Yato uses Yukine who is a splendid shinki and has even evolved and Bishamonte is ill, same as her shinki. Yet not only has he not defeated her yet, he is getting driven into a corner. Has he become weak since the time he was the mighty Yatogami or is he holding back? Also, I don't like how they stretch the significance of shinki so much while making the gods seem important simply because they wield them.

He still doesn't know where Hiyori is yet because he came to save her. He can't just kill her without finding out that info. And Bishamon is being quite stubborn in trying to kill him, so I guess she's driven by hate for the deaths of the 'ma' shinki's that Yato had killed. Its not that he's growing weak or anything, he just can't afford to kill her without finding out Hiyori's location.

Also, I wouldn't read this story in terms of a "hierarchy of power". I think of the fight as secondary.

Vaisravana is the strongest god of combat and equipped with lots of Regalia. So I guess that if both were in top shape and there were no distractions, she would logically win. Yato may be the god of disaster, but he is still a nameless god wielding just one Regalia. He is acquitting himself remarkably well given the circumstances.

And yes, his last sentence in the chapter ("there's no saving you this time") does suggest that only now will he move in for the kill.

How would he fare, equipped with Yukine in his evolved shape, against a healthy, unblighted Vaisravana, equipped with Kazuma? This is a question for a shoonen battle manga, in my opinion.

I would not conclude that Yato is weak just because Viina is "cornering" him. Like a reply above said, she is the strongest combat god :D

Besides that, ever since Yukine evolve, I don't really see Viina over powering him. They are still pretty much on par as far as I can see? o.o

No Yato is very strong when he's really serious which he hasn't been in a very long time.

Seeing that this post was in 2014, I think you have your answer by now. ;)
