I have these four anime in my possesion, and I can't decide which to watch first. So I'm giving you, random people of the Internet, a chance to decide for me.

Here are summaries and descriptions taken from TV Trops & idioms.

Feel free to drop your comments and opinions on the animes if you've seen them.

NO SPOILERS!!

Ergo Proxy

This 23 episode sci-fi anime from  Manglobe  is set in a  ravaged, blasted futur e  where humans have confined themselves to domed cities in order to survive. Ergo Proxy is the story of an amnesiac immigrant named Vincent Law and the intelligence operative Re-l Mayer, as they are caught up in the tangled web of secrets surrounding the city of Romdeau and the truth behind the chaos. Central to all of this is the nature of the utopia of Romdeau and the powerful, mysterious monsters known as Proxies.

Ergo Proxy is notable for its beautiful animation as well as its love of Mind Screw. It contains elements of Post-Cyberpunk, steampunk, and Film Noir; and draws motifs from advanced psychology and philosophy.

Kill  la Kill

Ryuko Matoi is a New Transfer Student at Honnouji Academy, a high school ruled with an iron fist by president Satsuki Kiryuin and her Absurdly Powerful Student Council. Satsuki maintains absolute control over the school using Goku Uniforms, which grant supernatural strength to their wearer and are distributed only to her most loyal students.

When Ryuko shows up in search of her father's murderer, she immediately suspects that Satsuki knows something and declares war on her. With the aid of a sentient uniform called Senketsu and a red half-scissor blade that can destroy Goku Uniforms, Ryuko fights to avenge her father and take down Honnouji Academy in the process.

Serial Experiments Lain

An erudite, confusing, and chilling anime from the late 1990s, Serial Experiments Lain is Creepy Awesome seinen cyberpunk, as well as a notable Mind Screw in the genre. Shōnen has Neon Genesis Evangelion, shojo has Revolutionary Girl Utena, and seinen has Lain. The show takes an information-rich dive deep into the nature of reality and truth, and in the process leads the viewer to come to his or her own conclusions about the meaning of the show, the meaning of reality, and even what actually happens in both.

Speed Grapther

It starts when the cynical and jaded Intrepid Reporter Tatsumi Saiga is sent to investigate a fetish club for the richest in Japan, whose "goddess" is a teenager named Kagura. She's an odd, waifish young girl with the power to give people super-powers coming from their desires, obsessions and fetishes; when she kisses Saiga during their first encounter, she grants him the power to destroy anything he takes a photo of, related to the sexual pleasure he gets from photographing something really interesting. His curiosity piqued, Saiga decides to learn more about Kagura and her powers, then vows to free her from the Roppongi Club and the Tennouzu corrupt group (whose head is Kagura's ruthless mother, Shinzen) that cruelly uses the girl for their own purposes...

Texhnolyze

In the not-too-distant future, deep underground, descendants of a banished generation vie for control of the crumbling city of Lux. Ichise, an orphan turned prize fighter, loses an arm and a leg to satisfy an enraged promoter. On the brink of death, he is taken in by a young female doctor and used as a guinea pig for the next evolution of texhnolyze.

Having adjusted to his new limbs, Ichise is eventually taken under the wing of Onishi, the powerful but distrusted leader of Organo, a criminal organization with some hold over the people of Lux. Meanwhile, four different factions begin to draw battlelines for territorial control of the city: the aforementioned Organo; the Union, a fiercely anti-texhnolyze faction; the Racan, a group of rebellious texhnolyzed youths; and the Class, a mysterious group of privileged beings who lurk behind the city. As Ichise is unwillingly drawn deeper into an uncontrollable war, he learns of his possible future from the prophet girl Ran, who guides him from the shadows in his darkest times. When society comes crashing down, Ichise must uncover the truth about Lux and fight for his survival.

Made by the same team that produced Serial Experiments Lain, Texhnolyze is often considered to be one of the strangest and darkest anime ever made.

Ah, I should comment on my vote too...

Ergo Proxy:

Brief opinion about episodes inside that I think is spoiler free:

Spoiler

Kill la kill:

Haven't watched it, but from what I've heard/read/seen, it's pretty interesting.

Serial Experiments Lain:

Classic that I attempted to watch when I wasn't in the mood for psychological stuff and put it on indefinite on-hold because of that. >.>

Personal note: should go back to it sometime.

Speed Grapher:

Pretty nice. Duran Duran's song for the opening. Been ages though and I don't remember that much... some unnecessary stalling around the middle maybe?

Texhnolyze:

On my TOP5 anime list (actually, make it TOP3). Amazing portrayal of dystopian society. I think the description you posted is rather spoilerish, but then again it doesn't really reveal that much. You shouldn't be disappointed with it. Not sure if the best material for anime marathons - peronally I think it's best to watch it in smaller chunks to let the story sink into you.

Kill la Kill would have been way more amazing without the Yuri. -_- Also, Speed Grapher only has that intro song if you watch the non-dubbed version, which sucks because the Dub is pretty good.

Yeah :P That's because I'm very picky with what I watch, so I tend to scour and dig for ones that stand out or are hiding and waiting to take over the world slowly.

That's how I had to watch Wolf's Rain. It's simply that kind of an anime, the mood and the atmosphere, it suffocates you and yet you like it.

Also, Serial Experiments Lain was made by  the same people that made Texhnolyze.

Kill La Kill is seriously amazing and out of the roof :D

Spoiler

I also suggest No Game No Life (atm it is ranked number 18 on MyAnimeList and its epic)

S.E. Lain: I always hear how good that is, but unfortunately, like all psychological series, it starts slow and that's why people usually dont manage to stick through first few episodes.

Ergo Proxy: start was epic, but then there is a change in story and quality goes down. Still worth watching.

I am supposed to watch Kill la Kill with a friend, but he never has time or is away for 1-2 months -.- I feel like I'll have to continue from Episode 8 on my own :(

I am currently watching No Game No Life, episode where Blank meets the beasts in the Embassy Tower for the first time. Waiting for the house to clear a bit so I don't get strange looks because of fanservice.

S.E. Lain I can't start watching, something always comes up :P

And I finished Ergo Proxy (one of the few animes who's subtitles work on the giant ass TV, everything else has to be seen on the PC), and I agree, it started strong, with great potential, but then Jeopardy and Smileland kind of wronged the anime. Other than that, ending episodes were fine, if there just weren't those two.
