ill keep it short, i LOVE Terra Formars mostly because im a bug lover and because the art is soooo good! But it kinda bothers me that there are so few important female characters since most of them get killed as soon as they engage in combat with a damn terraformer! Aside from the awesome and badass Michelle, ive seen a bunch of cool women that were promesing BUT they were killed almost as soon as they were meant to fight! Its true, men get killed often too but it happens so fast(for minor characters) and they didnt even get to talk so i didnt care much. On the other hand, girls get killed so easily and cant even withstand a punch from a terraformer but men can get beaten with a damn club more than 10 times and stay almost intact or at least capable of fighting.

Thats one thing that bothers me, the other is: is there a point to knowing the size of the female characters boobs on their bios? (dont get me wrong, i love boobs!) but dont you guys think its kinda childish to put that kind of stuff right after writing important info on the character?

Example: Michelle K. Davis
(insert all important info here) . E cup, but somewhat firm. ( lol wut?)

Ps: i know most of you dont remember hersince she wasnt important (like 95% of the women in this series)  but im so sad that Isabella R. Leon(the Sia Ferox, grasshopper tomboy) was killed by a single punch from a stupid terraformer oh and btw shes a D cup.

I don't think it's sexist at all. Yeah the women had boobs but the men were also showing off their biceps and abs. And bad things happen to both genders.

Isn't it just logically that there appear to be more women dying due to the fact that there are less women whatsoever? I mean, for example, in a group of 20 people and there are 5 Women, if one of them dies it is much more important then if a men would die. The Crews have some important female members, the lastly introduced bacteria typ from the Chinese, Michelle K. Davis (who is also number 5 in the M.A.R.S. Ranking, which is impressiv), Sheila Levitt was kind of important... there are some interesting and important females. However I think that the information about the cup size of any female is really not needed at all. The Author probably wants to attract some of the male audience with this and I believe that you won't find any Manga without some kind of fanservice.

I feel like the author loves killing off the guys' love interests instead. Look how all of their precious women die. (E.g Akari's childhood friend, Komachi's childhood friend and Sheila Levitt). Maybe he just hates love, or sth like that. =P Just a feeling though.

It's not. Dozens of manga are very polarized in the gender they feature. A lot of manga feature mostly or even only female characters. This one happens to be mostly guys.

Measurements are a typical thing in Japanese character profiles.

Women are usually matched up against special Terraformers, The only reason males that die last longer than females who die is that males usually hang in groups when they get their asses handed to them. The only exceptions are high-rankers.

Even if your observations were taken at face value, so what? Doesn't make the manga sexist.

Actually women are being specifically targeted for elimination by roaches.

Now i don't wanna go as far as saying that the mangaka enjoys killing them off for some kind of fetish (though at the beginning i tought so), but just like in Berserk violence against women is particularly common, the same happens in Terraformars.

Even so, I don't suspect that the author is trying to make some kind of misogynistic statement, after all it completely makes sense for roaches to kill women first as well as the injured or armed, since they are hell-bent on total annhilation of the human race and women are absolutely fundamental to our species propagation much more than men.

Yet compared to this, the concern towards breast size and consequent allegations of sexism sound kinda naive; women are continuously objectified in manga/anime as in other kind of media and japanese have a real habit of doing so but i don't find Terraformars doing this more remarkably than any other title.

I mean, if this anime manga is being sexist how do you justify fan-service existance at all? And there's plenty of that in more popular works, like Fairy Tail, but next to none in Terraformars.

Probably you are just reading too much into it, the whole "boobs notation" is just some kinda inside joke for comic-relief purpose in my mind.

You shouldn't overthink things, or else you will end up turning into a social justice retard. They aren't real so it doesn't matter if they die from a common flu. They go and get killed, not like those USA movies where the good guys can dodge bullets and the bad guys are terrible at shooting.

it's probably because you're somewhat focused on woman. in this manga, women are minority, and everywhere in this world just love giving attention to minorities. and you said you love boobs, every men does. but that hint concludes your concern: you want more boobs in this manga instead of decreasing in number. hell they are already too few to begin with, and their number drops with every chapter. deep in our hearts we want cute things, but this manga does not need one. this one is heavily focused on survival battle and any cute things would ruin the mood. (small jokes are sufficient enough to crack a good laugh here, overly done would bear heavy criticism).

but yeah i was kinda disappointed when that childhood friend of marcos and alex got a hole in her chest. and the sia ferox, since my country was mentioned.

The author has some kind of guro fetish, making a woman regrow out of her own boob? It could have been any part of the body and it could have been shown way less grotesque. And whenever a woman dies it's usually flashy and has a lot of attention to detail put in it.
