If those are the ones, I'd still be confident you'd be better off with what you've bought. For the Sennheisers at least. I have a galaxy s3 that I got while my klipsches were still intact, and those came with these I'm pretty sure. I tried them out, then gave them to my little brother (he was thrilled lol). Much better than Apple's garbage earphones to be sure, but...that's not exactly setting much of a high bar, more of about the waist height bar used in the high jump in Nichijou (with the Apple earbuds going Mio and either going under the bar, ramming into it, or shooting parallel to it).

 

AIso, isn't a flat sound supposed to be good? Or...

I guess moderate flatness may be not so bad for some people but clear lack of bass can be quite dissapointing. Of course a lot of them can give you a headache(like both of my Koss), so I hope to find earphones with a good overall balance, where a little tuning with equalizer can make them suitable for a wide range of music genres. Maybe I'm hoping for too much for earphones under 50$, but with so much different models available the probability finding the right one is quite high.

Just received sennheiser cx-300 II. Nice sound, though felt a bit too heavy on bass at the beginning. Can't say that sony xba-1 are bad, everything depends on the genre of music. Thank you guys for nice tips.

When buying headphones, make sure they look as tough as bricks. The only way to be sure they won't break on the first week after you gently put them away.

I'm no Hulk but I understand what you mean. Nowadays everything is made too flimsy, be it vacuum cleaners, phones or even cars (I managed to brake clutch's mount, which is supposed to be made out of metal ). Wired earphones are even more vulnerable, so I try to be extra careful.

I had one headset that was just a tank, and I had it for 7 months (record), I also had kittens as the time, furballs of doom. They shreded the wire... Couldn't be mad at them, but I did cry for those 100 euros.

Also, my dad fucked up a 100 euro mouse -.- The thing was built like a brick but he's a bloody mountain -.- He treated it like a cheap replacement....

In my case it is even harder. I used to live separately for quite a long time so living in the same house again is quite awkward.
