The following contains shipping content. If that isn't your thing, turn back now. w

I tried to contain myself, but this series is just serving it on a platter. Sun-Il's love for Jee-Han is simply too strong!! ( *´艸`) Well, of course if a pair are friendly it's easy to pair them up, especially if it's always made a point of that one of them touches the other a lot, but when Sun-Il's rage switch was flipped because he thought someone had done something to Jee-Han and Jee-Han actually commented that he had NEVER SEEN HIM LIKE THIS!! Best friends since childhood and he had never seen him get angry except when it came to his safety!! Σ(- ロ -;)
Then there were other suspicious things like Sun-Il never having any other friends (there's probably a non-shipping reason for this, but, well...) and then the dating sim... of course, he clears Sun-Il's route without even trying. lolololol

And then the weird amount of focus on Sun-Il being worried when Jee-Han had been contacted by Abyss auction... we get several panels so that Jee-Han can comment that he's never seen him sweat, even in summer, and then realizing that he must be worried. It's not that this in itself is strange, but drawing attention to things like this is usually for a purpose, because -- and this is the most important thing -- it takes extra time and effort!! When you're writing or filming live action it's rather quick and painless to add filler, but with drawing, animation, CG, and any other time consuming task, each frame matters, and you're not gonna spend three hours coloring something unless it's important. (Not saying these frames took three hours, just speaking in general) The same message could have been conveyed by simply showing Sun-Il running in and looking worried. Focusing on it, along with some other panels (the close-up panels of Sun-Il or Jee-Han's hands grabbing each others' shoulders) is suspicious. SUSPICIOUS!!! (Or it could just be really bad storyboarding. lol)

I was actually thinking since more girls had been introduced that Sun-Il's time was going to be cut down, but -- !! He remains! Huzzah! Not only that, "Affection" shows up... ヾ(◜▿‾ 三 ‾▿◝)ノ I thought it was just going to slip by, but when it was brought up by Jee-Han who was once again clueless... "Did he get a crush on a girl?"?!?! Ahahah I guess when it's right in front of you, you don't notice it, eh? Especially if someone's been like that all your life... though for someone who has such high INT he didn't notice that "worry" and "concern" were also pertaining to himself... hahahah
Like I mentioned above, this could have easily went by without comment, because I think "affection" is a pretty normal feeling for anyone to have, and even if it was only pertaining to his feelings at the moment and thus Jee-Han, it's still completely normal to have affection for your friends! And yet, it was pointed out, and more than that, Jee-Han for some reason assumed it was romantic.

Actually, I was wondering even before if this pairing was popular in the comments or the fan cafe, since I know Korean netizens can be surprisingly positive or negative about same-sex pairings, and especially the dating route one I imagine either got a lot of support or backlash for the Sun-Il route. So I was worried the author was going to distance the characters. But, instead, this appears...(*´▽`*) I gotta say, as a fan of this pairing from day one that was ✧・゚: *✧・゚:* \(◕﹏◕✿)/ *:・゚✧*:・゚✧

Well, I'm probably the only fan of this pair, but as I said, I couldn't contain it any more!! =w= It'll probably only become a topic of me talking to myself, though. hahaha

Normally I don't like shipping same-sex pairings if not even one of the pair is actually gay. I just don't see the point. But I see your point. Jee-Han and Sun-Il have had some notable bromance moments. Enough to infer. So not a fan of it, but understand why.

I have been waiting for this since the affection chapter showed up. Unfortunately, I doubt it would ever ever happen because good same-sex manga/manhwa/webcomic/etc are a rare delicacy. I think the author is a fan or something of same-sex pairings, with that little joke omake of him being able to go on a date with him. But we can still put on our shipping goggles.

Really? The whole idea makes no sense in my opinion. I can't see anything that would make either one of them lean that way, or even think of it. I see it more like Sung-il worrying about an army buddy.

If you're looking for a relationship that would make sense I submit Jee-han and Sae-young. I realize that it may not be the most romantically interesting relationship, however cute she may be, but it would be useful to both Jee-han and the Chunbumoon. Jee-han needs a group to work with for mutual protection, training, and more for the rest of his life, and the Chunbumoon clearly needs his abilities to address what appears to be a long-term slow(or not so slow) decline in power and influence. Even though arranged marriages aren't common today, they can have their legitimate uses. (A RL friend got married that way for similar kinds of reasons.) I can see the clan head and Jee-han's mom and dad(if he's even in the picture) forming some kind of mutually beneficial agreement. I'm sure the author could think of plenty of interesting things to do with the new couple as their relationship---or lack thereof---developed. That said, I fully expect that it won't happen.

UGH SORRY I'M TOO LAZY TO FIGURE OUT HOW DOES MULTI QUOTE LOL ヽ(。_°)ノ

@bkaa22

It all just comes down to what you like, and I think there's rarely a point to it. It's actually a bit similar to liking a series -- there isn't really a point to it, you just like it and want to talk about it... I guess? ╮( ̄▽ ̄")╭

@winebat

Hahahah, yeah, though I've been a fan of it since the first chapter (yeah... a pairing either hits me or it doesn't) I thought at least with the 'affection' chapter maybe I wouldn't be booed off the stage immediately (I was saying boo-urns!). Indeed, it's a shame that they're so rare, but if I've learned anything from Welcome to Room 305 it's that the general Korean populace REALLY, REALLY doesn't seem to care for homosexuals. (And from several authors noting frantically in some author's notes that "NO, __ ISN'T GAY!!!!")
It does seem to be the case, especially with Sun-Il not really caring (lol) In chapter number I forgot, Jee-Han was putting on his t-shirt and there was a tummy shot Σ(・ω・`|||) So from that, and the rampant amount of Sun-Il being shirtless, I presume the artist is a woman or likes fellas (in which case liking same-sex pairs is more likely, haha)
Baby, I was born with shipping goggles. (⌐■_■) //trying to sound cool but is a weirdo

@junyortrakr

Well... love doesn't make sense. Hahaha. Seriously though, sexuality and love in general isn't something that's really clear cut. You can be gay but fall in love with the opposite sex, straight but fall in love with the same sex, have absolutely no feelings or attraction for anyone at all except one person, have no feelings or attraction to anyone ever, be attracted to both sexes, be attracted more to one sex than the other, have crushes on the same/opposite sex even though you wouldn't actually date the person, fall in love with someone without having a sexual attraction, be 100% completely straight/gay...
Basically, people seem to think that characters default as straight. But if it isn't addressed, then they could just as easily be gay, bi, or any of 6 billion sexualities.

Obviously with Jee-Han it was illustrated in the dating sim extra that he was creeped out by it, but (and this is just a "but") even that could change (theoretically!!!). In both fiction and real life, people's feelings change all the time, and usually to their own surprise. People who initially hate each other later fall in love, people passionately in love later loathe each other, the famous trope of "everyone knows but them" -- hell, lots of people even get surprised when they fall for someone in general and can't even explain why they love them (and sometimes wish they didn't). Sometimes people will be friends for years and never think about them that way, and then something happens and they see them in a different light... etc, etc. People even fall in love with their captors. Now, that's more of the brain's way of coping with a messed up situation, but it's still "love" according to brain chemistry, anyhow.
Like I said, I'm not saying that's what's going on or what will go on, especially not in a story like this which probably isn't going to have a huge romantic plot or try to make a point about love -- all I'm saying is that anything is possible ┐( ̄ー ̄)┌

I digress. Personally, Sun-Il and Jee-Han make perfect sense to me ( *´艸`) But, in terms of Jee-Han showing interest, yes, it seems the only person so far he's shown any in is indeed her (though he can't handle her and it seems the pair was already axed based on the dating sim extra). However, I don't have any interest in it and even if it were to become canon I still wouldn't ^^; (Simply because my love for Sun-Il x Jee-Han is too strong OTL I don't have anything against Sae-Young) Personally I'd find that situation kind of depressing, if only because it'd be a for-benefits type marriage instead of ~for true love~ but marriage was always about land ownership anyway, so who cares?! JEE-HAN CAN JUST HAVE AN EXTRAMARITAL AFFAIR WITH SUN-IL
キタ━━━(゜∀゜)━━━!!!!! (Since Sun-Il is likely to be put in a loveless arranged marriage as well... hahhh....hahhh... YOU'VE ONLY FANNED MY FLAMES ヾ(*´ー`)ノ hahaha)

There are a lot of canon pairs out there that I like, and lots I don't care about or outright dislike. My interest in pairings doesn't have to do with their canoncity (???) but the pair themselves -- their dynamics, interactions, chemistry, relationship, all of that good stuff. (ღ˘⌣˘ღ) And, of course, when it comes to your tastes, it's always completely subjective.

Obviously, you can see it however you want, but how do you explain the fact that Jee-Han thought that "affection" was strange and thought that it meant romantic affection? I'm not trying to change your mind, I'm just curious how you interpreted that.

edit: watch me edit my posts 10,000 times because my stupid kaomoji keep getting fxxed up
and then watch me edit the OP because I forgot an entire whole thing. WTG champ
