So, is Dad a pervert, or is he just over protective? As a middle-aged guy, I utterly abhor anyone who molests or does voyeur behavior on underage girls. At the same time, I've seen fathers nearly arrested for hugging their daughters (usually when a nasty divorce is happening). I'm an old geezer, who doesn't have children, yet I am rather affectionate with my niece (19 years old) and there's nothing weird about it. I'm hetero, a feminist (I really prefer hanging out with girls/women to hanging out with my own gender, and have this really strange belief that women are just as human as men are) and have been married for over thirty years. So, I am wondering where the mangaka is taking us in this arc. Perverts are definitely out there, and my opinions on them verge on what the judicial system calls a hate crime. Misunderstood people are also out there (and fathers granted custody of daughters often come under this topic) and I know, from reading Futari Ecchi, that the mangaka isn't interested in exploring the more disgusting aspects of sexuality. I am hoping that her father is just a clumsy (Makoto kind of guy) who shows up at the wrong time (and opens the shower door???), rather than being the kind of scum that I would like to dispatch with a katana and feed to the koi, after proper processing.
By the way, the title of the thread was supposed to be "It's been going long enough!"
