Ooh, I remember these sorts of pointless and time-wasting conversations with much nostalgia. Hmm... let's see...

My favourite might be Gowther at the moment. This new kid Arthur is starting to win me over, though--as a protagonist he'd be unoriginal as hell, but when so far everything has mainly been conflict between characters with somewhat flexible morals, I feel dropping in a ranbows-and-sparkles boy like him promises to be interesting.

But Ban... I would like more if he wasn't making questionable advances on a dead girl that looks like she's five (regardless of actual age). I suppose I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt because he's off-kilter and she's actually a few centuries old, but that excuse has definitely been used before for... more questionable series, and I'm somewhat leery of it. Likewise, (except a bit worse and minus benefit of the doubt) with Melodias and his frequent trivialization of sexual harassment and molestation. I really wish that wasn't a thing.

Jeera. She started out as a plain evil villain since she was fighting the Sins. Then came the side story about her and her brother so she became a sympathetic villain. Which was made stronger when learning about her father. Then she became a dynamic character when she sided with the Sins and now its interesting to see what will happen to her because of the demon blood she drank.

Hikyou Ban- wait is Ban short for Banchou? Did the author sneak a character in? Either way he's my top hero. Gonna have to look back over places 2 and 3.

My tier is: Arthur > Diane > Merlin > Ban.

But yes, Ban is the best written character in the series so far.

Only Diane, I think. Thought I didn't like she had feelings for Meliodas, now it's something that isn't a matter anymore.

King > Ban > Merlin

I want to say Arthur because I know I'll like him more as the story goes on.

It's hard to only pick one but I guess my favorite character is Meliodas... I see so much potential, as a wannabe writer since there are so many background plots that I can place him into! :3

After him are: King, Ban and Arthur...I just like Arthur because of his face since there's hardly any information about him. He's just so cute! XD

I picked up Nanatsu no Taizai straight from the One Shot so i've been reading it for quite some time now and absolutely love this manga to death. That said, my favorite character is Diane. She's one of my top favorite waifus now and that's saying a lot.

Diane :3 She is just so cute. I don´t mind her one-sided love. I think it will fade eventually... Because you know, there´s someone for her. She´s pretty strong!

I do like Ban, especially in light of his backstory, but he's still only number 4 on my list. My top 5 are...

5.) (Tie) Meliodas and Elizabeth. Meliodas' antics may be cliche, but it's still a little fun since it's just an occasional this, and that only with Elizabeth. If he was like that all the time and/or with every woman he met, then it would have gotten really old really fast. Elizabeth's naivete is the same way; she realizes that she is sheltered and sincerely wants to learn so she can grow beyond that. I would go as far as saying that Elizabeth has grown the most as a character in the 225 chapters I've read thus far. But what cinches this pair in the number 5 spot is their shared tragic backstory (which I will not spoil since it's a very recent development). My heart just went out to them.

4.) Ban. He's a badass, which is cool in and of itself, but as a writer myself, I'm more drawn to depth, and Ban has this even more than my number 5 picks. Superficially, he's an immortal thief who loves to fight and is damn good at it. But when you look at his backstory, you discover that he is a very complex character with deep emotions. Abandoned at such a young age, his relationship with Zhivago, his brief-yet-beautiful relationship with Elaine, then getting falsely accused in her death and the destruction of the Fairy King's Forest. It's just hard not to feel bad for him.

3.) King. Harlequin falls this high on my because he's the character I most relate to. Physically weak, but skilled in other ways. Blamed (by others and himself) for the actions of his friend when Helbram snapped. Deeply devoted to his family (particularly Elaine, but also the rest of the fairies), even when they turn their backs on him. Suffering from issues with self confidence, yet able to draw out his true strength in defense of those he loves. His general honesty and compassion, and his true and pure love for Diane, even when he thought that her heart would always irrevocably belong to Meliodas. King just resonates with me.

2.) Elaine. Like Elizabeth, Elaine led a sheltered life, but she ranks so much higher on my list because she has a natural strength to her. She spent so long essentially in the shadow of her brother the Fairy King, yet also doubling as his keeper, having to push him back into place when he started to stray. Then being forced into a 700 year confinement protecting the Fountain of Youth. Finally, there's the beautiful seven days she got to spend with Ban, and the love they shared in that time, only to culminate in her giving up her life to ensure his survival. Elaine just melted my heart, and I sincerely hope Ban finds a way to permanently revive her. Soon.

1.) Diane! I've tried to avoid recent spoilers thus far, but I can't talk about my girl and not mention recent developments, so fair warning, SPOILERS! Okay, I have to admit that I think she's cute, but that has little to do with her topping my list. She may not have experienced as much tragedy as Meliodas or Elizabeth, but here somehow feels more distinct. Basically driven from her home for disagreeing with tradition, she spent who knows how long alone. She finally finds a true friend with whom her heart connected in Harlequin, but he left her, not even allowing her to keep the pleasant memories of the time they shared. The first person she has a memory of kindness from is Meliodas, and that memory becomes entangled with the lingering remnants of the pure love she shared with Harlequin causing her to unreservedly give her heart to Meliodas. She returns to her people only to learn that her sister has been killed. With nothing else left, she returns to battle with the only mother figure she had, only to end up blamed for Matrona's death. She's reunited with Meliodas in the Seven Deadly Sins, but try as she might, he won't return her love. Upon the reunion of the Sins, she eventually accepts that the Captain will never see her as more than a valued comrade and starts to notice King's feelings, but just when she realizes that she loves him too and is going to tell him, Gowther steals her memories and she again forgets him entirely. Yet, through it all, she stands steadfast in her belief of right and wrong and fights to protect others. When she is finally reunited with Matrona and sees that even the battle hardened grantees has accepted her more noble ideology, it warmed my heart. Then Gowther returning her memories during the trial and her subsequent confession to King, I was so elated that I cried! Their kiss is the wallpaper on my phone! Like Elizabeth and Elaine, Diane has such a pure heart and her emotions are so sincere that I just can't help but love her!

Now, those are my opinions. As we are all individuals, I don't expect anyone to share them, and in fact, I love to hear other people's opinions, even when they differ from mine, so please share your thoughts, opinions, and responses, just remember that opinions differ from one person to the next, so don't say anything about someone else's that you wouldn't want said about yours. (Sorry, but I felt it had to be said. I've spent too much time on the gamefaqs message boards.)
