shock.

 

Riley returned his look of disbelief.

 

What did this little snot just say? she thought as she felt her face go red from both embarrassment and anger.

 

Another boy who had overheard the conversation spoke up. "Um, Riley's a girl, man," he paused, inspecting her. "But I guess I can get why you got mixed up. She's a tomboy who also has a boy name."

 

Riley promptly punched the two directly in their faces and stormed off.

 

As she had a fit, kicking and knocking over anything she could find, she resolved to be never be mistaken for a boy again. She grew out her hair and began to wear the smallest amount of clothing she could get away with, using the excuse that it was too hot in Sarrasand. She studied how her mother and sister acted and she read books with lady-like characters. After these changes, she was very pleased with the compliments she received. Boys constantly told her how attractive she was. The positive attention inflated her ego, and she realized she could get what she wanted from men by simply acting cute and seductive.

 

Of course, old habits die hard. Riley continued to be an adventurous and outgoing person, though she was now prone to getting angry whenever someone said anything that she felt implied she was too boyish.

 

At the age of 12, she discovered she could use Magic. She honed this talent whenever she went off exploring, which is to say every day. She eventually decided she wanted to join a guild, because the idea of going on adventures to save people and get paid for it was irresistible to her. Her parents told her she'd have to wait until she was 16.

 

Motivated, Riley spent  the next four years preparing herself for the life of a guild Mage. When it came to learning how to use magic, she had no one to mentor her. She did, however, have her sister's boyfriend (now husband) who was a relatively strong martial artist. Riley convinced him to teach her as much as he could.  

 

She did surprisingly well despite her limited resources, which convinced her that she was a natural and that being a guild Mage was her destiny. The biggest breakthrough of her training came when she combined her martial arts knowledge with her Magic, creating her own high speed, hyper-offensive fighting style.

 

On her 16th birthday, she announced her plans to go off and find a guild. Her mother and father were understandably hesitant, but eventually allowed her to leave, seeing how hard she had worked during the previous four years.. Riley's older sister gave her a black scrunchy as a going-away present, which Riley immediately put on, proudly stating that she would always keep it with her.

 

She spent the next year making her way to Friesburg (hearing that it was guild-central), wandering from city to city, looking for a brand new guild to join. The idea of being an original member of a guild that eventually grows to become the most powerful in the land was attractive, but it made it hard to find the right fit. She survived by doing odd jobs and manipulating men into providing her with shelter.

 

Some time after turning 17, Riley arrived in Singspiel. She found out about Four Winds, and knew instantly that it would be the guild she joined.

 

 

Personality:

 

Riley tends to be fairly temperamental, but is more often than not in a good, upbeat mood. She's an adventurous risk-taker who loves competition and enjoys nothing more than winning, especially when she's up against obnoxious, snot-nosed boys. Every boy is obnoxious and snot-nosed to her (at first, at least) so she likes playing with them by flaunting her body (which is fairly easy for her to do, considering her... minimalist style of dressing) and getting a reaction from them.  This helps feed her larger-than-ideal ego and reassures her that everyone knows shes a woman (despite no one mistaking her for a boy since she was 10).

 

She's manipulative, reckless, and selfish, but deep down she truly wants to work for the betterment of society. As long as she's recognized and compensated for doing so, of course. Oh, and she might have a kind and sweet side somewhere down there too. Maybe.

 

 

Magic: Wind Magic.

 

Inventory:

- A black scrunchy she received from her sister.

 

The only armor Riley wears into battle is a magical set of gauntlets and greaves that she stole from an old man who attempted to bed her while she stayed at his inn. The man was a right asshole and completely deserved to have his possessions stolen. Riley assures you of this.

 

This equipment can be used to block conventional weapons and weak magic. They give Riley a boost in speed and strength, allowing her to hit harder, move faster, and jump higher.

Cobra Punch: A flying punch. When done by the book, Riley brings her rear foot forward, feigning a kick, before snapping it back while jumping forwards off her front foot and throwing a punch.

Flying Knee: Riley rushes at her opponent before jumping off one leg explosively and kneeing with the other. When fully enhanced by her Wind Magic, this is by far her most devastating attack.

Zephyr: By using wind to push herself forward, Riley's speed increases. Can be used to jump a bit higher and fall slower by pushing from below.

Wind Burst: Riley pushes precisely and strongly on her arms/legs when she attempts to hit her target, increasing the speed and power of the attack.

Wind Blast: Riley fires a violent blast of wind when throwing a hit. The wind extends about 2-4 feet beyond her reach, depending on the force of the hit, and dissipates very quickly beyond that.

I was just pointing out that thematically the last name doesn't fit. This has nothing to do with me trying to find flaws in your CS so pls no trippin' brah. I mean Vaf went through the trouble of writing elaborate histories for each of the places so it only makes sense to follow what he has set up. Yeah at the end of the day it's a very minor issue, but hey it would be nice if we as rpers could show some respect to the work he has put in.

History:

 

Swift doesn’t remember too much about what happened that day beyond wanting to see how high she could climb; her first clear memory was of the clouds in the sky, being cradled in massive scaly hands and feeling the wind through the gaps in the claws. Her next memory was of mountains and fields, high enough to touch the clouds, breeze always hugging at her, and toddling towards a massive dragon.

 

“Well now child, aren’t you afraid of me? Heh, interesting....and you look like you'll at least be a cute one....”

 

As if she’d be afraid, especially with how good the winds felt….

 

Wait thinking about it, that part probably happened first. The first one was more impressive as far as she was concerned though; flying was awesome. As so began her first meeting with who she later learned to be the dragon Brigale. She didn’t need to be told to keep this meeting a secret; this was one thing that she wasn’t going to share ever. Meeting a dragon was filled with awesome; she had someone to talk to, someone who was really good with homework and even taught her how to use magic! They told her that she didn’t have enough mana to use magic but Brigale did it anyway!

 

But then that was part of why she loved spending so much time with her in the first place; Brigale was the only person she had met who was truly free. Not wrapped up in traditions, not trying to force everyone into a predestined role and definitely not going on about some nonsense about her greatest joy being finding a way to serve the Emperor. If anyone else preferred living like that, all the power to them but it grated against her from the moment she was old enough to notice it, which did explain just why she spent her time wandering so close to the mountain ranges in the first place.

 

Brigale also taught her lots of life’s important things, like how to go about beating up annoying people, how to pick your battles, why knowing how to read a map was a good thing, the real birds and bees lecture (she didn’t know how Brigale made the diagrams or where she got the pictures) and that when you had epic healing and the power of a dragon, you could get away with a lot of fun habits that lesser folks would collapse under.

 

As the years passed, eventually Brigale saw it fit to give Swift a test of her abilities; she sent her protégé out into the world to wander and learn, considering the test passed if Swift managed to find her way back to Brigale and prove how much she had grown. This was something that was going to be easier said than done given that Brigale never did get around to letting Swift know exactly where she lived when not with her in the first place, though she dropped enough hints to give the impression that it was somewhere pretty hazardous to non-dragons, leaving out the proving her growth to Brigale part; this was the dragon that proudly showed off battle wounds from fighting all kinds of things and considered a good brawl to be a friendly greeting. She needed to become awesome enough to still be fun to her cool aunt when they met again. Sounded easy enough, and she’d have all kinds of stories to share once she won too!

 

Besides, no matter how it ended, the important part was that it was her own tale to write without anyone trying to tell her where she should fit in, which is a lot more than she was looking forward too if she stayed in Byzance. And hey, she already had a lead on a good place to start; anyplace named after the best and awesomest element ever had to have some cool points going for it.

 

 

Personality: Swift is the kind of person who takes things as they come, drifting along in the wind with sporadic bursts of intensity as things interest her. She despises practically all forms of being chained down by tradition, customs or the notion that people can be slotted into positions in life on the whim of others, and is about as free spirited as her element, though that trait isn't the most noticeable given how mellow she is most of the time, but Brigale's habits have rubbed off on her quite a lot; she is not one to turn down a fight and has a persistent habit of playing snuggle-bunny with various women, clothing optional. As fickle as she might be though she will look out for those that she likes and she can be counted on to fix up the many injuries that come about in guild life.

 

Magic: Sky Dragon Slayer - A type of Magic which grants the user various characteristics belonging to a Sky Dragon, allowing them to incorporate the element of air into their body. However, unlike other types of Dragon Slayer Magic, Sky Dragon Slayer Magic is geared more towards healing and support rather than offense. Still quite capable of offense though; wind can hurt.

 

Inventory: The eyes of Moe: When Swift fully opens her eyes, the revealed sight completely the package of pure adorable so powerful that many have fallen to the cute and ended up treating her like a stuffed toy made for hugging (not that she minds if certain people do it) this power - oh wait you meant actual magic stuff? Nope.

Sky Dragon’s Scales: A constant and hard to notice swirling wind all around Swift’s body that works wonders at deflecting and pushing away attacks.

 

Sky Dragon’s Claw: Swift fires a quick burst of wind from a limb which seriously speeds up the motion of said limb. A lot. The swirling winds don’t hurt either – well not Swift anyway.

 

Gale Wing: Swift wraps two limbs this time in miniature twisters that she swings around like whips to smack things.

 

Winds of Change: This burst of magic takes someone and makes them bigger, better, faster, stronger. Again, limited range so stay close for casting.

History: Born in the small Byzance village close to Trabazon, a frontier city near the border between the Holy Imperium and Freiburgs, Leyla had only a life of a serf ahead of her. Nobody expected much from daughters, they were just poor substitutes for sons when it came to fieldwork and additional mouth to feed. For her parents it would have been very well if she just starved to death and spared them the trouble. But Leyla had no intention of perishing on some small farm, despite her parent's wishes. When she was fourteen she took the clothes of one of her brothers and, disguised as a boy, joined one of Byzance's raiding parties which often made incursions into the territory of the Free Cities to pillage every settlement or caravan which was unfortunate to find itself on their way.  

Even there it was expected that this short and scrawny boy would die on the first raid and leave his corpse on the other side of the border, yet Leyla amazed them all and survived her first, second, third and dozen more raids. Ironically, in two years since she joined the raiding party it was only her who survived of its original members. It was about this time, when she became the captain of the group, that her gender was discovered, but nobody was foolish enough to attempt to tell her that women shouldn't play at war. Most of them knew they wouldn't survive it.

Despite her capabilities, however, it seemed as if Leyla would be stuck at the position of the raiding captain. She didn't complain, it was exciting and plunder allowed her to live far better than any commoner, bar rich merchants. But fate had more in store for the young girl. After a year as a captain, Leyla discovered her aptitude for magic. A bit late, but it nonetheless caught the attention of the governor of Trabazon, Sengek-bey, who was himself a Magister. The old man had his eyes on the young female captain for a while, but she was still just a commoner and he dealt with her through proxies. Now, though, he offered to be her personal tutor so she could develop her magical capabilities.

Thus the two more years passed on the frontier. Leyla was a raiding captain during the day and Sengek-bey's apprentice during the night and has garnered large renown on both sides of the border and a nickname “She-Wolf”. At the beginning of the third year since she took the apprenticeship, Sengek-bey was recalled back to the capital of the empire, the city of Charron itself, and he had taken his favorite subordinate with him. Say what you will about the Imperium as a whole, its capital city was a sight that would leave even the most seasoned traveler speechless. For a young girl who was used only to the sight of the Free Cities close to the border and Trabazon, Charron blew her mind.

Within the capital Leyla’s frontier reputation was unknown, much to Sengek-bey’s satisfaction. He hid her true abilities from the rest of the court, introducing her as his slave who he took a liking for. Nobody suspected Leyla was anything else, even as her master’s enemies began disappearing and he rose quickly in status. For everyone, she was still just an attractive slave girl. Well, not for everyone…

During her stay in the capital she met Ursun, a young man close to her age. Now, Leyla slept with men before, and there was that whole apprenticeship thing, but she was never actually in love with anyone before Ursun. She initially tried to disregard her feelings, but eventually began meeting with the young man while hiding her infatuation from her master, fearing he’d forbid her to get too close to others. Still, love didn’t make her a complete fool and she didn’t reveal her true self to Ursun, at least not immediately. It took years of trust building for Ursun to get her to tell him about her role in Sengek-beys quick rise in the capital. And that’s when everything began falling apart.
 

Only a week after Leyla’s confession to her lover Sengek-bey was imprisoned for treason. Seemingly out of nowhere charges began piling up: for murder, for embezzlement, for conspiring with the enemy of the Imperium; even Leyla’s past as the She-Wolf was revealed. After that, the paranoid nature of Byzance’s court politics did the rest. Sengek-bey was condemned to impalement and Leyla to hanging. The She-Wolf wasn’t stupid. She knew who was responsible for the fall of her master. Before her escape from the capital she met with Ursun one more time and he revealed himself to be the agent of Sengek-bey’s rival. He offered her the employment with his master, but Leyla was too enraged by his betrayal to have any mind for pragmatism. As she climbed the ship bound for Freiburgs, alarms were sounded by the city guards who found Ursun flayed head at the palace gates.

Once in Freiburgs, Leyla was surprised how little attention she got. She thought her infamy as the She-Wolf of the frontier would’ve made her life in the Free Cities difficult, but turns out that the two bordering empires were little different in some matters and nobody suspected the young girl of being the infamous and brutal raiding captain. Even her birth name wasn’t known to many, with only her nickname surviving in the rumors. Deciding to use the opportunity to start a new life (and in need of money and lodgings), Leyla joined the young Four Winds guild- her master did say that magic should be developed constantly after all.   

Personality: Leyla has earned infamy in the frontiers and beyond due to the lack discipline and brutality of the parties she led.  There’s no act that civilized men would not abhor that Leyla and her men didn’t do. Just listing them would take too much space. In her mind, Leyla sees nothing wrong with this and to this day she doesn’t have regrets about her time on the frontier. She risked her life everyday on those raids in the service of her country, it’s only fair she took some compensation. And if she and her men killed a lot of people, what of it? Many of them were too attached to their worldly possessions and others were soldiers meant to stop them. In the end, all men must die, what’s the problem if they are sent on their way few years sooner?

The She-Wolf likes her nickname, she does. The wolf perfectly represents both her ferocity and her pack mentality. Although she’s pragmatic most of the time, when it comes to those close to her, her pack, Leyla has a hard time keeping her cool. She expects every man to pull his own weight during the raids, death is part of the job then, but when her subordinates get in trouble back in Trabazon she would do all in her power to protect them, even if that would’ve made her some enemies. Even her master, despite being lecherous old fart, was a part of her pack, although she never said it to him because he would either find it insulting or laugh to her face, and leaving him behind in Charron pains her to this day.

History: Being born with magic was always a wondrous thing. You have power most people do not. And so much potential. But despite his magical advantage, by the age of Fourty-Six Victor had only two things he cared about. A magical ring he'd been left in a will. And a bottle of whiskey he was halfway through drinking. He was broke. He was homeless. Well, almost homeless. His unpracticed and wasted magical abilities allowed him to create something of an empty void in which he could sleep. Though he often thought it might blink out of existence when he fell asleep. He supposed drunkenly disappearing into non-existence wasn't a bad way to go. At least it'd be painless.

Throughout his life Victor had consistently made the wrong choice. He was stupid with his money and belongings. He was far too sharing, to the point that he had nothing left anymore. In short. He screwed it all up. He'd made a little money every once in a while, brokering deals between two parties. Using his contracts to ensure both parties kept in line, for fear of a swift magical death. But for most of his working life he'd been a labourer. Hauling crates back and forth. And, to put it bluntly, he regretted the whole damned lot of it. He was a rapidly aging man with nothing but broken dreams and a life full of nothing. A whole lifelong story of wasted potential and loss. That was all he had.

But not for long.

One day, as he was going about his business, he heard cries. Nobody else payed it any attention. Scared to encounter whatever caused the cries perhaps. But Victor went running. He didn't know it then, but that was when he saw the scene that changed his life. A young man lying on the floor, blood oozing from a wound in the chest, his father crying for help at his side. "Please." The man had begged. It was a pitiful sight. "Please help." Victor stood in shock. Of course Victor was going to help. He had his magical ring after all. A wound like this could be fixed up. As long as he didn't get there too late anyway. Just as he began moving to help, the man spoke again. "Please, I'll give you anything! Everything! Just save my son!" And then Victor paused.

Anything?

An idea flashed. It was dark, oh yes, and maybe it was impossible, but he was desperate and broken. Just as his whole life had been. But maybe it didn't have to be... "Anything?" Victor asked the man. With a puff of orange smoke a contract appeared in Victors hand, a quill appeared in the other. "Life for life, time for time. You get your wish, and I get mine." The father read as quickly as he could, and signed. Victor healed the young man with his magic ring. With his side of the bargain complete, the contract took effect. It had worked. The father got older whilst Victor got younger. Twenty five years exchanged between them.

He was desperate and broken. Just as his whole life had been. But maybe it didn't have to be...

He could start again.

Personality: Victor is a friendly man. And since regaining his youth he has made great effort to become known by as many people as possible. He decided that was one of his failures last time. Nobody knew what he could do. So nobody would come to him for trades and deals. But now he's 'The Arcane Auctioneer' as seen on posters plastered around in many places. And, like all businessmen, he may be trying to get a bargain and make profit at all times, but that doesn't mean he isn't fair. Nobody leaves him with the feeling that they've been ripped off. Even if they were from an objective point of view. They got what they wanted, and so did he.

The major driving force within him though, is fear. He longs to accomplish things. He wants to gather wealth and power. He wants friends and loved ones. Mostly he wants to go down a better path through life this time. He wants to actually live life this time. And the fear of ending up as he was before is what drives him. It leaves him always aiming for the upper hand. Though his greed and selfishness are more like a rash than a scar, flaring up when he feels hes headed down the path of his old life. And then he desperately clings to what he has, and scrapes around for anything more. A lot of people don't like him because of this greed. But even when that happens, deep down he's still the man who shared his way into poverty. The man who ran towards the screams as others walked away. And he always hopes people will realize that.

[Drunken Fist] ~ As a fighting style developed in the midst of inebriation it is, as you might expect, something of a chaotic, instinctual style of fighting. Not the sort of thing you could write down in notes and diagrams for people to study. Punches, kicks, weird flailing and numerous weird attacks make for a rather unpredictable fighting style.
[Opportunity Knocks] ~ In a true kerfuffle things can get rather hairy. In those situations, you grab whatever is at hand to try and even the odds. Victor is quite good at fighting with things such as stools, glasses, bottles and whatever else you may find lying around a bar. Yes, even peanuts.

Magic can be exchanged and bottled. Items can be traded. People can be compelled. Pacts can be made. Though, obviously, in order to give someone something he must already have it. He can't just make stuff out of nothing.
[Auction House] ~ A magical realm created by Victor. An alternate dimension, if you will. A space that only Victor controls access too. It's something like a warehouse, with a few rooms attached to provide Victor with housing. There are rows upon rows of shelves and displays in the main room. A veritable treasure trove, or it will be when he fills it. Of course, in order to trade something, he will need to have it already. He can't just create anything and everything out of thin air right? He's not some kind of god after all. And this is where he keeps his things.
[Delivery Service] ~ Technique that works a lot like the magic of ExQuip users. Allowing him to summon things, from the Auction House, at will. Things he summons to him appear with a puff of orange smoke. That's just for style.

 

 

Hmm. Pretty cool story and concept. The magic should prove to be interesting in action, though it does curt the line. ACCEPTED.

History:

Shura was a city located on top of a lake found somewhere in the land of Thalassa, populated by merchants of the lowest kind and the scummiest of them all was the lord who ruled the city. It was a rather stereotypical set-up, found in numerous children books and such, and people would generally just write it off as fiction, but it was unfortunately the truth. All people answered to the lord, regardless of status, for he was the ruler of the lake.

 

The boy was born without a name. It wasn’t that his mother, a concubine of the lord, didn’t have any affection for her child, but rather, the boy was not the son of the lord: rather, he was the child between her and a soldier, a classical love story, so to speak. The lord did discover the affair and after the execution of her lover, the concubine could only hide her child without naming him, leaving him in the hands of her lover’s father, an illusionist who could hide the boy from the rage of the lord. Thus, a lack of a name to further hide the boy’s identity would be incredibly useful, and the concubine did just that.

 

The boy’s grandfather was a former mage employed in some far off guild who had settled out in the town, working as a merchant. A drunkard who enjoys reminiscing about the glory days of being a mage, Lawrence was hardly the kind of man to raise a child, especially a child he could not love, since he blamed the boy for the death of his son. But he was a man who prided himself on keeping his promises, and although he could only hate the woman who ruined his family and the boy who resembled her so much, he taught the boy the magic he used to defend himself and help others. His training was perhaps the best training one could ask for: he would disguise his own appearance to everyone who walked around him, making it so that he could hide from the lord forever.

 

The boy was far from talented; in fact, Lawrence constantly reminded the boy of his lack of magical talent, but those reminders eventually became remarks of how much harder the boy worked to make up for that lack of magical talent. In order to try and supplement the boy’s weaknesses, Lawrence trained him with the use of staves, which provides its own form of magic.

 

The boy was raised without any schooling, rendering him pretty much illiterate and barely capable of counting. But he learned to take care of the ailing old man, who had managed to learn how to appreciate his grandson before passing from illness. All the while, for the past sixteen years, the illusionary genius, Lawrence, had hidden the child from the lord, teaching him his illusionary tricks and granting him a staff with magical properties so that the boy may fight, when the time comes.

 

But soon after Lawrence died, Shura was attacked. From what was known, the lord had allowed the town to be pillaged when his debts to a dark guild were brought to light, and he fled, leaving all of the people to burn as the guild razed the town to the waters that it floated upon. As it stood, the lord sold the town to pay off his debts, and the guild decided to turn the place into a hunting ground simply to deal with boredom, as they didn’t need the assets Shura provided.

 

The boy could only save one woman, and as they floated upon the remains of the boat he managed to get them both on, the woman began to cough up blood, an arrow wound striking her in the back. The wound was fatal, but as the boy and the woman looked at each other, it was the one time both parent and child could recognize one another. Placing her hand on his cheek, his mother whispered only one thing:

 

“Haruka.”

 

And those were the last words she spoke. The boy couldn’t cry. Like he couldn’t cry when Lawrence died. All he could do was float on the wood as he slowly made it to shore with the dead body of his mother and think the only dark thoughts he would ever think in his entire life.

 

He would bury her near a cliff that looked out into the sun, near to where he buried Lawrence. It was the least he could do, and he would dub the spot to be his the place where his family should be buried, and he set out to find what memento of his father he could find in the lake, settling for a dagger that his father had used from the remains of the shack where he used to live in.(which was buried next to his mother, bless the kid’s soul).

 

It would take Haruka quite some time to find another thing to do outside of looking for the former lord of Shura, around a year with numerous adventures (his favorite adventure being when he lead a village in conquering a small part of the land held by a rather avaricious mage) in fact. He would eventually stumble upon Singspiel, and with it, the newly formed Four Winds guild. His current style of dress and overall appearance is to pay homage to his mother; it makes Haruka look like a younger version of her.

 

Personality:

One could see Haruka as a child being stuck in a body that was simply too old for him. Whimsical, possessive, and playful, Haruka would rather go outside and play games with the other children rather than work, but unfortunately, that does not appear to be the case. Like a lot of children, he’s much more perceptive than he lets off, but unlike a lot of children, he’s lived long enough to see things that most children shouldn’t have to see, and it clearly made a mark on him. He likes the idea of friendship, but he doesn’t necessarily embrace it: after all, friends never last a lifetime. It seems like Haruka is unable to understand the concept of love or hatred: rather, only a fake smile or a neutral expression would ever grace his face.  He also doesn’t talk much, and although he’s not unintelligent, having an incredible amount of knowledge when it comes to the use of staves, combat, housework, cooking, and medicine, the lack of schooling has made his reading, writing, and arithmetic ability much to desire for. Overall, a very simple personality, and it is made much more apparent in his naming sense, too.

 

Magic:

[Demoniacal Suggestions] and [Wind Magic – Tonbogiri]

 

Inventory:

[Tonbogiri] – a legendary spear said to be so sharp that it could cut a dragonfly in half the moment it rested itself upon its blade. This is due to the coat of sharp winds that surround the blade of the weapon itself. The sheath itself makes the spear resemble a stave. It was originally acquired by Lawrence and passed down to Haruka prior to his death. It allows Haruka access to some wind magic, enough for combat and travel, as well as granting his Demoniacal Suggestions some more power. When flying with the spear, Haruka enjoys using it in stave form, riding on it like a broom.

 

[Katana] – A sword that Haruka acquired from Lawrence. Supposedly his father’s sword, it is just an ordinary Shura militia weapon. It is also incredibly difficult to break.

it doubles as illusionary magic, in a sense. It is unable to create replicas and only changes the appearance of an already-existing thing.

can induce a feeling of sickness as well as stopping his hearts (assuming

no resistance), and even force an adrenaline rush for himself in the

midst of battle.

Smell Suggestion – To change one’s perception of smell, quite useful when taking on a different appearance.

 

[Wind Magic - Tonbogiri] – A power associated with Tonbogiri, Haruka can use wind magic.

I’m assuming I have to split the 25 between his two magics and stuff. If you’re asking me where I’m going with this character, it’s the Mystogan path: magic through staves because his natural magical ability is incredibly low.

 

But he’s good at using staves, and they look cool. Gandalf would be jealous…I hope.

 

That said, it appears that I’m not going to have too much internet connection before I go to Brazil, it seems. And I have no idea if I’m going to even have internet in Belem, so there’s that. So don’t expect very swift edits, and super fast posts. But I'll do my best to break the rules somehow and acquire the internet in the rain forest.

 

Hmm. Magic is fine, but the backstory does not make a terrible amount of sense for Thalassa. There are no lords in Thalassa and Shura sounds like a place from Sarrasand. Also, Thalassa is the one who have been doing the invading recently. You could have been born in occupied Sarrasand territories. Please revise that part.

History:  

 The Schwarzenburg family has been known to be in service to the Imperial Court, directly serving Emperors and Empresses in their glorious lineage. They originally came from surrounding areas in the early days of the empire, and impressed with the power that Byzance displayed at the time, the Schwarzenburg family committed themselves to their service. Today the Empire is but a shadow of it's former self, and Zack knows this, as do many others, but unlike them he is not blinded by that pride. His mother and father are both Magisters, so naturally he himself was expected to follow them, his upbringing said as much. Training his magic every day, occasionally with guidance from his parents. Of course, he didn't always look at his home country cynically, when he was much younger, his parents were what he aspired to. To become just like them.

 

Though as he grew older, he became wiser, and had more insight. His home country slowly began to look more and more pathetic, as he witnessed nobles and bureaucrats hang onto their lineage and long gone glory that was once the Byzance Empire. In his schooling he had done history too, but the teachers seemed to be very preoccupied with the old glory that was their home country, except one teacher, and old man, librarian, shared with Zack some other aspects of history, other empires and both their joys and horrors. From then on was when he began to see what was beyond their crumbling empire which was destined to fall, and change. As he read, there were other similar empirical regimes from thousands of years ago, and they too disappeared into history. He was convinced Byzance was soon at it's end, but his parents would never let him leave.

 

He spent years with this intrigue, though not long enough. He became known as a 'treasonous boy', when he blurted out against an arrogant noble. With his skill he managed to escape the angered noble's bodyguards, and was pardoned thanks to the authority his family possessed, but he was given a thorough talk. This resulted in a disagreement, and with disgust he fled Byzance for the lands north, the free cities of Freiburgs. If he tried, he could track the very roots of his family to originally living in this side of the continent, but he couldn't care less at the moment. What he needed was money. He liked it a lot better here, no one acted uppity for the sake of it, and those that were, he quelled silently. Eventually he joined the Four Winds guild, a lot of other guilds were somewhat reluctant to let him join, he was from Byzance, and many didn't have a good experience with Byzance nobles, it appears that the misplaced pride of his home country was still running strong outside of it too, and this only made him hate the people he called fellow countrymen further. Regardless, he found a place with the Four Winds guild, though some members were reluctant, the Guild Master was completely okay with it, which suited him.

 

Personality:

 Zack is generally a nice guy, raised in high class of Byzance gives him an appreciation for the finer things, though his journey from his home to Freiburgs began to open him to simpler things. He doesn't seem as sheltered as he actually is, but unlike many of his class mates back when he was in school in Byzance, who were raised in privilege, or at least led to believe such, he didn't take everything for granted. His lifestyle was a bit rougher, as he was expected to also become an adept Magister in service of Byzance, so he knew the value of hard work. He acquired a distaste for the prideful, where he would act with vindication. He shows a darker side at times like that, that appears to be leaking to other aspects of his personality.

 

Magic: Holy Chains of Intervention

 A magic specific to his family, it entails the creation of holy chains of magic, able to bind and constrict foes, as well as be used to swing and zip around the battlefield. Chains can be tipped with blades of the user's discretion, and can even make an incredibly short chain with a gigantic tip to make something like a sword or weapon to use. This magic has three uses depending on the user, ranged assault where the user sends out large numbers of chains to attack the foe, and manipulate a large number of chains, rogue and mobile combat, where the user makes use of the zipping capabilities, giving them unparalleled mobility on the battlefield, furthermore the chains do not need to hit anything to let him start swinging, as the user can make the tip that reference point, and finally the snarer, which all users of this magic will be able to do, which is essentially snaring enemies and locking them down for capture or execution.

Alright. Let's deal with the controversy over names and culture first. I personally don't really care. Anima's point was interesting - and rather legitimate. Byzance is actually the only country that would care on that particular point because they are the only ones (Thalassa actually comes close as well) to have an organized religion that interacts on a national level. Religion in most other countries is a lot more... well... location based. Sanctuaries, holy sites, temples, shrines - the whole shebang. Religious tension with Byzance is that Byzance promotes a religion that goes against what most people believe in the occupied territories. But that's a minor detail - and I am also not particularly hung up on Germanic naming conventions. Freiburgs is vaguely northern european/central european in style and feel. Just look at Joker's cs, for instance. The south is even a bit like Spain - think with Sarrasand influences, and both Sarrasand and Freiburgs have Byzance-style buildings, city-layouts, and even worship temples from the time of the occupation. Now, a lot of those were destroyed in times of anti-byzancian feelings, but the legacy is there. A Freiburgsian family joining Byzance is nothing extraordinary - if somewhat unfavourable. After all, they did choose the invaders over their own people. Fortunately for you - and you noted that in your history - Four Winds does not discriminate.

 

Magic seems fine. Just remember to put down those named techniques at some point.  Once that's done, all should be in order for you to be accepted.

History:

 

Riley had always been 'one of the guys' growing up. As a child, she only played with the boys, for the simple fact that the stuff they did was a lot more fun than what the girls did. The girls giggled incessantly and played with dolls, while the boys went off exploring and competing against one another. To Riley, it was clear which group was more enjoyable to be with.

 

Minus some teasing from the girls, all was well and good. The boys treated her just like they treated each other, as she had proven time and again that she was just as good (if not better) as them at everything they did.

 

It was fine until a new boy joined the circle of friends when they were all around 10 years old. A few weeks passed and the boy became a good friend of Riley's. He was even crazier than the rest, and was always up for any competition and dare. Every day, Riley found herself looking forward to seeing him, and she realized that she liked him. Not "like" like but "like" like, as she explained to her older sister when she went to her for advice. Riley's sister told her to let the boy know how she felt, so she prepared herself to do just that.

 

The very next day she pulled him aside and told him. His response was to stare at her, bewildered. "But we're both boys," he said in shock.

 

Riley returned his look of disbelief.

 

What did this little snot just say? she thought as she felt her face go red from both embarrassment and anger.

 

Another boy who had overheard the conversation spoke up. "Um, Riley's a girl, man," he paused, inspecting her. "But I guess I can get why you got mixed up. She's a tomboy who also has a boy name."

 

Riley promptly punched the two directly in their faces and stormed off.

 

As she had a fit, kicking and knocking over anything she could find, she resolved to be never be mistaken for a boy again. She grew out her hair and began to wear the smallest amount of clothing she could get away with, using the excuse that it was too hot in Sarrasand. She studied how her mother and sister acted and she read books with lady-like characters. After these changes, she was very pleased with the compliments she received. Boys constantly told her how attractive she was. The positive attention inflated her ego, and she realized she could get what she wanted from men by simply acting cute and seductive.

 

Of course, old habits die hard. Riley continued to be an adventurous and outgoing person, though she was now prone to getting angry whenever someone said anything that she felt implied she was too boyish.

 

At the age of 12, she discovered she could use Magic. She honed this talent whenever she went off exploring, which is to say every day. She eventually decided she wanted to join a guild, because the idea of going on adventures to save people and get paid for it was irresistible to her. Her parents told her she'd have to wait until she was 16.

 

Motivated, Riley spent  the next four years preparing herself for the life of a guild Mage. When it came to learning how to use magic, she had no one to mentor her. She did, however, have her sister's boyfriend (now husband) who was a relatively strong martial artist. Riley convinced him to teach her as much as he could.  

 

She did surprisingly well despite her limited resources, which convinced her that she was a natural and that being a guild Mage was her destiny. The biggest breakthrough of her training came when she combined her martial arts knowledge with her Magic, creating her own high speed, hyper-offensive fighting style.

 

On her 16th birthday, she announced her plans to go off and find a guild. Her mother and father were understandably hesitant, but eventually allowed her to leave, seeing how hard she had worked during the previous four years.. Riley's older sister gave her a black scrunchy as a going-away present, which Riley immediately put on, proudly stating that she would always keep it with her.

 

She spent the next year making her way to Friesburg (hearing that it was guild-central), wandering from city to city, looking for a brand new guild to join. The idea of being an original member of a guild that eventually grows to become the most powerful in the land was attractive, but it made it hard to find the right fit. She survived by doing odd jobs and manipulating men into providing her with shelter.

 

Some time after turning 17, Riley arrived in Singspiel. She found out about Four Winds, and knew instantly that it would be the guild she joined.

 

 

Personality:

 

Riley tends to be fairly temperamental, but is more often than not in a good, upbeat mood. She's an adventurous risk-taker who loves competition and enjoys nothing more than winning, especially when she's up against obnoxious, snot-nosed boys. Every boy is obnoxious and snot-nosed to her (at first, at least) so she likes playing with them by flaunting her body (which is fairly easy for her to do, considering her... minimalist style of dressing) and getting a reaction from them.  This helps feed her larger-than-ideal ego and reassures her that everyone knows shes a woman (despite no one mistaking her for a boy since she was 10).

 

She's manipulative, reckless, and selfish, but deep down she truly wants to work for the betterment of society. As long as she's recognized and compensated for doing so, of course. Oh, and she might have a kind and sweet side somewhere down there too. Maybe.

 

 

Magic: Wind Magic.

 

Inventory:

- A black scrunchy she received from her sister.

 

The only armor Riley wears into battle is a magical set of gauntlets and greaves that she stole from an old man who attempted to bed her while she stayed at his inn. The man was a right asshole and completely deserved to have his possessions stolen. Riley assures you of this.

 

This equipment can be used to block conventional weapons and weak magic. They give Riley a boost in speed and strength, allowing her to hit harder, move faster, and jump higher.

Cobra Punch: A flying punch. When done by the book, Riley brings her rear foot forward, feigning a kick, before snapping it back while jumping forwards off her front foot and throwing a punch.

Flying Knee: Riley rushes at her opponent before jumping off one leg explosively and kneeing with the other. When fully enhanced by her Wind Magic, this is by far her most devastating attack.

Zephyr: By using wind to push herself forward, Riley's speed increases. Can be used to jump a bit higher and fall slower by pushing from below.

Gust: Riley pushes hard on herself with wind for a split second, shifting her position quickly. 

Wind Burst: Riley pushes precisely and strongly on her arms/legs when she attempts to hit her target, increasing the speed and power of the attack.

Wind Blast: Riley fires a violent blast of wind when throwing a hit. The wind extends about 2-4 feet beyond her reach, depending on the force of the hit, and dissipates very quickly beyond that.

A major note though - dragon slayer is not an option. I just realized that the conversation did not happen in the ooc, but Chizzy approached me concerning lightning dragon magic but I turned him down. I will have to do the same to you. I added to the FAQ a section concerning this. You can keep the magic - just adapt it to a non-dragon thing. Also, healing and wind would have to be different things, unless you get creative.

History: Felix is from a town in Freiburgs. He stayed inside most days and read. Sometimes he wrote, but he wasn't very good at it. He mostly read stories of grand adventurers and despicable villains, rife with heroism and bloodshed. He often identified more with the villains than the heroes. He was very happy, then, when he found an author that wrote about villains. There were heroes in these stories too, of course, but they were just a means to an end. A literary device. The villains were the compelling ones, the ones given their proper attention. Felix read these stories almost fanatically. He never got tired of them.

 

In addition to reading, Felix also practiced magic. A character in one of his books brought dark creatures from a grimoire to life to do his bidding, and Felix thought that would be a worthy investment of his time. He didn't like real people. They didn't vibe with him, didn't understand him. And he didn't understand them. He didn't really want to, especially if he could simply learn to bring to life things that he did understand.

 

It was hard work, though. Learning magic on your own with limited resources was actually extremely difficult. Felix, however, had literally nothing better to do due to his extreme social isolation, so he didn't mind too much. Busy work was good sometimes. He left his town and searched out a instruction and through various means found out that he was a fairly talented magician.

 

With no specific place to return to, as he had his books with him, he joined the Four Winds Guild, which had recently been formed in the city he found himself in. His current goals are to refine his craft and to advance his skills as an author--perhaps one day he would bring forth his own creations upon the world. What a wonderful thing that would be.

 

Personality: Felix has a fascination with tragic ideas. He's not evil, nor is he amoral or wrought with sinister intent. He simply likes the notion of being the one no one wants to see win. That sort of adversity that is encouraged by society seems to fit his own understanding of himself. He's generally cheerful and many find this to be upsetting, for he is morbid and solitary, which makes his upbeat attitude creepy. He does not have a real aversion to other people, but he is also not inclined to make friends. His aloofness if very calculated so that he might take on the role of one of the compelling villain-type characters that he likes so much.

Nyx's childhood was a rather unremarkable one. He was one of but many orphans scattered along the streets of Sipani, the city of fogs. He fought, and stole, and did what he needed to survive like everybody else. If you asked Nyx though, he would say his life did not truly begin until he was adopted into the mage guild, Gucci Star, buy its leader Don Lorenzo. "There's a devil in you. I can see it in your eyes." Don Lorenzo had said to the dirty and weary child he had picked up off the streets.

 

Many things could be said about Don Lorenzo. To Nyx, though he was his father, his mentor, and someone to be respected, he certainly couldn't be called a good man. Even as a child, Nyx had seen the ruthlessness of his leader. Orphans were no stranger to violence and abuse, but there was something far colder to be found in the methods of the Gucci Star mage, their leader in particular. He couldn't be called friendly either. Nyx swore that the permanent dour scowl on Don Lorenzo's face could scare away even a dragon. He was however, an honorable man, and one that created and upheld the three sacred rules of the guild. 1) To never harm a child. 2) To never betray another member of the family. 3) To never associated with a Dark Guild. 

 

At the age of sixteen Nyx had officially become a "man of honor" and earned his spot in the guild. It was not long until he was one of the top enforcers within the guild, his specialty in forging magic proving particularly useful for their business endeavors. But everything changed the night Don Lorenzo passed and his son Cesare took over. He adored blood and wealth as much as his father, but without the restraint. When Nyx discovered that Cesare had broken the third rule and formed a business agreement with a Dark Guild, he decided to take action and report it to a member of the Mage Council. Unbeknownst to him, the council member was on Cesare's payroll, and Nyx was quickly banished and pursued by his former guild for breaking the second rule. He took refuge in the nearby city of Singspiel, taken in and protected by the leader of the Four Winds Guild, Fran Boisse and since then has (mostly) turned over a new leaf.

 

Personality:

Given his history as former member a rather shady guild, and his snide and sometimes condescending attitude Nyx has had a difficult time earning the trust of his fellow guild members. But even though it may not seem like it at times, he values his friends and allies above all else. He feels he can never repay his debt to Fran Boisse, and would gladly give up his life to protect the Guild Master or any of his comrades. To his enemies though, Nyx is as vicious as they come. Old habits die hard, and most of Nyx's old habits include fun things like assassination and extortion.

History: Lot grew up in a fairly large city called Altena. It is located not too far from Singspiel and the city is known for having the best mangoes in town. Sadly, Lot is not the biggest mango lover. He prefers apples. Nevertheless, the child was always an adventurous one and he would often find himself journeying deep into the woods just on the outskirts of the city. There were many rumors surrounding this particular forest, the most notable one being the legend of the Diawolf.  It was often told that a great and powerful beast called the Diawolf resided in the forest and would randomly kill any poor and unsuspecting soul in just a moment's notice. Many people were warned to steer clear of the forest at all costs. Sadly Lot, being the idiot that he is, took no heed to these warnings and took the liberty of venturing through the forest anyway. The rumors eventually turned out to be true and upon meeting the beast for the first time was like nothing Lot had ever experienced. The werewolf stood, towering above him at a whopping 10 feet tall! The fearless boy wasn't scared though. He proceeded to challenge the beast to a death match.

 

To make a long story short, the crazy kid somehow managed to overcome the Diawolf and unwittingly discovered his latent magical ability: Take Over Magic. 

 

It wasn't too long after this event that Lot stumbled across an up and coming guild called Four Winds.

 

Personality: Lot is cocky individual with a general carefree and goofy attitude. One of the main reasons he joined Four Winds was so he could meet other strong and powerful wizards. He is constantly challenging his fellow guild mates with the hopes of fighting them, improving himself, and growing as a wizard. Aside from fighting he has much love for good food and pretty women. All of this to say he always puts his friends above all else and is willing to die for his guild.

History: Born into a tribe of assassins, Dumitra's life was already decided. From a young age she was taken under the wing of the witches of Balaur, the mythical shadow Peryton worshiped by the cult. There her innate magic talents were ascertained with the help of an ancient artifact and she was put to training. Rigorously trained in the art of killing and the skills necessary, though her frame and built remained frail by the cults standards, it was her immense magical ability that was the source of their interest and thus from an early combat training soon she was put to mage training under the watchful eyes of the eleventh Witch of Balaur and the then head.

 

She did her first mission at a tender age of 8 and when children in other parts of their world were playing with toys and enjoying swings, she was toiling in blood and dirt and wielding curved swords and daggers. But like everything, their cult soon ran out of its purpose, which meant it was right for its existence to be purged and when Byzance proposed this to Freiburg, they weren't much bothered about what the Imperium wanted to do on the fringe forests,  but it was seen as the right way ahead for the peace to flourish between the two kingdoms. Thus a force of the finest Witch-hunters and soldiers were enlisted and the cult was put out with extreme prejudice, the soldiers killing children and adults alike none was spared barring one.

 

Yes, our heroine survived. Hiding cowardly in the bloody shadow of the great witch she had followed the most important teaching of her training. 'There was no cowardice in survival'. She was 11 then. For the next decade she slowly gathered the facts around the Purge and reached her own conclusions. She needed to execute those responsible, but she was too weak to go against their combined might. So she had to bide her time like a true follower of her trade and avenge the fallen.

 

Thus, she joined Four Winds under GM Fran Boisse, hoping the many adventure she would partake in would bring her closer to her sworn enemies and maybe, just maybe she'll be strong enough to exact her vengeance.

 

Personality: She is a quiet, keep to herself kind of girl that is very curious about the world outside so she mostly busies herself with books outside of missions. She rarely interacts with others but when she does she is usually very courteous in her own way and speaks rather softly. On the battlefield, she is one of the best allies to have as she fights from afar and helps out every member the best she can. She is not the take charge kinds and is happy taking orders. Due to her past she is also a little guarded and doesn't like to talk about herself but is a good listener. She also doesn't have the standard idea of Law and Justice and Honor holds no meaning for her. She'll happily kill a child or an old person if it means getting her objective ticked.

History:

 

Swift doesn’t remember too much about what happened that day beyond wanting to see how high she could climb; her first clear memory was of the clouds in the sky, being cradled in massive scaly hands and feeling the wind through the gaps in the claws. Her next memory was of mountains and fields, high enough to touch the clouds, breeze always hugging at her, and toddling towards a massive dragon.

 

“Well now child, aren’t you afraid of me? Heh, interesting....and you look like you'll at least be a cute one....”

 

As if she’d be afraid, especially with how good the winds felt….

 

Wait thinking about it, that part probably happened first. The first one was more impressive as far as she was concerned though; flying was awesome. As so began her first meeting with who she later learned to be the dragon Brigale. She didn’t need to be told to keep this meeting a secret; this was one thing that she wasn’t going to share ever. Meeting a dragon was filled with awesome; she had someone to talk to, someone who was really good with homework and even taught her how to use magic! They told her that she didn’t have enough mana to use magic but Brigale did it anyway!

 

But then that was part of why she loved spending so much time with her in the first place; Brigale was the only person she had met who was truly free. Not wrapped up in traditions, not trying to force everyone into a predestined role and definitely not going on about some nonsense about her greatest joy being finding a way to serve the Emperor. If anyone else preferred living like that, all the power to them but it grated against her from the moment she was old enough to notice it, which did explain just why she spent her time wandering so close to the mountain ranges in the first place.

 

Brigale also taught her lots of life’s important things, like how to go about beating up annoying people, how to pick your battles, why knowing how to read a map was a good thing, the real birds and bees lecture (she didn’t know how Brigale made the diagrams or where she got the pictures) and that when you had epic healing and the power of a dragon, you could get away with a lot of fun habits that lesser folks would collapse under.

 

As the years passed, eventually Brigale saw it fit to give Swift a test of her abilities; she sent her protégé out into the world to wander and learn, considering the test passed if Swift managed to find her way back to Brigale and prove how much she had grown. This was something that was going to be easier said than done given that Brigale never did get around to letting Swift know exactly where she lived when not with her in the first place, though she dropped enough hints to give the impression that it was somewhere pretty hazardous to non-dragons, leaving out the proving her growth to Brigale part; this was the dragon that proudly showed off battle wounds from fighting all kinds of things and considered a good brawl to be a friendly greeting. She needed to become awesome enough to still be fun to her cool aunt when they met again. Sounded easy enough, and she’d have all kinds of stories to share once she won too!

 

Besides, no matter how it ended, the important part was that it was her own tale to write without anyone trying to tell her where she should fit in, which is a lot more than she was looking forward too if she stayed in Byzance. And hey, she already had a lead on a good place to start; anyplace named after the best and awesomest element ever had to have some cool points going for it.

 

 

Personality: Swift is the kind of person who takes things as they come, drifting along in the wind with sporadic bursts of intensity as things interest her. She despises practically all forms of being chained down by tradition, customs or the notion that people can be slotted into positions in life on the whim of others, and is about as free spirited as her element, though that trait isn't the most noticeable given how mellow she is most of the time, but Brigale's habits have rubbed off on her quite a lot; she is not one to turn down a fight and has a persistent habit of playing snuggle-bunny with various women, clothing optional. As fickle as she might be though she will look out for those that she likes and she can be counted on to fix up the many injuries that come about in guild life.

 

Magic: Sky Dragon Slayer - A type of Magic which grants the user various characteristics belonging to a Sky Dragon, allowing them to incorporate the element of air into their body. However, unlike other types of Dragon Slayer Magic, Sky Dragon Slayer Magic is geared more towards healing and support rather than offense. Still quite capable of offense though; wind can hurt.

 

Inventory: The eyes of Moe: When Swift fully opens her eyes, the revealed sight completely the package of pure adorable so powerful that many have fallen to the cute and ended up treating her like a stuffed toy made for hugging (not that she minds if certain people do it) this power - oh wait you meant actual magic stuff? Nope.

Sky Dragon’s Claw: Swift fires a quick burst of wind from a limb which seriously speeds up the motion of said limb. A lot. The swirling winds don’t hurt either – well not Swift anyway.

 

Gale Wing: Swift wraps two limbs this time in miniature twisters that she swings around like whips to smack things.

 

Winds of Change: This burst of magic takes someone and makes them bigger, better, faster, stronger. Again, limited range so stay close for casting.

But it is because Jeanne does not open herself that easily to anyone, or rather, it’s difficult to gain her trust. But despite this, Jeanne does value her allies and guild, and she is willing to sacrifice anything to protect that harmony.

 

She is usually calm, a person who thoughtfully analyzes her actions and surroundings to coordinate better her choices with herself and her companions. Jeanne is a pacifist, and if able, will try to avoid any unnecessary conflict or bloodshed, and will punish anyone that creates those events.

Fortifications Tethers: Marion can launch these magical tethers to her allies, granting them a small improve on their physical capabilities. Marion can only create 2 tethers, and their links can be easily severed if attacked.

@Vaf: That usually takes multiple posts and a good part of four-five hours to kill if left untreated. Just that the symptoms are so common to influenza and general cramps that it is hard to detect unless you are looking for that possibility. I mainly kept it as a slowdown on the enemy. You know ragged breath, difficulty in swallowing and the shebangs. It has a purpose only if I manage to go along with the backstory bits I left open in the CS (namely a few murders of hunters of her clan.) Plus, mostly I'll shoot you a PM when I do have doubts.
