The Emperor are mustering their last defense against the Turkiye invasion

The Turkish Imperial Invasion Armywith 45.000 men has arrived at the bastion of Balt-Rhein Capital, Murs, The Shield of St. Michael, defended by the Imperial forces composed of The Imperial Army (75.000) and the aristrocatic Herrmann (15.000).

Galley Hauling

The composition of the army, the relatively far Venedik fleets, and the absence of any kind of strait-blocking chain make it seems there won't be any Galley Hauling over the hills today.

And, although the sieging army were composed mainly of cavalry, the defender still outnumber the attacker three to one (90.000 vs 24.700) or 5 to 3 (75.000 vs 45.000).

It makes you wonder how will the Turkiye fare with that, as cavalry have limited role in a siege. (City of Tauro strategy seems not feasible with outer wall siege or very effective in the inner wall siege).

Additionally knowing that the Imperial army have advanced combat engineering at their disposal, the probability the siege to be successful looks bleaker to me than the the probability of the successful Byzantine defense of Constatinople in 1453.

 

And ironically, as we know, Byzantine also didn't think Mahmud's army would succeed as his grandfather's, and his great-grandfather's, other Rus's armies, other Sultan armies from Umayyad, another one from Bulgaria, and a Shah's army from Sassanid has demonstrated to their wall.

The Fourth Crusader has demonstrated otherwise though.

But Murs is not Galata and St. Michael is not Constantinople. So Let the Battle begin!
