Hi, Umi no MIsaki chapters 113 through 122 were done by a speed scanner. I've started releasing medium quality updates, so I'd like to deactivate or archive the older LQ speed scans. Is there anyway I can get edit rights on these releases from the other scanalator?

I am sorry. Contributors can only edit/"delete" their own uploads.
Regarding poor quality works of other groups' releases, batoto will not delete other groups' releases. As it will be unfair to just host the better one.
We respect all scanlations' releases/policy. Unless the group specify they dont want the release to be hosted . It stays hosted here.
Even if one group is releasing the same rate as the other group, it is allow. Any problem with other group's interference (such as stealing works, and
qualities, watermarks), should be deal with the group's perspective member (admins) first. We dont deal with them unless it is really needed.

Of course Batoto doesn't want to get involved in spats between scanalators. However, it's a little different when the group in question is defunct and have announced that they not continuing work.

Batoto allows for multiple groups to do the same series, regardless of the quality of the chapters. Even if the group goes defunct that still doesn't matter so long as they don't request for the chapters to be taken down or batoto doesn't receive a take-down request from the publishers of the manga. Batoto believes in giving every group the right to share there work regardless of quality.

Active groups often get into cock whipping contests. Speed scanning persons like Impatient Guy did their thing and now they're dead. If you don't understand this, then <insult redacted> you. Suck <insult redacted> with your low quality <insult redacted>. I'm not releasing any more on your <insult redacted> web site.

Thanks for your colourful post. I've changed your group entry to reflect your wish to not have any of you're releases on Batoto. Good luck in your future endeavours.

For all those thinking of thanking me for the scanlations, I only upload them, and I'm just a mod here. Please leave a message on the actual groups' pages that do all the hard work.

The site accepts all versions as long as they conform to the Hosting Guidelines. The policy allows us to become a platform for all kinds of groups and going back on that means we're going back on our principles.

You could've contacted the Scanlators directly, and asked if they would take down the previous uploads, since you were planning on uploading HQ versions of their Chapters. They may have said "No", but you never know, they might've agreed if you asked politely.
Batoto accepts uploads of Low, Medium and High Quality releases, even if by different scanlators. There are different groups that release HQ/LQ releases of Comics like Freezing within days of each other, and the groups co-exist (relatively) peacefully. There was no reason to use language like that, no matter the reason.
And since everyone's had their say.. Thread Closed.
