I know this is the newest shounen jump addition and all but do you guys think this manga is actually going to get any big in the future? It's way too soon to judge but i don't really think it has this something that will make it a success plus it might even be like Hungry Joker, as soon as it gets popular it will get canceled Well, whatever.. I'm glad this was the newest jump addition instead of yet another romance manga.

I hope it gets big, not Naruto or One Piece big, because that would never end, but maybe Fullmetal Alchemist or Soul Eater big would be nice. I'm personally very interested in this, as interested as when I first discovered Soul Eater when only the first couple chapters were translated. I believe this can go the distance!

It all depends on the future. If Tetsu shows any sign of character development the story can reach great heights in my opinion. If he stays "Imma protect humanity" for the rest of the series, I don't think so. If we get interesting supporting characters and/or villians, this will go big. For example a normal human villain would give a great twist to the story.

Doubt it,the One shot got power but it was a bit dilluted in the real series, even so, it has potential, the art is quite good and the story so far seems interesting, lets see how it continues

I can honestly say that this manga has potential to be as big as "Psyren". It is just a potential for now though.
Its art is really nice, characters seem okay (for now, it is only on Ch.5 after all), it is also original -- a definite +. On the other hand; I do not know if it is the authors intention, but if it is not: "Iron Knight" severely lacks a strong plot/problem to tie in the reader for as long as "Psyren" did. Sure the concept is cool, but how far can it go? Also, it feels oddly fast paced for the character to grow that much already. It's been a "month" from ch.1 to ch.5 and the MC's growth is already substantial to the point where he can easily take care of himself and those around him.
If I were to haphazard a guess as to how long I expect this manga to be... I think it would be safe to assume somewhere between 21-34 chapters. I am A-Okay about being wrong on this one though. This is only based on where I feel it is currently headed.
P.S. The reason why I chose to mention "Psyren" is because it also has a similar atmosphere to Iron Knight. Similar, not identical though -- I did say "Iron Knight" was original.

A timeskip is required for the series. This series is good but the character is just immature. Though forcing the character to mature without the timeskip is possible, it just would be too cliche.

I've quite liked it so far, honestly. Protagonist is so adorable I can forgive some of the cheesy lines he and those around him spew. But it's true the author has a quite unpolished approach to writing--tries many things, some work beautifully, like the classmates' signboard at the beginning, some feel quite forced, like the gruff old practical commander randomly spouting stuff about chivalry at the end of chapter 10. Trying to do too many things at once--though enough worked to be interesting (to me personally :'p), and in a perfect world I'd have liked to see how the author evolved with time.
However, a nice thing of being cancelled at this point is the author can still back out gracefully; it's short enough that not concluding the overarching world story would be an acceptable ending, so long as he meets up with his friend in some manner and there's some speculation as to the future.
Also, the series' strongest point has so far been playing on the emotion of this apocalyptic scenario which is something you can only do so many times in a row before it becomes just the general background mood of the series (For instance, take Coppelion).
...Doesn't mean I didn't wish the series was going to be a bit longer, though...

A shame it was axed.
I kind of like the setting even though the MC seems a little too young for the story, as pokari said, sometimes the MC is too cheesy or even too naive and that contrast a little bit buch with the setting (apocalypse..)
Well there were not enough tournaments in this for the teenage public maybe (boku no hero academia nailed it haha) but hay, it was kind of refreshing for a jump manga
