I have some random theory to share

first of all about the promise girl, I think Onodera and Chitoge still have 50 : 50 chance, but why?

Chitoge's point : well, you know she was the main female protagonist and the author on her side obviously

Onodera's point : the only girl who have a chance to stand against Chitoge

1. Her key is the one which very similar with the promise girl (even though it just a silhouette and changes every chapter I read)

2. Yui did not mention her name early in the class when first time she came (she mentioned kirisaki, marika, tsugumi and even shu), she just gave her a glance and smile (I sense a smell of inferiority)

3. In Yui's perspective Raku is dating Chitoge and have feeling towards her, her statement about "When you know about the promise girl, do you still able to love her?" maybe means that promise girl was not Chitoge.

 

Why not Yui? Because Raku fully aware that she was his precious big sis when he was a kid, I don't think he would makes 'lets married' promise with a big sis

 

Why not Marika? despite who is the promise girl, I still hope Raku will choose her but I don't think she was the promise girl because it looks like she 'remembered' but pretend to 'forgot'. I don't see any reason she pretend to forgot if she was the promise girl.

 

despite of that bunch of random thought, there is still a big chance that Yui's key is not a real one and the author still have 1 last key holder to show.

this manga (maybe) has 3 years arc afterall and we even have not finish the 2nd year, so there's still a big chance this last theory to be true.

I get the feeling that the real key holder will be a nobody. 

 

I always did think it would Chitoge since they have been growing as a "couple" since chapter 1. Then when it was mentioned that the key holder had blue/brown eyes (cant remember) and that Chitoge had the other color, but then her father revealed she actually did have the correct color as a kid, it solidified her for me.

 

But like you quoted, when Yui talked about the promise girl and will he still be able to love her, it basically confirmed that it was not Chitoge, unless she was just trying to trick Raku, which I doubt, I think if  Chitoge was the promised girl and when Yui came and found out that Raku and her were dating, she would have made a mention about how he stuck to his word and stayed with the promise girl or something.

 

But as much as I think the real holder will be some new character not yet introduced or some character that is dead or is lesbian or something where Raku can not actually be with her, in the back of my head I get this feeling that the answer has already been revealed....

 

Remember on the way to Chitoges first b-day where Raku and Onodera were walking and he asked if she was the key holder and she said yes. I feel like even though more keys were introduced, she actually is the legit holder and this has just been a slow burn from the writer...I hope I am wrong though, Onodera is my least favorite girl.

I know this manga is categorize as a harem and all but the plot getting boring to me. You stories ain't gonna progress if you only kept adding new girls to it. Seriously i am done with this piece, to the other fans, no need to crucify me, just stating my opinion. They will kept dragging the stories as long as the rating is high and when its down, the author will end it within 5 or 3 chapters. So..good luck with that.

My theory is that neither keys can be used individually. Maybe the real key is single key, which is the combination of all keys...

So basically my theory is pointing that the girls loved Raku when they still young, and I mean all of them, and to make it a "good" Rivalry they made them selves a some short of composite key which can be reassembled into many or one real key...

This theory also leading to point that the girl which Raku choose ( ...should he really do... ) must also be acknowledged by the others and be given their key as proof that there will be no hard feelings between them (... but definitely among the fans...)

 

And my theory also have an open ending condition which is beneficial for the mangaka should he hasn't choose any specific girl as Raku's one and only...

Oh god for a second their I thought you meant that this manga had 3 more years left lol, I nearly killed myself. But yeah this will probably end at highschool graduation since Raku and Chitoge are supposed to be in their "fake" relationship until they finish high school.
