It's pretty obvious now that people don't read/don't care about new rules. Just look at Kingdom comment section (the very definition of walls of text) or Noblesse (comment section there should be called "spoiler section"). Instead of debating about how many lines are considered walls of text, we should try to inform people in more visible manner than just announcement on forum.

That's the place to report people breaking those particular rules. Though, just from what I've seen, and it's not that I'm actually looking for them anyway,  these are isolated instances you're talking about, most people are indeed using spoiler tags on at least the long posts and images in the comments sections.

I reported the few that appeared to be obviously over the max on that Kingdom one, and as far as the Noblesse stuff...........well, the chapter's been released now so I really don't know what to do. Though I'm sure you're right and there were spoilers in the comments this morning, I personally stayed away from there for just that reason..........heck, there were spoilers in the current chapter discussion forum thread, I guess from looking at the raws or reading the Mangacow version which came out an hour or so after the Naver chapter.  >_<

Aaah you should see the comment section of a manga you know all too well svine ;) wall of text on really technical issues on a very specific topic that wouldnt be outplaced in a sport dedicated forum -let alone in a manga forum- and i also got abused a couple of times but i just love the way it is and wouldnt dream to see it anywhere else. Why? because the discussion was originated there and it is just following its natural course.

there we go   :)

You know, I'm just going to suggest that you/everyone don't look at this as some sort of game. Batoto has gone way out of their way to stress how strongly they feel about these rules and having people follow them...........thinking this is a game or "funny" when people don't follow the rules is liable to have this thing blow up in all our faces.

Here, just a little example........Batoto/staff can and will lock stuff up if people won't quit fucking around.

But that's just my opinion as a member, nothing more.

No changes concerning the Images? It's so awful to put small gifs in spoiler tags... For example, I want to express my feelings about certain page through a gif. All my post would be spoilered, be it two or one spoiler tag. Simply awful.

like how? pm each time someone broken a rule? Lol, I wonder ... if you guys are a mod would you do that? Would you ignore

those 10+ line comments. Let people spam the c.s. with images? How far can you guys deal with those kind of situation ?

But guys, the comment section is in progess. We mods , are starting to give out warning/warning points to those who break any rules.

I have like to tell everyone here at batoto, that our comment system is very unique. Giving members to quote and post images.

If you have look at other reader sites, is their comment system the same as ours?

If you compare our c.s with naver, do you see any difference? Cause I see many difference.

The comment system is an privilege to all members. We could take it away if it doesnt seem to work.

[snip]

No, im not joking nor playing nor messing with anyone. I am reading with borrowed time, i used to read on manga aggregators (OneManga being the most famous among them) that could disappear without notice, so no i dont want to piss anyone off.

And i am sure you noticed im doing my best to comply to the new house rules. IN fact, be it the new chapters not involving me much, be it the new rules, im not writing that much anymore.

I just wanted to point out what kind of spontaneous usage this tool has. Which is my point, to be frank: i think this is the proper and fair use of the comment section, because i am convnced that if the comment section werent there, those discussion would have never took place; and i am also pretty convinced that putting stuff in spoiler tags disrupts the flow of the rant. From my very biasded point of view, a 10+ liner comment is worth more than a 100 one liners made of wow's, thank's, lol's and didnt see that coming's. There's effort, involvement, passion, sometimes competence: spoiler tags are a sort of cockblock if you ask me.

but i already expressed this point over and over so, long story short, im not playing.

Thanks you for your feedback everyone. A lot of input - whether posted here, via PM or IRC has been considered and modifications/clarificiations to the Guidelines have been made. The Comments Section Guidelines you see, however, will change - depending on future changes to the site, Feedback received, etc. Mainly based on Feedback received.

I'd like to apologize that I was not exactly able to achieve a rule-set/draft where everyone (especially people who posted here) was happy. However, I am contented knowing this was the closest we could get to a compromise between What Staff Wanted and What Posters Wanted, which was somewhat the objective of this thread. So I'm happy that this objective was, at the very least, achieved.

If you feel that the Guidelines could be improved in any way: Whether wording, clarifications, etc. Please make a thread in the Suggestions Forum. Your input and feedback, no matter how small, will be considered. Batoto is a Happy Community - Run by a Grumpy person, kind of ironical, really - and it's because of people like you that we can achieve this. So on that happy note, I hope the Guidelines will work well for many years to come.

For any further comments on Comments Guidelines, please post in the Suggestions Forums. I look forward to reading your suggestions there.
