So I wanted to know some reasons why people pick the girl they did (or ranking if your not picky) and WHY they deserve to be in that ranking. (More may be added later cause I cant think of them all...they come in small bursts of information and opinions). I will also make like a 1 sentence comment on their possible relationship if they end up together

My ranking isnt based on the characters cuteness or attractiveness but rather their worthiness of Raku. You can argue all you want if Raku deserves them or not but what I'm thinking of is the relationship between them and the amount of effort to try getting there.

#1 Kosaki Onodera- This one i believe does have a bit of biased but basically its because its i feel she tries very hard to make Raku happy and comfortable as possible while not trying to ruin what they already have as friends which is probably another reason (besides shyness) why she wont tell Raku her feelings. My bias comes into the fact that its EVERYONE'S dream scenario for a crush to like them back the same way with Raku and Onodera do. I can see them very happy, loving, and supporting of each other in every way.

#2 Yui- Our most resent addition but I found her INSTANTLY likeable and she shows a great love for Raku but not so much she forces himself on her like Tachibana. She wants to make Raku comfortable yet also tease him alot like the older sister character dispite her loving him more than that. Sadly I dont see Raku picking her because of this fact but I really like Yui. Their relationship I can see as her being still teasing Raku but raku kinda following the flow along with trying to match her level of affection.

#3 Tachibana- She was #2 before Yui swooped in but still very close and can change on an instant. She obviously deeply loves Raku, enough so to be the only one who remembers the promise (if not exactly all of it) and wants him more than anyone and goes on the offensive. Shes aggressive and also very in touch with her emotions of embarassement. Also whats the mystery of her sickness? Will she die soon or later in life it will kill her? Honestly it wouldnt feel very natural Tachibana will obviously be very happy but i feel Raku would always feel inferior becuase he might never be able to love her the way she loves him.

#4 Tsugumi- She fell in love with Raku and doesnt really understand it. I feel there should be a part where she's torn between her loyalty to Chitoge and her (maybe realized) love for Raku. She is the most natural reaction to these romantic occassions with Raku which I feel makes it very sweet. I dont know how they would look as a couple maybe very normal.

#5 Haru Onodera- she doesnt know she loves Raku but once she realizes and probably overcomes her shock would be much like her sister. or maybe she will seld sacrifice her feelings and let her sister have Raku. relationship would be very awkward simply due to age difference and the fact that I dont think Raku will ever gain feelings for her.

#6->Infinite - Any other girl

#Last Chitoge- Shes cute, beautiful and blonde. But overall the least deserving of Raku in my opinion. Not only was she literally DEAD LAST in the one to develop feelings for Raku but she had to have it handed to her on a silver platter by their parents. EVEN THEN it didnt take until EVERY SINGLE other girl already grew feelings for Raku that she finally grew feelings. And they are by far the weakest, if she loved Raku then the forced faking of the relationship should have stopped being so robotic and more natural, at least from her side. I mean her BODYGUARD loved Raku before her AND has obviously stronger feelings simply due to how badly she reacts to their little moments (though some may be put in her inexperience with it, but if i remember chitoge has equally as much as her). I honestly cant even picture them in a relationship together. Also in the latest Chapter 121 when he said "As far as Yui knows Chitoge is my girlfriend" but in context it looked like he was thinking "Crap, she thinks i have feelings for her". He didnt even hesistate to consider if she is which to me means he holds no possible feelings for her (to which i hope he never does)

So as you can see I have an extreme biased AGAINST Chitoge. and as this point its getting very hard to pick a girl when before i was all for #TeamKosaki but now I have converted to #TeamNOTChitoge.

Preface:  I have no particular bias and I find each character likeable.

  1. Chitoge - Has, by far, the most memories with the MC.  Raku shares a similar background, therefore they can understand each other better than most.  He doesn't hesitate for a single moment when she needs him.  They're not afraid to disagree or fight but they always prefer to be on good terms.  Has difficulty expressing her feelings but will sometimes fight for Raku if someone gets close to him.  Overall the most interesting relationship.  Undeserving?  Sure, but that's life.  Going into this anime I didn't think much of her but she's grown a lot on me.  Out of all the heroines Raku would miss her the most if she left.
  2. Kosaki - Is the least assertive.  Arguably the most attractive heroine, but fails to express herself every single time!  She doesn't seek development on her own and even with help she doesn't get very far.  MC is obviously very interested but he doesn't take much initiative with her either.  Their conversations tend to be light and warm but after all this time they still don't actually know all that much about each other.  Sorry Onodera fans, I really do like her a lot but from personal experience I know wishful thinking isn't going to get this relationship anywhere at all.
  3. Marika - Most aggressive.  I actually like this character as she's not afraid to use anything to her advantage.  However her bite doesn't always match her bark and she hasn't done much to truly sway Raku's heart.
  4. Haru - Gets along very well with MC.  Internal conflict between her own feelings and her feelings for Kosaki prevent much from happening.  It could work but her "ties" with Raku aren't nearly as strong as any of the others.
  5. Tsugumi - Has had some good experiences with MC but nothing ever comes from it.  She's quick to put Chitoge before herself therefore I don't see this one happening anytime soon.

I'm going to withhold judgment on Yui for now.  She's shown that she can be aggressive but I need to see more interaction.

helping Chitoge is only because shes the only one whose gotten in situations where she needs saving. name another time where Raku has to save anyone else other than her? The closest thing you can say is maybe Tsugumi during their first encounters but that doesnt count too much. Raku is just the kind of character who would drop everything to help anyone and probably values all the girls equally. Replace Chitoge with anyone else he would have still done the same. As for a background a gang family is a pretty weak background as its not very strong. replace the gang with just a bunch of maids/butlers the family aspect of them is still very much the same. And you can argue every character is part of some type of family like that rather than Onodera (though idk why but since we don't know about the father maybe they are....unless i missed something). Most actractive is simply a matter of personal tastes BUT i think its easily changed by her hair color and the fact shes blonde.

I say once the fake relationship gets dropped alot of things will change because Raku wouldnt have to hide the fact he likes Kosaki any more and might finally say it. Not to mention all the girls will probably start trying to win over Rakus affection rather just teasing and trying to play favorites.

1) Chitoge: This is a girl we have seen since the start grow with Raku. She went from hating everything single thing he did, to actually having a normal relationship type feel with him. They fight a bit and stuff, but at the end of the day their relationship (fake as it may be) is as strong as ever and is always growing. Raku is just too damn slow to realize it.

2) Tachibana: She goes all out for her love for Raku. Every though it seems like a far shot right now, with the constant love gestures always coming from her, one of them has the potential to hit the spot. If her key turns out to be correct, that could easily be the final straw needed for him to actually fall for her.

3) Yui: Newest girl, but always seems to have a combo of all the girls added into her. Living with Raku gives her the best chance of catching up fast, especially after chapter 121 where he didnt run away from her in the bed. The only problem is that their relationship is built as brother sister, so to change that will be hard.

4-9000) All the other girls: Girls like Haru and Tsugumi don't stand a chance. Raku does not even see them in that way. You see how he can call them cute and what not with no problems at all. Easier chance for his buddy to date Tsugumi before Raku even thinks about dating them.

Last) Kosaki: While right now she has by far the best chance since both her and Raku like each other greatly, this relationship will never bloom. They have the hardest time talking to each other and it is damn near impossible for them to talk to each other while alone and not have a distraction of school or cooking.  Even if they both admitted to each other they liked each other and agreed to start dating, it would involve nothing but cute moments of them being extremely shy to the point of Kosaki passing out. Holding hands was extremely hard for them to do with each other way back when they were playing a game, to hug, to kiss, to hold hands in public with others around, that would down right impossible to happen, unless one of them goes through a HUGE character change. Right now, I don't see that happening.

The Hate, The Hate everywhere

1- Haru- She is the little sister that has a crush on the main character and cannot declare her love because there is a barrier preventing it

2- Yui- She is just asgfasgasgsa

3- Onodera- The main protagonist has a crush on her, and even if she is not good on cooking, she would be a great wife and really easy person to understand

4- Tachibana-  She is a Troll, THE BEST FEMALE TROLL

5- Chitoge- I like her as a character, she is tsundere, and really cute when you get to know her.

6- Tsumugi- I like her still but the other 5 still beat her, but I would still marry her if I had the chance.

1) Yui - She is the only person to actually point out that his whole childhood promise is complete BS, and shouldn't matter at all in who he loves. Not to    mention how funny she is, how she actually understands the others. Though she's my new favorite, I doubt she'll end up with raku, considering how she hasn't been there long enough to show much development. (TIED with Chitoge)

1) Chitoge - She is the character that we have seen go through the most change. If you watch her between chapters, she grew to care about raku, and has finally begun to admit her feelings to herself. Plus, I find it nice how comfortable they are with each other (gorilla and bean sprout). She is definitely the one I want to end up with raku.

3) Onodera - Onodera is definitely one of the cutest characters. I love how similar she and Raku are, but she just doesn't really make much of an influence on raku's development, other than his infatuation with her. I wouldn't mind her ending up with raku, but I feel like it'd be missing something

4) Tsugumi - Simply amazing, and cares about chitoge as well as raku.

5) Haru - Though I don't want her to end up with Raku, I find her to be adorable.

6) Marika - She has her good moments, and is pretty funny, but I really don't like her. She declared her love for him without having even met him in 10 years, is super aggressive, despite him having a GF (or so she thinks), and most of all, is super obsessive (to the point of have no planned future other than him). Though i like her as a character, and find her funny, she isn't the one i think raku should be with.

Ruri: she's not part of this, though i find her to be hilarious and amazing. I think she shouldn't be with Raku at all; rather, she'd go a lot better with Shuu

Shuu: the best character in history

This is a list of the girls based on what they've contributed to the manga so far in terms of identity or enjoyability, not how likely they are to hook up with Raku. Just because it's a harem series is no excuse for bland eye candy characters and bad writing, IMO.

1. Tachibana Marika. Yeah, she's the pushy type, but on the other hand, she's the straightforward type. Every other girl is either too embarrassed or too... something else (looking at you, Yui) to just come out and lay their emotions bare. In comes Marika and proclaims her feelings for Raku loudly and proudly. The sheer contrast when compared to Every. Single. Other. Girl. in the manga is enough to make her stand out among the cast. Also, she may or may not have a severe, perhaps even terminal, medical condition. That creates character depth, something most every other girl in the series is severely lacking. Plus, jokes involving her tend to be more varied than the rest of them.

2. Onodera Haru. Showed up late for the party, had more development in ten chapters than her sister had in a hundred. Correction, she had development, she wins by default there. Also, there's the dilemma of basically supporting her sister or pursuing her own happiness, perhaps the best handled bit of conflict in the entire series thus far.

3. Kirisaki Chitoge. The basis of her relationship with Raku is essentially that opposites attract. Whether you like her violent antics or not, there's at least a little story arc in their relationship developing from mutual hatred to grudging friendship to something more genuine.

4. Kanakura Yui. The new entrant, and foil to Marika. They can both be fairly crafty about their methods, but the difference lies in their overall honesty. While Marika doesn't lie about her end goals, Yui will only openly reveal them to her rivals for reasons left unclear thus far. You know, because this series really needed more girls to be "secretly" in love with Raku... In her defense, she's moving the plot away from the key aspect, but to be fair I stopped caring about that long before she showed up.

5. Tsugumi Seishirou. The fanservice character. She exists to look cute when she gets flustered (read; whenever she's around Raku (read; all her panel time)) and be a target of big boob jokes. At least with her there's the potential story focus of having feelings for her best friend's boyfriend, but the inherent conflict has barely been mentioned in at least a year now.

6. Onodera Kosaki. You know this character, the cute, shy girl our protagonist has a crush on so all these other girls entering his life don't instantly win his affection because she's his one true love he's never talked to in his entire life before the events of the series (okay, he has, but it hardly counts if that also holds true for most other girls and he has no clear memory of it). And naturally she feels the same way about him, but is too embarrassed or afraid of being rejected or whatever to even talk to him properly. Every time these two as much as look at each other their hormones kick in and they both turn beet red instantly. Her gimmick is to be the default object of the protagonist's (and by extension, the reader's) desires and leave the more complicated matters like character development or plot progression to the others. Frankly, she could be written out of the story and nothing of value would be lost plotwise.

As far as Ruri goes, she's alright I guess. It's the banter between her and Shuu that really matters, as otherwise she's wasting her time trying to move the immovable object that is the Onodera ship.

Easy:

  1. Main heroine: Chitoge
  2. Mutual love: Kosaki
  3. Love points: Marika
  4. Not Key girl: Tsugumi
  5. Onegai Sensei: Yui
  6. Notice me, Senpai!: Haru
  7. not-love interest: Ruri

Ranked also based on how close they're towards winning the Rakubowl. Even though Marika is trailing in third place. But she is more than 50 points behind from both Chitoge (Main heroine) and Kosaki (mutual love interest). Let alone Tsugumi and the rest.

Even though Marika's cold strategy chapter did stole my heart

1. Onodera: Too nice of a girl, puts others above her own feelings, downside: a bit too shy that hinders progress. Still if none of the characters didnt show up, pretty much guaranteed to have paired up with Raku, mutual understanding interaction with each other make them a great pair

2.Yui/Marika: First off Yui, likable character but stuck at the cast of being treated as a family member. Marika, too aggressive in my opinion, but her devotion is admirable, which is the reason why Raku is able to hold off her advances/basically got too used to it. Yui and Marika have been the ones that have been in love with Raku to longest.and hopefully would like to see their efforts rewarded

4.Haru/Tsugumi: Haru, caught between devotion to sister and her own desire. Though initially came off as unpleasant, begins to interact with Raku and eventually falls in love with him because of his character. In addition when she realises her love interest is in love with someone else, she actually decides to support them. Makes her a great character Tsugumi, similar situation, however its devotion to Chitoge that inhibits progress. Her love is in a way extremely naive/ basically fell in love with Raku cause he is the one that first complemented her, so not easily justified. In a way is friendzoned, probably isnt seen as a potential love interest by Raku.

Last: Chitoge: Chitoge basically just comes off as unpleasant to me, her interaction in the early chapters with Raku doesnt make her a likable person. When she begins to notice her feelings for Raku, she had to make such a huge fit at the play arc, really shows how great her character is when she has been treating Raku like dirt. Basically unappreciative. In a way she is unfair, would rather use their fake relationship to her advantage, even when their are more honest characters that are pursuing Raku (Marika/Yui), where the more honorable thing to do would be to break up their false relationship and then continue to pursue Raku more honestly.

1. Marika - Marika's love for Raku is very strong and earnest. She's confident and not afraid to show the world what she is made of. Of all the characters, I believe that she has the most depth. Despite all her gags, she does have a gentle side to her, like here, herehere. This scene shows how strong her willpower is. She's resisting the drug that caught everyone in a moment.

Of all the Marika scenes, this one gets to me the most. She is conniving enough to get anything she wants, but she decided to win Raku fair and square (unlike a certain someone). This scene speaks so much about her love for Raku.

2. Onodera - She's very cute. A girl with a gentle and kind personality.  She's perfect for Raku. I only wish she was a little more brave.

3. Tsugumi - Adorable. She is skilled in all areas, and has no drawbacks. I am very sad to see that her current position and upbringing has severely limited her chances to advance with Raku. It's sad to see herself conflict over her feelings, it's almost like a star crossed love. By the way it seems, she has zero chance, when she's the one with the most talents. There is nothing unappealing about her.

4. Haru - I'm very happy to see Haru's character development. Despite the rocky start, she's a very selfless character. I hope that she will be happy in the future.

Unranked: Yui - There have not been enough chapters for me to evaluate her on a good level. She's cute and funny, however. I like her mysteriousness and straightforward attitude.

Unranked: Ruri - I love Ruri. She's really funny, and caring girl. Her wingman moments are the best. I unranked her because I can't compare her with the rest of the girls, as I'd like her to be with Shuu. If we considered this ranking as a "how much you love the characters", I think she'd be 3rd or 4th.

Above Chitoge: Paula - Meh. She's okay. I find her too childish.

Above Chitoge: Maruusha - We are on chapter 136 (as of this writing), and I even like her more than Chitoge.

Last: Chitoge - She is unredeemable to me. It took her 51 chapters to stop being a brat. She gets jealous when Raku interacts with other girls, though he is not truly hers. I find it extremely unpleasant that she physically abuses him on account of her anger, even for events that were not his fault. There would be almost no reasonable man who would be able to put up with that. As Pootishere has said, she doesn't play fair. Every other girl tries honestly in the ways that they can, but she likes to try and reel him through their fake relationship. There was no reason for her to be as rough to him as she was. I understand Haru's actions because she's only looking out for her sister (although she's a little bit quick to jump to conclusions), and Tsugumi because she is Chitoge's body guard, of course she would be angry to see Chitoge's "boyfriend" "cheat" on her.

------

Anyone but Chitoge.

Funny thing about harem series is the best girl almost never wins. And in this case, I'm more than happy knowing Nisekoi's best likely won't end up with Raku. Why? Read on.

  1. Tachibana Marika: Our glorious lord, saviour, master, and champion of the world. Also, clear best girl. Her blunt earnesty was a little annoying at first, but once she made her way into the cast proper, she stood out from everyone's constant monologuing, and her antics became flat-out endearing. She won't win, as the way the story has been rolling, Chitoge is being set on the throne, but she doesn't need to. She's won the hearts of many readers.
  2. Onodera Kosaki: My rankings after Lord Marika are almost non-existent, because no one else really matters. But, if I have to come down to it, Kosaki's charm and "d'awww" moments do tend to stand out above the rest of the cast, even her little sister. She can be frustrating, though, in her totally passive approach to romance. Currently my guess as to whose photo is inside the pendant.
  3. Onodera Haru: Basically an angrier Kosaki, and I have no problem with that. She tends to be less about charm and more about personality, but she's too indecisive and wishy-washy.
  4. Kanakura Yui: Essentially the story-advancement addition to the harem, when she's with Marika I can always expect good times simply for the way the author has developed the backgrounds for the two of them. Mostly filling the "adult-aged onee-san" gap, I'm relatively neutral towards her.
  5. Kirisaki Chitoge: Not quite the worst girl in my books, but she's lost a lot of her initial luster as the cast has expanded. Her tsun moments keep her above Tsugumi simply because they have the occasional adorable charm, but mostly she's too much of a grey character to really rate her higher. Despite my saying earlier that Kosaki is the one in the pendant, Chitoge's going to win anyways because that seems to be the direction the story's going.
  6. Tsugumi Seishirou: There was a time when she was a decent character, but that was when the cast was still just Chitoge and Kosaki. Now that we have more girls within the harem, Tsugumi is by and large overshadowed by everyone else, and nothing makes this more evident than the blatant lack of appearances she's made within the manga in recent chapters. As much as I'd like her to be above Chitoge within the rankings, as long as the author continues to push Chitoge's story appearances harder and Tsugumi's continued non-existence, she remains as the worst. The only advantage is that there's nowhere to go but up, and there isn't much within my rankings to separate the 3 slot from the 6.
